This certainly looks pretty cool! I wouldn't mind picking this up for my Wii U.
Also; I don't know why - but all I could see was Futurama...
While that's understandable; it's also quite sad.
It just shows the mentality of the general consumer; unless it's as simple as black-&-white - they don't check for it. As hard as it is to Google "Wii U" and get a million results for what it is, what games it has, and so much more information - they don't think that far.
That's really sad when you think about it. Not emotionally sad; just sad as in - pathetic.
You mean the Engine Tech Demovision, GTA: Future Edition (which is coming to the U, btw) and Bugfield 4?
Nice..
And before anyone declares off with my head; that was a joke.
Put it this way; if MS didn't have that bone-chilling, facedesk-worthy reveal of the XBOX One; Sony wouldn't have been able to raise the PS4 to the benchmark status of "Holy Grail" as much as they did already.
This one will have legs.
Millions of people watch this show; now they know about it. And several people got that prize; they're gonna tell people about it.
Smart move, indeed.
I believe that it can.
It has some notable plus-points, the main one being that it has Nintendo's IPs on it's side; which are some of the biggest gaming icons in the entire industry.
Because he was generalizing, stating that "nobody buys third-party titles on Wii U". Who is "nobody"? Rayman Legends sold best on the Wii U, so did Sonic Transformed. NFS: Most Wanted U also sold more than the PC version.
People don't buy, late, watered-down, half-baked ports. That's where the problem is.
Speak for yourself and nobody else.
I own 5 Wii U retail titles (Nintendo Land, NFS: Most Wanted U, LEGO City: Undercover, Pikmin 3, and Sonic Transformed) and 2 e-Shop titles (Runner 2 and Art Academy). 3 of the 5 retail games are third-party and 1 of the 2 e-Shop titles are third-party.
It doesn't need to be "saved" until after it hits it's stride.
3 words: Mario. Kart. 8
That's been the biggest Nintendo-system seller for eons now.
If that thing, combined with DKC: Tropical Freeze, Smash 4, X, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Yarn Yoshi and Shen Megami Tensi x Fire Emblem (and that's just going by what we KNOW about) - dob't move units - I don't know what else will.
Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing sold best on Wii U.
Rayman Legends sold best on Wii U.
Need for Speed Most Wanted U sold more than the PC version.
... It's not that third-party titles don't do well on the system, you know? It's the quality of the title.
Developers think that just doing a quick-and-dirty port "because it isn't going to sell well anyway" - is a justifiable reason not to put any effort in; but how and ...
The "Nintendo Rare" of the past and the "Microsoft Rare" of today are two different "Rare's"; they only share the same name.
The team itself consists of different people now. So even if N did get them back - they wouldn't be carrying the same *magic touch* of the before-times.
I guess RETRO has arguably filled that void..
What travels faster?
Gossip or praise?
Which gathers more attention?
Someone winning a prize, or someone dying?
What stories do people love to tell for eons?
Tales of disaster and grief in their life or their romance?
... Moral of the story: bad news gathers more attention; so everybody loves to jump on the doom-&-gloom bandwagon - because no story is better than a saucy, spicy, negativity pool.
Ye...
Slightly Mad isn't having issues.
Shin'en isn't having issues.
Platinum isn't having issues.
Ubisoft isn't having issues.
SEGA isn't having issues.
Criterion didn't have any issues either.
...That's because they actually try to build their games according to the hardware, and not watering it down to force-feed it onto the system.
Ever heard of the little word called "optimization&quo...
- Has owned it for a year
- Still owns it
- Still buying games for it
- Still loving it.
Speak for yourself; not everybody else.
Now that the stocks have returned; what does that say for the 10,000 "Nintendo is Doomed" and "Wii U is on It's Way Out" articles that sprouted over the last few days?
You better believe only a fraction of the websites that penned those articles will have the gall to write another one, trying to brush off their previous mess.
Once again; EA talking utter crap.
It's not that the system became a "kids IP platform"; that's pretty bogus, considering that most of it's library is far from the casual-stuff we saw on Wii.
I like it how we forgot to mention that while they did bring a solid of of ME3 to the system; they released it months behind the other versions (that was unavoidable - but) - they charged full price for it; while simultaneously releasing the Trilog...
I wasn't denying the problem; I was saying that it's getting blown COMPLETELY out of proportion now.
Everybody has now turned into some type of fortune-telling, all-knowing guru. From the writers on the little blogs, to the journalists on the biggest gaming websites; almost all are chanting doom-&-gloom.
THAT was my point.
Oh wow... DK is 720p! The world is going to end!!
Yeah...not really. Pikmin 3, Sonic Lost World, and Super Mario 3D World are all 720p as well - but they still look pretty dang gorgeous.
Not gonna happen; at least not any time in the foreseeable future.
The Wii U has been under-performing, but neither has it hit it's stride yet. Smash 4? DK: Tropical Freeze? MK8? Hyrule Warriors? X? Forgot about those? Those are just most likely a handful of the big titles that N has in store. They have a knack for keeping things in the shadows..big things.
Even if the thing comes in 3rd place; it won't be the end and they might even end up making a p...
Yay! My second time winning, and my first time winning for a review.
Thanks N4G!
