This is a completely unfair comparison. Sleeping Dogs is not even in the same league. GTA V is ridiculously polished and has absurdly high production values that almost no game can match. I know everyone loves to root for the "underdog" but GTA V is far superior to Sleeping Dogs in virtually every way possible. Of course with the exception of the fighting mechanics, which are the main focus of SD.
Maybe he's trying to win this:

You need strong third party support, which Nintendo is severely lacking, to back up the exclusives. Last gen Nintendo got away with it because of the whole motion control fad. But when 90% of the big third party releases are not coming to your console, then it doesn't matter how many exclusives you have, because it won't be able to match the other consoles' lineups.
Why was the PS2 so successful? Third party. Why was the Xbox 360 so successful? Third party. No GTA...
Wouldn't this be sloppy thirds? Sloppy seconds would have been the PS4 version that came out months after the original PC release.
As much as the 360 and PS3 held back GTA V, it still looks pretty freakin' incredible on that old hardware and better than most current gen games, in my opinion.
And GTA V on the new consoles is nothing. Just imagine a GTA game built from the ground up to harness the power of the PS4/XB1. I can't even imagine how incredible that will look. Hopefully we don't have to wait until 2018!
Although, I imagine a new Red Dead will be Rockstar's true op...
GTA V already looks better on last gen consoles than Watch Dogs does on current gen, in my opinion.
Far Cry 4 was easily my favorite game at the Sony press conference. It looks incredible and I can't wait to get my hands on it. And ride a ******* elephant!
"Average at best" sounds pretty underwhelming to me.
There should be more footage at Sony's conference.
From the article: "If you have played with GTA V on PlayStation 3 or on Xbox 360 you already know that there are plenty of glitches, bugs and even texture problems in the game"
I could not possibly disagree more with this person. GTA V is the most bug-free open world game I have ever played. And it's one of the largest in scope and ambition. I'm actually astonished by how bug-free the game is. They clearly spent ages polishing and refining. I can't think...
More like a billion, but yeah!
It's taking the realistic approach and also has a course editor. Looks pretty cool:

I expect Microsoft to have the better showing because the pressure is on them. Sony is in a much more comfortable position, while Microsoft is backed into a corner and that's when you come out guns blazing.
The lighting in GTA V really is remarkable. It makes the whole world look so natural and believable. The way the light reflects off different surfaces is perfect and makes every object feel tangible, like it belongs in the world. Los Santos can look nearly photo-realistic at certain times of the day and vastly better than Watch Dogs on ANY platform, in my opinion.
Rockstar truly are masters at crafting a believable open world. The level of detail in every inch of Los Santos i...
At least with a professional review, you know the person actually played the game in question. People can cry that a reviewer is biased or paid off all day. I don't listen to that nonsense. But an alarmingly large percent of user reviews seem to be 0s or 10s from people who have likely never played the game, and certainly not completed it.
Whether they're driven by their blind hatred of a certain console, or they're a huge Mario fan who will immediately review all...
Guess they want to counter Microsoft's conference airing live on SPIKE TV to a larger audience. This is shaping up to be one of the most exciting E3s in years!
@JeffGUNZ It's free in theaters.
I don't see how Rockstar extending their trademark is any indication of an impending announcement. That's just standard business practice.
I don't much care for Aisha Tyler as host, but I'm excited to see the Ubisoft press conference because they tend to have the games I'm most interested in. I'm very excited to see Far Cry 4 and more of The Division.
I just can't imagine any developer being able to create an open world as rich with detail as GTA V. Rockstar basically gets an unlimited budget and unlimited time to create their games. Sure, Watch_Dogs will have higher-res textures and whatnot, but they simply won't be able to match the level of detail that Rockstar packs into their worlds, with every single building being unique and handcrafted.
There's just something about the look of GTA V, everything looks so...
Never would have guessed that!
