My issue with a new one: It's gonna be the same gameplay, the graphics will be new and fresher.. Not a bad thing for those who like it, but for me it's gotten stale. Diddy Kong Racing did the single player at least, far better in my opinion.
Completely agree Retroman, most games today are simply better looking versions of the same stuff, recycled over and over. When they do something new, like for example Half Life 2 did in 2004 with the physics and very interactive world, it was fresh and exciting. Now many games take what came before and update the graphics and that's about it, or sometimes have less stuff than in the previous games even.
A new Conker would be nice too, and a new Diddy Kong Racing would make a nice change as well over the standard racers like Mario Kart.
Interesting device but if you have a decent gaming PC it will perform far better (obviously) so unless you take it out with you often it's kinda a waste, unless you play in bed, and that's awkward given its size if you're playing lying on your side at least. The last handheld consoles to be able to do that comfortably were the Vita and 3DS.
Games on good sale are cheap enough via Steam usually anyway, or via a key site to activate on Steam.
Hadn't played any since MP1 and played the newest one, it's really good. The other ones with the shared carriage I wasn't a fan of that I'd seen online though.
I think 1 or 2 of these is enough per system as long as it has enough mini games, replayability, maybe some unlockables and a good selection of boards/maps.
I liked the style of the original Oddworld games, Alien Trilogy was a little underrated as well IMO.. Basically a lot like Doom but with aliens. There were a lot of great games on the PS1 though.
Yeah I wouldn't imagine it being all that great even though I didn't try it, the successor should likely have more decent hardware to do it at least reasonably half decent, for first party titles anyway. Probably still wouldn't be a patch on a decent PC VR headset like a Quest 2 or 3 though.
Current gen is already hitting against limitations of their hardware, as per DF and Hardware Unboxed's recent videos.
Nintendo will likely be fine as long as they stick to first party games that aren't too demanding, third party titles that are demanding will likely run not too good tho, since they're already hitting limits of PS5 & Series X, while games still mostly run decent, they are starting to have more locked frame rates, dips, or even lower resolutio...
Already tools being made for generating landscapes, this "ban" if it even exists, won't last.
I heard the game has poor performance on PC even if you have decent specs, don't know if it has been patched since. Also heard it's short.. But yes, it does look atmospheric, also an interesting time to release this given the ongoing legal drama in the USA at the moment over possible UFO/alien materials. Can't believe there's an actual bill on the government website.
More options is always better, it's also a bonus for those who own a decent PC as well as a PS5 already.
"With the new CPUs current gen are rocking"
They're not new, however they aren't really "weak" either, it's just they have clock speed limitations compared to desktop due to console formfactor. The chips are also 2 generations behind now and we've had decent IPC advances since then. Any demanding games will show the limitations of the consoles. It's just common sense, and it's what always happens with consoles.
Can't stand boring ass games with garbage turn based combat, I think Worms was the only game type I enjoyed that had turn based combat.
Lack of kb & mouse is another issue.
I would just avoid big open world games in future that you're not sure about. I like long(ish) games if they are not too big to get lost easily, also makes it worse if the world is quite empty, this is why I prefer them to be a bit more linear but with good challenge and a lot of stuff to do.
I remember the huge ass boxes PC games used to come in, Half Life, Worms 2, Virtual Springfield, Sonic R.
I can't remember what the first game was that I bought that came in a regular DVD like case, it might have actually been Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Not too bothered about not having a disc for PC, probably because the game gets tied to your Steam account most of the time anyway, so you can just download it whenever. Otherwise yea I would probably prefer...
Always thought it was meh, there's far better games with actual real time combat
The only way it can be done (IMO) is if they can release a machine that can do something completely different to the other consoles, otherwise it'll just be another PS/Xbox like machine. What that would be, I don't know..
However with the AI we have today they could make a pretty amazing Seaman style game even now.
I prefer the look/style of these than the newest one tbh.
