I take it you didn't read the article.
I'm sure Nintendo must have shared some details with them by now; the console will be out in less than a year. I just hope GameStop features it prominently.
I have visited many GameStop stores around the US and 9/10 times, the Nintendo section is pushed off to the back or side. It's like unless you're actually coming in specifically to look for something in it, you wouldn't see it. Meanwhile, PlayStation and Xbox are plastered everywhere.
In all honesty, the Adventure titles are sorely overrated, IMO.
Let's be honest, outside of the Sonic levels in SA1 and the Sonic/Shadow levels in SA2, did you really have fun? The only other redeeming quality was the Chao Gardens.
I've owned the system since December of 2012, and I've loved it. I'm not sure how big my collection is, but between retail titles and indies, I've been quite happy. The Off-TV Play and TV Remote features are great to have, not to mention the Internet Browser and Miiverse are pretty nice too. There really aren't much games that I would consider to be "ugly" on the system, especially when the majority of its exclusives are drop-dead gorgeous.

Oh, so you commented on the site and here to. Mind giving an ACTUAL reason why you think so?
The Wii was backwards compatible, yet they still went through the trouble of making a port.
EIither the NX version will bring something new to the table, or it may not be backwards compatible—we'll see.
I think this could be the game that Criterion was working on. They've been silent on that for eons now.
The future of the company most certainly does fall on the NX's success rate. Nintendo has been pushed further and further out of the picture since the days of the N64. If the NX flops, I'm really not sure what they're going to do as it relates to console creation. They won't go bankrupt, but their reputation will take a serious nosedive.
"Our next system is going to cost a bit of money. So, let's make sure they a reason to save their money; not give them anything to buy this year!"
That was a joke, but that's really how it's starting to seem.
If you're tired of Nintendo "rinse-and-repeating" ; titles, then how do you feel about 95% of third-party devs?
And, how do you feel about Sony/MS? 7 Uncharted games in 9 years, yet 6 Zelda games in the same timeframe (3 if you take out the handheld titles). 5 Gears of War titles, yet 4 Super Mario games (the main series) in that same time-frame. Just giving an example.
I'm not saying he's wrong; but just like a weatherman, this is only a prediction.
If the NX is the Nintendo system that finally has NO roadblocks, then I think third-parties will at least be interested. I don't think that's enough to sway them fully, though. 20+ years of damaged bridges between third-party devs and Nintendo, combined with the established markets that those devs already have on PS and XBOX—I think the only way Nintendo can guarantee full thir...
No thanks. I still have a backlog of games to play/buy. I intend to pick-up a PS4 later this year, but not because I'm done with the Wii U, primarily because I want to see how the NX turns out first before jumping in.
Man. The doom-&-gloom articles are coming out full force yet again. I find it amazing how it's been 3+ years, and not only are we STILL getting the --SAME-- articles, but they CONTINUE to get the most attention.
Is the Wii U the perfect console? Nope. Do I regret owning it? Nada. 200+ hours in Splatoon alone. I don't own any game outside of an indie that I haven't logged at least 30+ hours in.
Pro-tip: Too much salt can kill you. ¯...
He's been with Nintendo for quite a few years now, so he knows the inner workings of the company and market trends. He's only been in power for a few months now and he seems to be making stellar progress.
As someone who's owned the system since a month after its launch, this is a major burn. Even so, I'd be lying if I said I haven't been enjoying my time with the system. I still have a small backlog of titles, so all hope is not completely lost. I'll be picking up a PS4 later this year, may get the NX at some point later on, but not at the beginning.
I've been on this site for a few years, and I've always tried to look at the "Glass half full" when it comes to Nintendo.
Unfortunately I can't defend this. This is the stupid kind of stupid (yes, you read that right).
That's how it's seeming.
Official statement from the briefing: "Nintendo is currently developing a gaming platform codenamed ‘NX’ with a brand-new concept. NX will be launched in March 2017 globally"
The Dreamcast was HEAVILY marked down in price within a year, thus the reason why it ended up selling so much. Retailers were trying to get rid of the stock.
If they can get all the latest multiplatform games with no compromises, in addition to their exclusives, I honestly think they'll have a chance.
Hi there, I'm the writer of the article (and many others that are from NE).
Our name is more than appropriate. All of writers are longtime Nintendo fans. But that's the thing; a real fan (of anything) knows it's okay to cast judgement when necessary. If all we did was write 'Happy!' articles all the time, that would make us look unrealistic. If a topic deserves a little critique, then we write about it.
And it's not like we're ...
