I agree that Capcom by no means started this, but they have built upon the dubious foundations constructed by other companies. Activision is the publisher of Destiny, though, so they'll be the ones making those sort of business decisions.
The difference with Street Fighter V, in my opinion, is how it's completely divided critics and consumers, and yet will probably escape relatively unscathed. Regardless of whether the extra content is charged for or free, we are stil...
I dearly hope that you're right. It's up there for me too. If it can manage to keep the foundations of Human Revolution, and build on the story and world established, it could be incredible. Fingers crossed!
How on earth did you manage to stay invested long enough to platinum it!? X)
@Kalebninja - Thanks, you're probably right. Really hope so! That would just about sort me for 2017 I reckon :)
Has it been confirmed that CD Projekt RED are attending?
I'd forgotten about that restart option to be honest. Still doesn't stop Vice City being my favourite of the series. That soundtrack was epic!
What? It's not a statement, the article is asking a question and then discussing the wider topic of linearity in games. What's stupid about that?
I'm sure it will be stellar - nobody I'd rather see taking over than Druckmann. Still, I kind of would like to know what Hennig and Richmond had in mind for us...maybe someday that script will see the light of day?
Agreed. Although this may be the end for Uncharted, I'm hopeful that this sort of narrative-focused, linear approach taken by Uncharted 4, but with more expansive levels, comes into vogue. I'm tired of the open-world saturation.
Not too fussed about another DmC, but definitely agree with Onimusha. Hoping Nioh will satisfy that lust.
The Vita really is a great piece of kit with a great library. I still feel slightly guilty that I never picked one up, but just could never quite bring myself to. Don't know why.
Have to say I agree with you in principle. The issue and sad thing is the dominance of these annual mainstream franchises in the sales charts, though. The vast majority of innovative games are still stuck on the fringes, looking with bemusement at the often broken, repetitive goliaths still commanding attention.
I really enjoyed watching these two at DICE 2016, even if we didn't get anything solid about Kojima's next project. The bromance really was palpable, and somehow inspiring.
@ShadowKnight Street Fighter V must be in with a shout. It's had a pretty smooth release, right?
Bit early to say, but it'll almost certainly be in the running.
I was cautiously excited for Uncharted 4 before, but this new trailer really blew me away. It speaks volumes that Neil Druckmann is at the helm as Creative Director. He did an incredible job with The Last of Us, and Uncharted 4 looks like it's set to be an emotional, action-packed rollercoaster ride. Cannot wait.
They are so slow moving and it's ingrained in their culture, now. As the article states, I wouldn't be surprised if the masses of crud shovelware on the Wii U was a misinterpreted warning to them.
I agree, it was a shame there wasn't more encouragement to interact with things around you. That said, it was a generally well-told story, and Campo Santo should be applauded for a fairly unique premise, in my opinion.
Classic approach. Screw your eyes shut and hope the problem goes away. Works every time...right?
