Graphically it looks quite nice. And I believe this is the first time they're using a new engine rather than a previous one.
Gunplay always felt really good with the KF games. My only complaint with this game and similar ones like L4D is that they become too predictable after a bit, so it gets quite boring. If the game doesn't have AI learning then at least give the enemies more methods of attacking players.
VS mode didn't work in KF2 because ...
Your comment is accurate, except the viewing distances which should be a bit further away. You need full view of the screen without having to move your eyes too much, and certainly not your head, if you're playing multiplayer games that might need faster reflexes.
This might be a good game but I certainly like the pixel style Shantae games, like the newest one that's being worked on again. I don't agree that it won't be viable in future. There are also AI pixel art generators to convert your images to pixel art style which I'm guessing will get even better soon.
I imagine more people will be going PC, especially now that UE5 games are struggling to run well being upscaled from just 720p on PS5.
End of the day it's the only GPU that can play at 4k DLSS upscaling from 1440p or native 1440p at 80+fps. It's either that or you get something decently priced like a 6700 XT and play at 1080p. Either option is still better than the consoles.
This is looking good, might be the first Sonic game I'd have bought in a while tbh. I only hope it has a good amount of content, and that it is a good challenge. I thought the Rush games on DS had decent difficulty ramping so won't be disappointed if it's not an easy game to complete.
All UE5 games that I've seen are heavy on the hardware for some reason, whether it's poor optimisation or what, upscaling is required unless you have a decent/high end graphics card then you can play at 1080p/1440p native or 1440p/4k with DLSS. PS5 is barely holding on upscaling from 720p, Series S is upscaling from even lower resolution than that and at lower details.
It can run at 4k using DLSS Quality mode at 80-90FPS which I believe is actually 1440p upscaled, i think? The consoles according to DF are upscaling from just 720p and have dips as low as 40fps, at least on PS5.

I wouldn't like to see how series S runs UE5 games. They're pretty demanding from what I know so far, you need a powerful higher end GPU on PC to consistently keep above 60fps. Someone did a decent comparison video here, granted it's only one game, but still. https://youtu.be/FbJA-P3sRg... even the standard consoles will struggle with all the dips going by this DF video 949d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment
The sad thing is the physics and world interaction are still pretty good today, because hardly any other game bothers in those areas.
I personally found turn based games kinda garbage. Worms was ok during the dial-up days because the multiplayer was fun and a lot of strategy involved.. Anything else I can't think of, Mario Party is fun but other than the board it's not really classed as a turn based game.
High GPU pricing is taking effect through consoles now too by the looks of it.
Isn't it 30fps on Switch? Super embarrassing.. How can it run 30 even on that?
Hot damn, this came outta nowhere! Nice surprise.. They actually beat Valve to the punch of a new L4D. I really hope it's using UE5.
My complaint with KF2 and even L4D is that it gets too repetitive, don't get me wrong it was one of my fave games but enemies became too predictable etc, something like AI training/learning would go a long way in a game like this.
I kind of hope there's a COOP campaign mode from the off as well to spice things up...
Have to say it does look quite nice. Not a fan of frame generation though but can easily be turned off.
Yeah that would be great, would really showcase the power of PC as well just like the first game did.
Short sighted take.
The answer is, if you have money spare and it's in your interests for the uses you'll get out of it, bearing in mind you can do plenty of things other than gaming, then yes.
As I said in the UE5 article, fanboys will always say "PS5 super powerful" and "doesn't need upgrading"
"not taking full advantage of current gen yet"... Yea, UE5 games and Starfield aren't hitting bottlenecks already right?
Same here
I could go some Worms games, especially for online play during the dial up days. But that is about it for me.
It's overdue. My issue is gonna be if they recycle the same tired stuff. There's quite a few dormant titles they need to bring back, if it's the same Mario Kart with no DKR style single player then it's a no buy from me. There's only so many times you can keep recycling the same game and only upgrade the graphics and that's it.
