They've already said that they have no plans to announce any new hardware; but if they did - I honestly think it would be a re-design of one of their current systems, or our first look at their Quality of Life platform.
"The Wii U is underpowered!"
"It's not at the same level as the PS4!"
"It's barely more powerful than the PS3!!"
Yup, yup, yup.
Mario Kart 8 has now officially joined X and Bayo2 in becoming the dictionary example that the Wii U is by NO MEANS a technological-slouch.
It's going to be real interesting to see - since Watch_Dogs is coming out not too long before that.
Nintendo has a very mighty card in their hands. The game alone will create major buzz; but it's that bundle that looks like it's set to kill!
Still beats Ghost's Fish A.I
Well; considering that I didn't exist in those days - my knowledge of their previous behavior is scarce.
Thanks for the clear-up. Now I understand why 3rd-parties have been so way-ward with Nintendo; but even so, they've been incredibly cold as of lately. Still - two wrongs don't make a right.
Well; considering the large-amount of shovelware we saw wash up on the shores of the Wii & DS - I honestly wish they still had that approach.
At least they're letting their guard down with Indies though; who obviously love both the Wii U and 3DS. So, that's a good thing.
Quality Control isn't a bad thing; it's actually really good. It sets standards. Developers these days have all but lost those standards. There's a reason why most of ...
That article was based on the first-set of dev-kits that shipped; before the improved ones came out. Just EG trying to stir up controversy.
A lot of indies have came out and said how Nintendo has been very generous and helped them whenever they got stuck; so I don't see how some could get the needed tech-support while others don't. Doesn't add up.
I'm not one to usually care too heavily about a game's graphics; but one must say - GOOD GRIEF - they really outdid themselves here!
Honestly; I don't care if it doesn't have the power of the PS4 - this alone proves that the Wii U has much more prowess than what most people think.
Mario Kart is Nintendo's highest-selling franchise; outside of Pokemon and the "Wii" series.
Honestly; considering that the lowest-selling MK was 5 million+ units; I really don't think it's going to be very hard for the Wii U to achieve that and more, if Nintendo plays their cards right.
This plus Smash in the same year? You're asking for fireworks....Nuclear fireworks.
Darn; I was really hoping one of my blogs would have won! Regardless, congrats to all the winners!
Will try harder this month. >:)
Don't know why it simply wasn't being made along-side the other versions.
It's like they're trying to fulfill some kind of conscience-objective, so they don't have to feel guilty.
"Well we're BRINGING it to Wii U - just not at the same time as the others" - is all I'm seeing.
It's amazing how Wii U owners had to wait almost a full year extra to get Rayman Legends (it was supposed to be a launch-title)...
They had the "cutting-edge tech" strategy before; still didn't sway devs.
N64 was more powerful than the PS1.
GameCube was more powerful than the PS2, and slightly on-par with the original XBOX.
Even so; third-party devs still turned up their noses at Nintendo and went to the other systems. Nintendo can put 80 cores in their next system, with 20GB of RAM, and a EVGA GeForce GTX690 4096MB GDDR5 graphics card. It really won't matter th...
Redesign or new model; but the likelihood of a full-fledged new system is as likely as the sun and moon swapping places. Nintendo does strange things; that's just how they roll - but they also have enough common sense to know that succeeding either of their systems right now, would undermine themselves big time.
Just ask our dear friend SEGA how/why they dropped out of the console race.
Regardless; should be interesting to see what they're going to do...
"Not wanting to show up at this year's E3"
Nope. Sorry, wrong.
Nintendo has never "missed" any E3. They didn't have a traditional, on-stage press conference last year, and it doesn't seem like they won't have one this year; but that doesn't mean they're not showing up to E3. They had a strong presence last year, on the show floor, having a conference for the press where the developers talked about their titles and t...
DLC isn't a BAD thing per-say; it's existed for quite some time - just not in the console market.
Games have had expansion-packs from since the early 2000s. It didn't hit consoles until the 7th-gen came around.
It's just that, developers have abused it. They purposely lock content behind a paywall, and try to pitch it as being "extra". DLC is meant to be an add-on to an already complete game. More bang for your buck. Not pay once for...
A re-release to the PC wouldn't be a bad thing - but that wasn't my point.
I'm talking about devs taking their already-released titles that were on the 7th-gen; already went through their main run of sales - and now re-releasing them on the 8th-gen systems, with flashy words such as: "Definitive!", "Remastered!" or "Complete!"
It's like they're double-dipping. You take the chip (the game), you dip in it the sa...
If you read the comments section; you will see that this has more to do with a journalist being sour about not getting to interview Dan, than it actually being a problem with Nintendo not communicating with other companies.
Considering the amount of indie developers that have constantly said how Nintendo was always generous to lend a helping hand when they got stuck trying to figure out the consoles; yeah - this is just a sensationalist news story that's blowing it WAY ou...
I honestly don't know why so many gamers get overly-concerned about this stuff; despite it not having ANY EFFECT on the outcome of the product they end up ranting about.
It's great to share your opinion, true; but more and more people are starting to take it on a personal level; as if they helped create these things!
Mr. Negativity strikes again!
Wow; you must be fun at the parties.
My eyes are on that Blog Prize! Won 2 so far; let's go for 3!
