If it's phased out - why is it being bundled with a new game, and on Nintendo's main website for Wii U?
- The biggest thing that's been plaguing Wii U is a lack of knowledge from the general consumer market. Nintendo brought this thing to a show, it was given out to the entire audience, and seen by 4.4 million people on TV.
The people who got one are gonna talk about it to their friends and family, and a lot of the people who saw the show (or who ...
That's why I don't worry.
Nintendo has proven time and time again; they always have nukes.
For years they've been the strong but silent type.
While other developers flaunt and bicker between each other - Nintendo just sits in the corner, playing with their toys and minding their own business - and occasionally throws in a witty remark that catches everyone off guard, and sets the place on fire.
Nintendo has always been the ones to show what they're systems can do, although the times when they team up with outside studios, they make some pretty games to.
I mean - just look at Wii. It was a standard-definition system going up against to high-definition systems, and yet - it STILL had some beautiful games.
Mario Galaxy (1-&-2), Skyward Sword, Sonic Colors, The Conduit, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Rayman Legends, Rayman Origins (still looked good on ...
My goodness - this is beyond ridiculous.
THE DEVELOPERS are actually speaking POSITIVELY of the system ~ saying that they're trying to deliver the best possible experience they can with the hardware - SOMETHING THAT RARELY HAPPENS WITH A THIRD-PARTY DEV WORKING ON A GAME FOR A NINTENDO SYSTEM - and yet - there are actually people here trying to SPIN THIS AS A NEGATIVE?
Yep. Now I need no more proof. This site has some unwarranted hate for Wii U to the hig...
I don't know why there's all of a sudden this demand from journalists and some gamers for Nintendo to bring their titles over to mobile platforms.
Like Reggie said (this isn't an exact quote, but basically a paraphrase of what he said):
"We create our unique software to be played exclusively on our systems. By releasing our games on other platforms, that decreases the value of our systems."
And he is all but right. That&...
What an awesome use of that one, pretty little bubble you have!
(Thumbs Up!!)
While I like your way of thinking; when someone dares try to combat the flaimbait with counter-articles, as you mentioned; they usually get put in the hot pan themselves. The writers of those articles end up getting called stuff like: "delusional, out of touch, senseless" and things of that nature.
The old saying remains true: Misery sure does love company. These sites/journalists just do this for the sake of attracting as much traffic as possible; because everyone...
For everyone losing their heads over Nintendo "milking and rehashing" their IPs; just realize this:
This is the definition of what you call a SPIN-OFF title; holding no relation to the main games. I doubt this is even being made by Nintendo EAD.
While you have a point, it still isn't as black and white as that. Consoles run in generations, so naturally you would need to buy a new system every generation in order to stay in the new-releases loop.
Even so, developers are making games for one model, versus thousands of different models. THAT was my point. PCs don't run in generations. They're constantly changing. Consoles on the other hand run in a fixed timeframe, and sometimes overlap (PS2 still getting n...
And do you expect the 4.3 million users who just got the system over the ONE YEAR period it's been out, and Nintendo's investors to simply give a thumbs up to that?
Just ask SEGA how they nearly went THQ because of doing foolishness like that. Even if Wii U sells as well as Gamecube, it'll be fine. Why? Because Nintendo's software sells like hotcakes. That's what keeps systems alive - quality software. As long as it's getting that, it'll be fine. ...
Technically it is. Was it selling mainly because of Wii Sports and Just Dance? Yes, but those games surely weren't broken.
It's illogical to be honest.
It really makes no sense to compare the two; because they're designed different ways.
Consoles are machines that are OPTIMIZED for gaming. That's why they're called "video-game consoles". They have lightweight operating systems, streamlined to play games. Their inner components are usually customized - once again; for gaming. When a developer designs a game for the consoles; they can optimize their game t...
Too much logic in this comment.
Kill it! Kill it with fire! You can't do that here!! These incredibly intelligent people can't comprehend such use of COMMON SENSE and REASON, with a pinch of REALITY!
But seriously; bravo good sir. I'd bubble you up more if I could. There are a shortage of commenters like you around this land.
@SilentNegotiator:
"Besides, if any of that is going on, it's between Nintendo fanboys p...
If only there were more "gamers" out there like you.
You're waiting for a price drop of $199?
Well mate; you're gonna be waiting a while.
Plummeting?
Wait - you mean the console which sales levels have been rising worldwide from since last month? Yeah, totally doomed.
Even if Nintendo loses money on the system until the 9th-generation (doubt it) ~ that won't hurt them as badly as the PS3 and Vita did to Sony. Why? Because Nintendo is sitting on a continuously growing 16-billion dollar stash. Think that's just going to go poof? Not really.
Even the Gamecube - Nintendo...
Simply the best trailer ever.
Trailer of the Year Award goes to SEGA!
@MMJ - Post 2:
And how many of the combined 140+ million units sold of the PS3 and 360, were you think bought because of their technological advantages? Consoles aren't bought for specs, mate.
If graphics and specs are what you care about - PC gaming is where it's at. That's where specs matter. Graphics are only ever good if the game itself is good. If it's a buggy mess, no matter how pretty it looks - do you think people will still enjoy it? ...
- The PS3 and XBOX 360 have been out for nearly 10 years. Of course they're cheaper and have a bigger library. The Wii U has only been out for just a year.
- It IS a next-gen system; regardless of whether you think so or not. Why? Because generations deal with time. The PS4 and the XBOX One succeed the PS3 and 360. Thus they are 8th-gen. 3DS succeeds DS. It is also 8th-gen. Vita succeeds PSP. What does that make it? 8th-gen. Wii U succeeds Wii. So what does THAT make it? ...
They run when they see positive news.
It's their kryptonite.
