Yeah; the variety of games is pretty lackluster these days - and it's getting annoying. Everyone wants to 1UP the other: Halo - Mass Effect, CoD - Battlefield, GTA - Watch_Dogs...and so on.
The system isn't "weak". It's not "underpowered". It's not "ancient, last-gen tech".
Nope; when you see games like GTA: V, Crysis 3 and the Last of Us running on the PS3/360 - it makes a guy wonder what could be done on the U - a system which, BY FACT, is more powerful than both aforementioned systems.

Records have shown that third-party games that weren't gimped, actually did close numbers on the system compared to the other platforms. Examples like Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and Rayman Legends, come to mind.
Hopefully pCars Wii U will continue that trend. SMS seems pretty keen to actually make the Wii U version the BEST they can. It would be a shame if it goes ignored.

In all honesty; when he announced that they were planning to out-source their IPs to other devs, it made me realize that maybe he's starting to warm up to the idea that Nintendo can't survive by themselves alone. Add that to the fact that they have been inviting indie-devs with open arms on both Wii U as well as 3DS. When I hear of a game like Project Cars, running on Wii U, and seeing other titles like Most Wanted U, Mass Effect 3, Crysis 3 (although it was never shown, it was almost done) - Sonic Lost World, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, and the big-boy; X ~ excuses like these don't hold much water in my eyes.
I've played basically all the major Sonic titles except 06 (don't want to touch it either). And I have to say; he's changed drastically through the ages.
Too be fair, ever from since the daytime levels in Unleashed; it seems like Sonic Team was getting somewhere. Unleashed was the property, Unleashed was the foundation, and Generations was the actual building.

This terrible thing known as DLC, has only given devs the incentive to release half a game for the full price, and then lock the rest of it behind a paywall. You already paid $60 for the game. Now you have to go paying $5-$10 for each new "pack" they release.
