Most...convoluted...April fools...ever!
I'm excited about the new direction that the series is going in with Primal. At first it seems a shame that we won't be torching villages with flame throwers and bombing around in buggies, but I'm hopeful that the tribal warfare and greater focus on the world's wildlife will make up for it.
@UltraNova Always the sensible option anyway :) I was lucky enough to play it at EGX last year, and really liked what they were doing with it. The combat still wasn't anything to write home about, but the parkour action is better than ever.
First game was really divisive, but there's no doubt it had a lot of rough edges, and the gun combat was woeful. It did have an incredible atmosphere and aesthetic, however. Hopefully Catalyst will realise the original's potential.
Ideally not broken on certain platforms on release, as Skyrim was. Great game, but that seriously put me off.
I'd just be standing peeking over a ledge at the streets hundreds of metres below. No way I'm making that jump, no way! :D
Definitely care about Mirror's Edge Catalyst - looks super slick and will hopefully fully realise the original's squandered potential. It is likely that it will be overshadowed by the goliaths such as Uncharted 4, though, as will be the fate of Homefront: The Revolution.
Thanks for your wonderful insight. I'm sure the feeling is mutual all round.
Agreed. That's the big question, isn't it? We're all getting excited about a new Crash, but who is going to bring him back to life?
Not much to take, really. Next gen will allow for more believable worlds...very insightful.
In other news, the gaming landscape will be markedly different in 10 years' time.
I want to believe.
We won't have any of those this year, guaranteed. Maybe over the next six or seven years?
I'm not usually a fan of HD remakes of last-gen games, but I'd definitely buy a polished version of RDR with Undead Nightmare bundled in. Absolutely fantastic game.
Love the wild creativity that comes out of Global Game Jams. Not sure I could keep inputting dialogue at 4am though...
Great list. Local multiplayer is woefully under-represented nowadays. Very sad. These are all great, but whenever I have mates around for local multiplayer I still dig out the N64 and PS2 for some Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64, Timesplitters 2 and Mashed.
@frostypants Although I'd hesitate to say we follow a "model" at all, but if we do it would be to write articles that interest us, and that we believe will be of interest to the gaming community. We like to comment on what we perceive to be issues in our industry, and spark debate within the community. We do not copy any other video game site.
Also, there is nothing clickbait about this topic. The title is not misleading; it conveys exactly what the article is a...
Do you mean THE sh*t raven?? I hope so!
Onimusha was a fantastic series. Really hope we do get a true successor at some point in the near future. Nioh has a similar appearance, but looks like it plays a lot faster. Looks awesome nonetheless!
Indeed, although I can't fathom how they could be crammed in, even if they wanted to! Guess that's why I don't work for EA or Ubisoft.
Absolute number one - without a shadow of a doubt: no toilets! No frigging loos!
