Aside from the hand-to-hand combat and the parkour movement, I believe GTA IV did everything better than Sleeping Dogs. The melee combat was also a much bigger focus for SD than it ever has been for GTA, so it had to be damn good. I especially could not stand the arcadey driving controls in SD. The vehicle handling is such an important part of these games, and it just feels like an afterthought in most of them. You can tell Rockstar really spent a lot of time perfecting the driving for GTA IV...
You can't have it both ways. VGChartz still shows the PS3 1.6 million units behind the 360. So you can't go by that fishy report that projects the PS3 has outsold the 360 and go by VGChartz weekly numbers as well because they contradict each other.
Yes there will be and there will be console wars in the comments of this article.
It does amaze me how well the Xbox 360 continues to sell over 7 years into its lifecycle. According to NPD, in December the 360 sold more than DOUBLE that of the second place console (Wii U or PS3?) with 1.4 million units. That is incredible. This gen has been a massive success for the Xbox brand, tripling sales of the previous console and gaining so much market share. Rockstar tops my list of developers by far. No company is more passionate about their games and nearly every single title they release is of superb quality. GTA IV and RDR top my list of best games this gen.

I don't think we'll ever know who sold the most this year. You have VGChartz estimates showing the PS3 ahead this year, but they also showed the PS3 ahead last year while Microsoft and Sony's shipment numbers (aka the REAL numbers) clearly showed the Xbox 360 selling more worldwide in 2011. And in 2012, Sony began combining PS3 and PS2 sales in their quarterly reports, so there's no way to know exactly how much the PS3 sold in this close race with the 360. I don't know why...
It's also not the most awarded. The Walking Dead is well in the lead at the moment and Dishonored is tied with Journey for GOTY awards.

Weird... Last time I bought a box of rocks there was a Nintendo 3DS in there. I assumed it was a mix-up at the factory but now I'm curious.
It seems to be back and forth between the PS3 and 360. In my opinion, the 360 had the better lineup in 2008, the PS3 in 2009, the 360 in 2010, the PS3 in 2011, the 360 in 2012, and the PS3 in 2013 from the looks of it. Unfortunately, the only exclusive I cared to play this year on my PS3 was Journey. I'm definitely looking forward to next year though!
LOL, you have got to love user scores! 90% of the reviews are 0s or 10s and many are from people who have never played the game.
I love Red Dead Redemption's rain and thunderstorm effects. You can actually see the storm clouds approaching from the distance, and the way the lightning flashes in the clouds along with the wonderful thunder sound effects really adds to the immersion. I hope the weather is realistic like this in GTA V as well.

I think GTA IV may finally be topped as the highest rated game of this gen. Wow! A game with the same level of quality and detail as GTA IV, but with a much more diverse open world. Could we have our first 100 on Metacritic?

I agree. I have never laughed so hard while playing a video game as I have while watching "I'm Rich" on GTA IV's in-game TV and surfing the in-game internet. Rockstar are comedic masterminds.
