I wonder if it's worth playing this over Black Mesa, I guess if you want just the original game then it makes sense. Both games probably run well on potato hardware these days though.
I wonder if that means some games will be VR only again.
I just want them to go back to their roots where the majority of their games are made for a modern mid/high spec PC.
Yeah. It's bound to look and run noticeably better on PC if you have a decent rig, like the UE5 games do now. But those that want to double dip console & later PC it's not really an issue.
Hopefully they have online crossplay too for consoles & PC, IDK if 5 already has it or not.
They have to be working on other stuff. I'm just slightly disappointed they took so long to get stuff out on Source 2. Nothing wrong with the way it looks, but they're not pushing as much as they did in 2004 for visuals. I don't mean for them to release a game as demanding as Crysis that was more meant for future hardware, because IMO that's a poor thing to do. But at least meet halfway so you need at least a modern mid-spec or high ish spec PC to run it well while looking gre...
Damn that original menu screen is classic for sure. Makes me think of my first PC which was a prebuilt from Time.
Wonder if anything for a new Half Life will be revealed anytime soon.. Or any other Valve game for that matter.
Looks like they decided to go straight to main consoles rather than GBA first. Cool, wonder if this will get a physical release or if it's gonna be a limited run, I might keep my 2 copies of Pirate's Curse for Switch sealed, they're worth quite a lot these days.
Lmao how greedy can they get, sit on piles of cash and still want more. Then they have the cheek to release half assed remasters.
Yeah HL2 did push systems fairly hard but as far as I remember it wasn't as hard as Crysis was with the frame rate drops. It's never a good idea to think that you can buy a high end GPU and CPU and shove every setting on maximum anyway, if you do that you can get much worse performance than with slightly lower,
but still way above console level settings & performance. See Alan Wake 2 DF comparison for example where a 3080 was giving 2x more frame rate than PS5 at equival...
Ugh why do I get the feeling Valve are not going to target higher end systems anymore with their games. 2004's Half Life 2 while demanding, wasn't quite as heavy as say Crysis. In comparison Source 2's HL Alyx was nowhere near as demanding.
Not saying I want anything that runs like crap on good systems, just wish they pumped up the visuals a bit. It could just be because they were so late releasing stuff on the engine, it looked very pleasing in 2014 with the l...
Indeed. I would certainly rate UK as a top country when it comes to authoritarian style nonsense.
I'm curious to see how it runs on Series S, likely look a bit like ass but it will be interesting to see nonetheless, with some PS5 games already upscaling from 720p I don't know how Series S can go lower unless they really cut back on texture quality and even more on resolution.
I doubt GTA 6 would only be a minor visual upgrade over 5 for it to better cope with the hardware either.
If it were good it would work with the original digital model, but then again people knew what they were buying so..
Lower resolution is the common way for console games to run decently when compared to PC, even the main consoles are scaling back a lot on the resolution they upscale from now, then other detail settings.
So this doesn't get more obsolete each year? Considering it can't even run a demanding game, not even at crappy frame rates, that's a poor statement.
This is practically made for mildly demanding games at lower settings or non demanding games. If you think this or consoles are immune from needing upgrades, then you're completely wrong. DF showed even just a 3080 pumping out 2x the frame rate running Alan Wake 2 vs a PS5 at the same settings.
Some may not want self aware robots/AI but I do, and so do many others. The faster the better, as it will help with curing diseases among many other things. The world will change hopefully mostly for the better, because right now it's heading down the toilet with all the wars and authoritarian snowflake crap ramping up.
@shinoff no I mean it will likely be on next gen as well as this gen. Could be wrong but given that the current GTA launched on 360 & PS3 I'd say it's a good bet. UE5 & Alan Wake 2 are already pushing the consoles too hard with compromises on resolution they upscale from, other settings and fps.
They will probably strike a decent (ish) balance on consoles to prioritise performance, if at all possible. Only thing we can do is wait and see for comparisons vs P...
Yeah and it will likely be on next gen consoles as well, it will probably push the current ones too hard if I had to make a good guess. But we'll see.
Yup, mouse and keyboard is almost essential for certain games, just like a controller is for others.
I tried those chilli heatwave ones just yesterday, really nice tasting. Not really all that spicy, just a little bit. Kind of like a slightly spicy tomato taste.
From the rumours I've been reading it looks like it wants to be like Vice City but with a San Andreas kind of scale.. Speaking of that I also saw rumours of wanting to add in RPG elements like SA had as well. I have to wonder why they didn't just stick with what worked with San Andreas and expand on it in the first place.
I used to like making CJ fat and have him running around in his underwear, it was funny because my sister's boyfriend always got pissed off wh...
