It's called an "opinion piece" for a reason. :)
Nothing like this has happened before in the home console industry. The closest thing to this is the New 3DS vs the original 3DS. That's why it's such a hot topic.
EDIT: To everyone saying that this happened in the 90s with the 32X and SEGA CD....No, this is not the same. Those were add-ons, not entirely new systems. On top of that, they failed, so using them as a point of reference only hurts the situation.
Well this should be a no-brainer.
There could be four PCs in one household, and chances are they're all vastly different from each other. On the other hand, there could be 20 PS4s/XBOs/Wii U's in a single neighborhood and they would all be exactly the same.
Consoles were created for the sake of being simple, efficient gaming machines. Again, this is a no brainer.
Huh? Mr. Kimishima hasn't even been in power for a year yet, but he's been doing a VERY good job. One employee leaving = mass hysteria? As if people don't change jobs all the time, right?
Considering Nintendo has been keeping all of their major announcements under lock-and-key, I don't see how they come off as "seeming lost".
The level of melancholy seems to increase daily on this site.
I really can't see a good reason for this. The true reason I think it's coming out is to handle VR better; VR needs power and the current PSVR titles that have been shown off are very simplistic, at best.
Outside of that, there really isn't much reason for it to exist. I HIGHLY doubt it will be running games in native 4K, and even if it did, there are still far more folks with only a 720/1080p TV. In the end, the PS4K/Neo just seems like an option for those who ...
Some people don't mind playing at 30 frames. Of course 60 is smoother, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to play a game at only 30 frames. Seriously, the exaggeration unnecessary.
"Everyone" may own a PC, but that doesn't mean that they're all gaming PCs.
There are BILLIONS of PCs out there, and the majority of them are not full-fledged gaming standard.
I really do wonder if we're going to see a new traditional handheld from Nintendo. The 3DS has done very well, no doubt, but it's still the lowest-selling Nintendo handheld in history. I'm not trying to be negative (I own an XL and I really like it), but there's no denying that mobile has taken a huge chomp out of the handheld industry.
I honestly think a hybrid system would work well. It would give Nintendo's ailing home console sector access to the gr...
InB4 "Sonic Adventure 3!!!!!"
Sonic 2006 is more than likely going to be the closest thing we ever get to SA3 (the gameplay style is almost completely the same). That said, I honestly think both Adventure titles are overated. Seriously, raise your hand if you HONESTLY like anything about those games outside of the Sonic/Shadow levels and Chao Gardens?
SA1's multiple arcs were pretty much just padding (why was the Big arc even a thing?), and...
I've actually been enjoying the game. Anyway, controversial controls or not, Star Fox has always typically been a small franchise. I mean, think about it. The series has been in existence for the past 20+ years, and there are only six entries (seven if you want to count the 64 remake on 3DS). On top of that, these releases have been spaced out on a generational basis. So yeah, Star Fox has NEVER been a big franchise for Nintendo.
Well for starters, it's a video not an article. Secondly, this is a response to a rumor.
Wait; I posted this article a few days ago and it got taken down in a matter of minutes. But NOW it's up?
N4G mods, you can kindly go screw yourselves. :)
I owned the game since launch. I'm quite fine with the controls.

Nintendo isn't really having much of a presence this year. Looks like Zelda will be their one and only playing card. That's not a bad thing, but they're pretty much taking it easy this year.
As a writer of the site, I have to say you're really pushing the exaggeration meter here. In fact, if you actually READ the article, you'd see I gave a very positive outlook, while still maintaining balance by including the very real challenges that face Nintendo and the NX.
Negativity is one thing—discussing facts is another.
Considering that all three companies are in the same market, trust me, they all "care"—they're all after your money. Nintendo has always done things its own way. That doesn't mean it doesn't care, it just prefers to walk to the beat of its own drum.
I believe it's unnecessary. The only reason I think these consoles are actually coming out are to better support VR.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep on the lookout for repetition in my future pieces.
Yeah, just video content. Games will now have HDR.
