As I've said before ~ The heart-pumping animosity that people insist exists between these companies is only ever found the highly devoted fanboy community.
These guys have tea parties in each other's garages (joking) - but you get my point.
Do they all take shots at it each other every now and then? Nope. But that's nothing more than your average competitor trash-talk. It's seen all around.
The only ones really tripping out, ...
Logical, sensible, non-lethal people on the Internet? And of all places, N4G?!
I thought it was a myth...
It needs to be saved from actually succeding.
- Those are the sentiments of the Nintendo haters who just want to watch their HQ burn, for WHATEVER reason.
That bad-selling, no-games slump, ended months ago. It's been rising from since Pikmin 3 released. Wii Party U and 3D World have both boosted it, despite the launches of two new systems.
Does a system that just outsold everything except 3DS in Japan for a week (sold about 70k+) sound like it...
It's a sad day, when so many money throwing consumers are up in arms, about which box of plastic and silicone sold the most, as if they themselves are receiving the profit.
Wow
It's because Ubisoft was being all smug about it, seeing that it was so close to their name.
They haven't "failed". They've under-preformed.
If they failed - it wouldn't still be in production, now would it?
XBOX 360 wasn't doing so hot either - remember the RROD controversy? PS3 was under fire for being overpriced, and developers were pulling their hair out trying to code it. Wii was being slammed for being too weak. DS was too weird and was destined to be smashed by PSP. PSP had mass piracy. The 3D in the 3DS was consider...
Went to a Walmart yesterday in South Carolina - no new games,or console bundles they were all sold out. Only the older titles and accessories were left, except Skylanders and Disney Infinity
"Least Xbox/Sony fans actually listen to each other, they just don't like to mention each others good points in arguments."
Yes - because carrying on like blood-thirsty animals over someone calling your console of choice "bad", or simply not agreeing with your personal views - is the absolute pinnacle of the term "mature"
Nice review. My only gripe is that "secondary console" remark. But hey, too each his own.
Nevertheless, this may be my primary 8th-gen system. I can't say that I'll be getting the XBOX One or even PS4; simply because there aren't any games, released or currently announced that tickle my fancy enough to get them. And seeing that XBOX 360 and PS3 are getting modest support thus far, that shouldn't diminish any time soon due to the large install base, I...
Considering that the entire show was Febreeze-scented garbage ~ I'm actually kind of glad they didn't show anything groundbreaking.
It's like shining a diamond in a dust-storm.
They save their groundbreaking announcements for E3 and Nintendo Directs. If the beginning of this year is anything to by, we may have one in January detailing future releases and of course more stuff for E3.
Am I justifying their act of bringing Kranky Ko...
I won't dispute that; you're more than likely right ~ but all new items (especially electronics) get that launch-boost, because everyone wants the new thing on the market. It should be interesting what the sales rate will be when January/February hits, and the launch hype subsides.
"Gimmick" ~ 'a trick or device intended to attract attention, publicity, or business.'
Just wanted to throw that out there. It irks me how people love to throw that word around.
But as for my actual response:
When you compare the Wii Remote to the Wii U Gamepad ~ the Gamepad is definetley a traditional controller, by comparison. Honestly; the biggest difference between the Wii U Gamepad and the Pro Controller, is that touchs...
Easy answer to an easy question:
- Buy the system (or even systemS) that offer the games and experiences that most interest you, that you know you will enjoy the most.
- Profit.
If the next Halo, Gears of War, Forza or Titanfall came to PS4 - outrage would appear.
If the next Killzone, Uncharted, inFamous, The Last of Us, God of War, or Gran Turismo appeared on XBOX One - you better believe the Internet would nuke itself.
There's something called EXCLUSIVE TITLES; every system has a few of them. In this case; it came to the other systems because it was a new-IP at the time. It didn't sell all that well, and it's publisher...
PS2 was getting new games for eons after the PS3 launched; so seeing that the PS3 (and 360) are continuing to sell very well despite their age; I doubt developers would drop support very soon.
*Third-parties announce that they won't be bringing their titles to Nintendo systems*
- "Nintendo should do more to invite third-parties in! Give them money if you have to! Stop treating third-parties so bad!"
*Nintendo approaches a third-party company to make a game exclusive to their system, that was previously on other systems, but had no real future*
- "What?! This is an outrage! It was on the other systems before!! Nin...
They didn't go against the grain. Do some simple research.
Nintendo funded the DEVELOPMENT of the game. It's not like Platinum said: "Okay, we're making a sequel to Bayonetta - which platform should we release it on?"
This has been said already; If didn't Nintendo step-up to the plate and made the deal with Platinum, this game wouldn't even exist.
Get mad at Sony or MS for not asking for it. The IP was sub-abando...
Even on the launches of two new systems; it's still hitting new-highs. It's selling better than it has all year.
All systems hit that "launch-high" and then slowly dwindle down as the hype fades. It's the same thing with the launch of every system, especially home-consoles. You think the PS4 and XBOX One are going to be selling at this exact same-rate for the next few months? The chances of that are slim. Just wait until January-February. You'll see ...
But they aren't.
They apply it in appropriate titles. Mario Kart Wii had a really great online system, on a console with a basic online infrastructure.
Wii U has a better online infrastructure than Wii ever had, and Nintendo has been using it.
- The eShop?
- Miiverse?
- Constant System Updates?
- Wii Sports Club?
- Ghost Miis in Super Mario 3D World?
- Wii U Chat?
- Mario Kart 7?

Speak for yourself, mate.
Games like Pikmin 3 and Super Mario 3D World didn't get high review scores for nothing.
