I take it seriously.
I don't care that people have an incredibly pathetic butt-kissing Sony bias right now. Hell, if Sony released a cinder block with a PS4 logo on it - 80% of the gaming community would scream praises of joy.
I've been blasted for speaking good of Wii U - yet if I spent most of my time chanting "PS4 is awesome!" - people would scream, shout and cheer. I am a very happy Wii U owner. I got this thing much quicker than I thou...
This is simply an opinion article. I talked about those complaints from my perspective of things.
"It's sometimes a biweekly thing and it's the same stuff over and over; downplaying of Wii U's problems to a zealous degree (filled with hyperbole to attempt to make anyone critical of Wii U's situation look stupid), propagating that rumor about the Nintendo-EA Origin thing, or blaming third parties for not making Wii U successful."
..Y...
Lol. Good one.
But Sony is Japanese, no?
Riiiiight.
MS ~ I don't know what on earth happened - but you need to come off that weed you're smoking. It's messing with your head. You know what happened to Titanic? Because its workers decided to rush and launch it before it was properly finished - it sunk like a rock when it hit that iceberg.
And that's basically what you guys are doing right now;
- setting your ship up to sink.
You've been backtracking, rotat...
@310dodo
I can see where you're coming from - that's not rude at all.
I can understand why they wouldn't do DVD - but I guess no Blu-Ray is disappointing. But then again ~ most people like to digitally stream their movies through stuff like Netflix now-a-days, so it also makes sense why they didn't bother to add that functionality.
"You might be prepared to do that, but 99% of the regular gaming public, the people who sit and play games a few hours here and there, aren't going to want to go out and buy peripherals and have more things plugged in just to get basic functionality - it's against everything consoles, especially Nintendo ones, are all about - just turn it on & play your game. "
But yet I see nobody complaining about upgrading their PS3's harddrive, no?
Well that's pretty good. I wonder if this is a sign that maybe, W101 might do be pretty well here in the West.
But it's releasing in an entire flack of major titles. It may not be on PS360 which will have GTA: V - but it IS releasing next to Wind Waker....
So the feature is coming, but not instantaneously? Fair enough - but the question is - HOW long?
@Concertoine
Wow. Never realized that. I see what you mean now. It's either that (and/or) Ninty decided to compress the heck out of this thing.
I don't think the bashing is necessary - but I do know that people sure love kissing Sony's butt. When they do it - all people do is laugh and cheer. But it seems like when MS does it - it's suddenly a big problem. On Nintendo's side - all Reggie did was say 'Meh' and people lost their heads.
I guess it just brings out the immaturity of the different fan-bases to the max.
I don't think it's just the art style that's keeping a tight cap on the size - remember - this is a remake of a GameCube title.
He has a point. The Wii U's price drop and 3DS' price drop were two different scenarios. Wii U dropped by $50 - 3DS dropped by over $80.
3DS' price drop came just a few months after the system released - it's been 10 months from since the Wii U has released.
You can't expect to get any major perks with a console you've owned for almost a year ~ unless you just picked up the system.
Next-gen price? PS3 took HOW long to leave the $300 mark? And besides - that thing is still selling at $250 - which is $50 less than the soon-to-be-established Wii U price.
I think Nintendo made a decent choice not putting a plethora of storage on this thing. Reason being - external hard drives exist. And they don't just exist - they're cheap. You can get a 1TB external HDD for about $70. That's $10 more than the average game. If you can't shell out $70 for so...
Too close? In which way?
The PS4 is now $100 more than Wii U.
Xbox-One is $200. So if it's price you meant ~ then you're stuck there.
As for sales of the rival consoles - I don't know how the One will fare - but PS4 should sell like flying colors. Does that mean that'll extinguish Wii U? Nope.
Regardless of anything; The Wii U is going to have Donkey Kong, Zelda, Sonic, and Mario. You can also tag Wii Fit and Wii Party...
SOFTWARE sells HARDWARE. That's how it's always been. That's why these things are called VIDEO GAME consoles. Even though they're now multimedia machines - there first and foremost feature is to play video games.
Think of a cup of ice cream.
The console is the cup.
The games are the ice-cream.
The extra features are the whipped cream.
And if there's a price-cut - then that would be like the sprinkles with a cherry o...
Excuse me, but what?
The Gamepad is the heart and soul of the Wii U. Yes - it also has the Pro Controller - but the Wii had the Classic Controller/Classic Controller Pro ~ and you didn't see N release a Wiimote-less SKU, now did you?
Even if the Gamepad makes it a little bit pricey - stripping the Wii U of it's prime companion is stupid. The 3DS' 3D is an optional feature - that's why you can turn it on or off. It's not exactly the heart o...
And what are people going to say about this little poke:
"Hah-hah. Poor MS"
Yet it still baffles me how everyone lost their heads over Reggie's "Meh".
It's amazing after what Nintendo showed they could do with the 3DS - people think they can't repeat it.
The 3DS was in a MUCH worse position than the Wii U is right now. At least the system had major launch titles - what did 3DS have? Steel Diver, Pilotwings and Nintendogs.
When Nintendo dropped that priced and lauched OOT 3D, Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 - sales blew up and 3DS has been riding in the fast lane ever since.
Why...
I love it how people love to declare doom on Nintendo when:
* They've only had one failed console in history - and that was the Virtual Boy. Hasn't happened since.
* Even though the N64 and GCN didn't sell incredibly well, Nintendo STILL turned a profit (which is all that matters, really)
* Nintendo isn't just the oldest video game company still in existence, it's also the one with the biggest profits ( 4653d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment
