@_LarZen_ It's not too late. If we have that attitude then the greedy publishers have already won. Articles and comments themselves won't change what is worryingly becoming the norm, granted. The intention is to bring attention to these practices so that people can make an informed decision as to whether they vote with their wallet. That, ultimately, is what will work.
Personally think you're right - they're starting to garner an unpleasant reputation. Only point I disagree on is Rayman. Ubisoft Montreal can do little wrong in my book and Origins and Legends were platforming masterpieces.
Ridiculous viewpoint.
"Trophies are the least important thing when it comes to appraising a game."
"Having said that, Trophies are an essential part of the PlayStation experience"
Contradiction much? They're not essential at all. In any way. They are surely, in fact, the least important thing when it comes to appraising a game?
Good news, been interested in this game for a while and will be good to try it on PS4. Nailed on PS Plus game, though.
Think it may be a little early for a new Elder Scrolls, but you never know! Fully expect DOOM and Dishonored 2 gameplay, though, and pretty darn excited for both.
You're misunderstanding. This is an opinion piece, so there is no requirement for the source to be solid, since it's neither news nor a rumour. An opinion can be based upon anything, whether a confirmed announcement or a rumour. It's a discussion piece.
Nintendo have to show up with the NX. They have to!
Don't they? :S
As Neonridr says. With any luck it'll help keep their offerings more concise without all of the s*%& that usually accompanies their press conferences.
Cannot think of anyone better to develop this than PlatinumGames. Cautiously optimistic.
I'm in the same boat. Haven't yet got around to The Witcher 3 but it's definitely top of my list for this year. Damn PS Plus keeps suggesting I play average games just because they're included in my subscription!
That said it's always tempting to wait for the GOTY editions these days, because they're inevitable.
@MasterCornholio Yep, of course, but I meant I reckon that this is the beginning of a beautiful, and long term relationship between Kojima and Sony. Sony will do their utmost to tie him to PlayStation for a while yet :)
I'm intrigued by the idea that he does something completely and utterly different. Female protagonist wearing a thick winter coat, no story-line and bombastic gameplay?
Nope, cannot see it.
Hasn't he done that already?
Agree completely. A developer's size doesn't necessarily directly impact on innovation and creativity, although it is harder for individuals' ideas to shine through in larger teams, where there are layers of bureaucracy. As you say, though, it's the publishers forcing unrealistic deadlines on devs and always chasing the success of the last "big" game, that are responsible for many of the issues.
You need to kick him off! Nobody should miss out on Fallout 4 and Tomb Raider for this shallow drivel. Don't worry - he'll tire of it soon enough, I'm sure. It's not just the lack of content, but the mind-numbing simplicity and repetitiveness of the game.
Horrible to admit it, but the article is right. As long as "we" - the broad gaming community - keep buying these shallow games bereft of content on release, EA will keep making them. No point then chastising them as terrible company.
Agree 100%. Human Revolution was badly overlooked, but it was a truly worth reboot for one of the most renowned series of all time. You cannot get a bigger compliment than that!
Ouch - Timesplitters. Think you're spot on though, sadly. It was criminal that Timesplitters 2 wasn't more commercially successful. Best FPS ever in my opinion.
Jade Cocoon was a fantastic game with so much potential. Would love to see the series make a proper comeback...dream on, right?
Agreed, that was a spectacularly impressive miscalculation. They had to pull it pretty damn quickly, didn't they?
They're probably making notes - need to be less obvious, more insidious next time.
