That opening paragraph has to be the biggest, most hypocritical thing ever.

He basically said; "I hate all of the Nintendo-is-doomed articles, but I want to join in and write one anyway."

Makes perfect sense in which universe?

Once again, I will say this.

The chances of the Wii U becoming the next Dreamcast is as high as the Sun swapping places with the Moon. That's gonna happen tomorrow in Fantasyland; better b...

I find it quite nice that the article fails to mention:

- That Wii U sold 3 million units from NOV.2012, to the very beginning of 2013.

- That despite the fact that it sold poorly at the beginning half of the year, mainly from since Pikmin 3 released and the games following it (mainly Wind Waker HD and 3D World) ~ sales have been on an up-ward trek.

I also like it how the article fails to mention the EXACT way the Dreamcast went out and why S...

I said that because by definition they are 8th-generation systems and they were released before the Wii U, PS4 and XBOX One.

It would be a sin and a crime for this thing to only keep its head up by riding on the back of its big brother (PS4) - as an accessory, versus it being an actual, standalone-handheld system.

It's a Catch 22; similar to what Wii U has been facing.

Developers don't want to bring most of their games over because of lackluster sales - which is caused by gamers not caring about the system because of a lack of games - which is caused by the fact that develo...

While nobody would be happy about losing money; the percentage they have to hand over is only 1% (funny how the title itself doesn't mention that off the bat).

And also; Wii U is by no means anywhere NEAR the levels of the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast's problem was that it had a long line of rushed, and failed systems that dug SEGA's debt hole larger and larger. They literally could not afford to support Dreamcast - or else they'd have to shut down everything. So...

Just to clarify; they have to give about 1% of the percentage.

1%/100%...Hmm - and that loss matches the term "hit hard" in which dimension?

Yes; because putting a camera in your device is COMPLETELY stealing someone's idea. Riiiight.

Some people/companies patent the darnedest of things, so they probably didn't even know it. And if they did; shame on them - but still ~ it's only a camera.

How on earth are PS-Vita and 3DS lumped as "last-gen"; when they began the 8th-generation?

4533d ago 20 agree5 disagreeView comment

It's not a sad fact.

It's your personal preference.

5 million people and counting have already bought one.
Think anyone's gonna lose sleep over your continuing attention-seeking, hate-lationship for Nintendo and the Wii U?

- So not everyone is leeching off of your ideas; to make their game they're making trump yours, because they know exactly what you're doing.

How do you think Sony was able to side-swipe MS so nicely with the PS4 when the XBOX One was first announced?

As for consumers; it keeps the game from getting stale. If you're consistently talking about your game; whether that means consistent interviews, or a plethora of trailers and screenshots - it just c...

*Nivida doesn't include the picture of the Wii U in their slide* = Complete Mass-Hysteria.

Wow. Doesn't take much to get all of you Wii U haters/trolls out and about, does it? Not surprised. If Broadway had a gaming-division, N4G would be the headliner.

Regardless; it's funny how they didn't include it though - considering all of the games they mentioned were released on the system.

Eh, whatever. Only a picture.

In all fairness; PlayStation as we know it might not even exist. Sony DID create it out of a nuked joint-effort between them and Nintendo.

A lot of people consider Nintendo complete last priority these days, and keep having wet dreams about waking one morning to the news that Nintendo is closing down for good.

Most just don't realize how much contributions they've actually made to this entire industry; the biggest being the fact that they saved it fro...

I'm really curious to see how XBOX One will do in Japan. MS has found success in the US and EU - but Japan has never taken well to the XBOX from since the first-generation, if I recall correctly.

Regardless; if Nintendo plays their cards right - Wii U should continue to do quite well in Japan, and maybe even give Sony a run for their money, depending on how things go.

Nevertheless; as long as both are doing well - all is good.

It's okay to be concerned to a point; if your console is selling, you can go to sleep knowing that new games are coming.

But when you make an obsession out of it (like a lot of the users here) ~ it almost seems like they're the ones getting the money that's made off of hardware sales. It's a pretty interesting sight to see on a pretty interesting site..

And yet; most of Nintendo's big name titles sell millions of copies, move systems, thus creating a massive profit for Nintendo.

That's the reason why they've been making the most money for quite some time now.

And you want them to get rid of it? Interesting.

Nintendo is just about the only one of the big-3 who can have systems that survive almost completely off of their games. Take away the third-party releases from the XBOX and ...

Wii U-3DS linkage?
Possibly.

Wii U model with no Gamepad?
I'll see you on Neveurary the 3rd, 3014.

It's a possibility; but money talks ~ and a steep price point isn't going to sit well with everyone.

You would essentially be getting a gaming PC, pre-installed with Steam-OS (which can only play Linux-supported games). Seeing that you can still download Windows, MAC, or another Linux OS ~ something you can already do with your current PC; it might not end up being a great deal in the eyes of everyone.

My predictions:

PS4:

- Will mellow down a little after the hype, but probably not by much.
- Will get a solid streaming service; allowing it to play PS3 games digitally.
- Will continue to help the Vita sell units.
- Get a new/new games in the form of an old IP.

Wii U:

- Will continue to sell well due to a steady-stream of big titles; possibly even boosting more than it's current level.
- M...

It's a temporary sale.

If they had this as the permanent price; they'd be losing money. When are you going to get it through your thick skull that these things require money to manufacture, and are being sold for less than they're worth?
