You can also pirate games on consoles too. Have you ever heard of DS, Wii, PS3 or XBOX 360?
PCs will always outshine consoles, no matter how powerful consoles become. Consoles are closed systems; once their specifications are finalized and they begin their production run - they virtually stay the same until their successor is introduced. (Don't bash me yet)
BUT EVEN SO: While you can pop open your rig's hood and install a new graphics card, add more RAM to it, and things of that nature - that's a very expensive operation. With consoles - you only pay for...
It's been really interesting to see everyone try and doom Nintendo AGAIN. You'd think people would have eased off after they did a complete 180 with the 3DS' situation - but in actuality - I think the Wii U has been/is being flamed more than the 3DS ever was.
It seems like the Wii U has gotten even more doom than the PS3 when it was going through it woes. http://www.1up.com/do/blogE...
I just hope Valve knows what they're trying to shuffle their way into.
Steam is an amazing service as it is. But I wonder how many people would be inclined to actually use a full-on OS that's dedicated entirely to Steam-powered gaming. It's like a game-console PC, almost...A hybrid, perhaps?
Nonetheless - I'm really interested to see how this is going to play out.
Great blog. Your point is very strong.
This is what I hope to see LESS of this new generation.
That's why the coming months are so chaotic. There's so much 'AAA' content coming out all at once ~ it's starting to become stagnant. When you have major franchises trying to be other franchises - an over-saturation occurs, and that's exactly what I feel is happening right now. That's why some games either make it or break it.
...
I expected this to be shovelware...Okay then.
I'll check out some more reviews.
Did I ever say that I own the game? No, I didn't. I don't own any M-rated games, at all. They're not my cup of tea.
I said that I enjoy the open-world of V and all the activities.
I don't own the game. I've never owned any GTA game, but I have played a few in the past.
Necessary?
In which SANE universe is this NECESSARY? There's nothing "necessary" about violence to begin with - So why would disgusting, excess violence be necessary AT ALL?
It's sickening to believe that people actually enjoy this stuff. I don't care if it's "just a game" - It doesn't make it any less revolting and asinine.
I love the huge open-world of GTA:V and similar games. Being able to jump into ...
If you looked at Digital Foundry's analysis - the difference is relatively close. As expected, the PC version still outpaces the Wii U version, but not as much as it outpaces the PS3/360 versions of the game.
The textures are sharper, as well as the shadows and the draw distance is enhanced over the PS3/360 versions - bringing it much more on-par with the PC version. Lighting has also been greatly enhanced, especially at nighttime.
1.) If Wii proved anything is that the casual crowd has money, and if you feed them the right meal, they'll pay.
2.) What do you expect from a party game? Super-dazzling graphics?
3.) It's not like this is Nintendo's ONLY first-party title:
- Pikmin 3
- Wind Waker HD
- Super Mario: 3D World
- X
- Mario Kart 8
- Yarn Yoshi
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
- Super Smash B...
Haven't you ever heard of the saying: "A little goes a long way"?
It may not be a SUPER-MASSIVE, ULTRA HIGH increase - but it's still an increase. Naturally, it will start to add up and gain traction overtime.
If that's the case, then every positive remark Sony Santa Monica and Naughty Dog make about PS4 is biased and shouldn't be taken seriously.
....logic
With the work they've done in the past with their Wiiware titles, as well their immensely beautiful Nano Assault NEO on the eShop - I think it's safe to say this guy is more than qualified to give tech-info on the system.
It's nice to see at least ONE developer speak good of the Wii U's specs instead of something outrageously asinine like:
"Hurr!Hurr!Hurr! It's not a PS4! Hurr!Hurr!Hurr! It's not powerful enough for us!!!"
Excuse me - But Shin'en isn't some off-shot indie developer. Their games are actually really fun. Remember - these are the same guys who developed Jett Rocket, Art of Balance and FAST: Racing League on the Wii through Wiiware. Those games look better than 90% of the system's retail games and that was accomplished with an insane 40mb file size limit.
Do you REALLY think they don't know what they're talking about?
Compare PS3 launch titles like: NBA 2K7, Need for Speed: Carbon, Tony Hawk's Project 8, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Call of Duty 3 to recent titles like: Uncharted 3, The Last of Us, Gran Turismo 6, GTA: V, and Battlefield 4.
Judging a system's tech within the first year of it's lifecycle is stupid. It takes time for developers to get the full concept of what they're working with and even longer to properly use it. But nonetheless - we're already seeing t...
The price, albeit high, is reasonable to an extent. This isn't just Wii Sports in HD - they've also added Motion+ technology, as well as the online component.
Besides; it's not like Wii Sports was really "free" when it came bundled with the original Wii. You had to pay SOMETHING for that. The packaging as well as the game itself costed money to develop, so of course it would cost a price even though it was included in a bundle.
Not as big as an overhaul as one could hope for ~ but it's not like it really NEEDS a huge graphics overhaul. Wii Sports is definitely way more gameplay-based than graphics-based.
But what it lacks in the graphics field, one could say it makes up for in the online-play, which is going to be MUCH better than anything the Wii could have dished out, especially with Miiverse.
Pikmin 3, Super Mario: 3D Land, DKC: Tropical Freeze, Wind Waker HD and Nintendo land say "hi".
Did you build this emulator yourself? You must have - as there's no legit PS3 emulator accessible to the public. Besides, your PC would need to be immensely powerful in order to emulate a PS3.
