Should be interesting to see where this goes. I don't know what to think of the gender difference, but maybe the alleged female design might be Linkle? Or something similar...
As for the voice-acting, Aonuma recently said that it was something he was CONSIDERING. Even if he did decide on it, wouldn't that take a while to record dialogue?
If they "gave up on the Wii U early", why would they still be going to these lengths to make use of its features?
Just take a seat, son.
No, you're the example of what the kind of "fans" the author was talking about!
Again; blowing Nintendo's situation out of proportion. Of course they've made/making mistakes — every company does. But when you just keep focusing on their mistakes and belittling/flat out ignoring their successes, it just makes you look like a pessimistic grouch.
I always look out for your comments. Never disappointed.
If you think that the Wii U is going to have the shortest lifespan of any home console, then it's obvious you just got here, bud.
Nobody but Nintendo knows when they plan to truly phase out the Wii U. Analysts and "hardcore gamers" believe the NX is coming out this year, but Nintendo hasn't said jack about that.
It's one thing to acknowledge shortcomings, and another thing to blow them out of proportion.
The majority of the time that someone makes a comment about Nintendo on this site (or any gaming-related site, for that matter) — it's usually something condescending. I've even seen 'positive' comments that look like a sly jeer just because there's some words of judgement carefully added to the mix.
Am I saying it's wrong to judge Nin...
My point is, most patent filings never see the light of day as an actual product. Companies file patents all the time, but everyone has been losing their noggin lately over EVERY single patent that Nintendo has produced lately.
Goodness, so I guess every patent automatically equals NX feature?
Patent filing =/= real-world device. Companies file patents ALL the time, and the majority of them never see the light of day. Usually this is done when someone has a nice idea, and to avoid that idea being stolen, the company legally makes it their property.
They started this re-branding from since last year in a lot of retail stores. "Wii U" and "3DS" sections were removed and replaced with "Nintendo", along with new renders of their popular characters against a red background. Now they've recreated the logo with the same pattern. It looks good!
Red is one of the most used colors to attract attention. You're automatically going to notice it, even if you're not looking for it (that'...
I'm keeping my original resolve; they need to time this right. The console HAS to be in a good position to launch.
One of the Wii U's main issues was the fact that the system wasn't filly ready at launch. The OS still needed major work, and the big games came out well after the console's release. The NX needs to be purring like a kitten from Day 1, and have a good selection of PROPER titles ready at launch and shortly after.
In addition t...
I think one of the current reasons why the price hasn't dropped is because most of the bundles that are out right now offer 2 free games. That's a $120 value. So essentially, you're paying $179 for the hardware.

That's why I always get a good laugh out of the Nintendoomers; you guys don't make a penny off of your 'hard work' of moaning and complaining whenever you seem to get the chance.
Nintendo has been in the console business for 30 years. In that time, even during dark periods, they've never been in any sort of notable danger. The industry has continued to blow any minor issue out of proportion for years now (seriously, this has been happening from the 90s),...
Nintendo stopped losing money on the Wii U in early 2014. But of course --everyone-- conveniently forgets the good news and keeps spinning any and every little detail into something negative.
Yeah, the character models look really good. There are even individual tufts of hair on characters like Lucario. The game still looks good, even with a bit of grain.
All the visual effects from the attacks really distract you from the rough edges. I also find that playing on the Gamepad's screen also makes it look noticeably smoother.
As long as they're in the console business, then Sony and Microsoft will be taking note of Nintendo's presence. Just because the fanboys that run rampant on the Net love to give the finger at any and everything they don't support, doesn't mean the actual companies they "fight" so hard for are as small-minded as them, since it's the companies who actually need to be paying attention.
I was the reviewer of Pokken for this same website (Nintendo Enthusiast).
The amount of characters does not change. The only characters that you do not gain access to until later are Mewtwo and Shadow Mewtwo (who's unlocked via the amiibo card). The developers also stated that they don't have plans for DLC (that may change, but who knows).
In all honesty, I can't agree with you with your statement that the combat is basic.

You obviously haven't been paying attention to the news...
They are, lol.
All of Nintendo's systems carry the company's name in their full title titles. It's just that most of the time, they're casually referred to by their direct names.
So the game is technically running at 1200p? Dang.
As someone who's sunk so much hours into Splatoon, I'm totally game to use the second screen. I don't care about the visual quality; you're playing the game to have fun, not to sit there and masturbate to the screen.
