Metacritic does not pick and choose the reviews on an individual game basis. There is a set list of publications whose reviews are included for every game. They tend to include more well-established and trusted reviewers, whereas on N4G people submit reviews from unknown blogs and so on.
Hopefully it will only be 98 days from today when Fallout 4 is unveiled at Bethesda's pre-E3 conference.
I had not even considered a cross-gen Fallout 4. I hope all of their efforts have been on the new hardware.
The Order has only been out one week. First week sales were never going to be affected too greatly by reviews. The people who buy on day one and have the game pre-ordered know what they want. But any legs the game would have had have been decimated by the critical reception. Word of mouth goes a long way when it comes to future sales and will cause this game to plummet off the sales charts very quickly.
GTA V is one of the highest-rated games of all time, and also one of the best-selling games in history. The series is more popular and higher quality than ever.
Furthermore, your comparison to Saints Row makes no sense. GTA V does not have super powers (outside of cheat codes) and Saints Row does not have a first person mode.
This is a pretty strange article considering The Order's user score on Metacritic is 67 versus its critic score of 66. They are almost identical...

Titanfall had a very good reception with an 86 on Metacritic. You're right about the others, though.
Exactly, and that's what will kill The Order in future sales. Of course first week numbers were going to be big regardless of the game's quality, with all those pre-orders locked in. But there's bound to be a very sharp decline in sales after that.
Early sales won't be affected very much by the reviews. It will be word of mouth that kills future sales. As for Colonial Marines, that is connected to the Alien franchise, and history has shown that licensed games will sell even if they're crap. That doesn't apply to The Order, so its best selling point will be its graphics. We'll see how far that can take it.
2005 - Forza
2007 - Forza 2
2009 - Forza 3
2011 - Forza 4
2013 - Forza 5
2015 - Forza 6
You weren't expecting to see a new Forza this year?
The reviewer elaborates on that:
"Unfortunately, it fails even as pure eye-candy. I was impressed by the visuals in a couple of sections in the game—a brief bit atop a flying airship, or a kitchen shootout that sends pots and pans nicking and popping about under a hail of bullets—but The Order is mostly drab and dark, drenched in rain and shadow. The fidelity may be high, but artistic vision is in short supply."
Seems like a fair critique to me. Als...

How do you know God didn't give him the money? He may have prayed one night and woken up to find a wad of cash under his pillow the next morning. ;)
Anyway, enjoy the game, JoGam!
PS2 - 150 million
Xbox - 25 million
^ THAT is why the Xbox 360 is generally considered to be a much bigger success than the PS3. The Xbox 360 came in as the underdog against the almost unbeatable PlayStation brand. And from a combination of Sony's early PS3 mistakes and Microsoft's smart decisions, the Xbox tripled its market share, while the PlayStation's was cut in half.
The Xbox 360 became the lead console for the majority of developers...
Yes, TIME has a video game section and yes, they review games. This is nothing new.
I hate to break it to you, but Giant Bomb does not even score games on a scale of 10. And they are one of the most respected sites in the gaming industry.
This reminds me of when Bethesda sued Mojang for using the word "scrolls" as the title of their game:

5 hours? 8 hours? 12 hours?
Wow, it's almost as if different people play at a different pace. But no, that's crazy!
The Wii U slouching not too far behind MS? 9 million in 2 years vs. 11 million in one year. The Wii U is incredibly far behind. The Xbox One is one of the fastest-selling consoles of all time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe only the Wii, PS4, and PS2 sold faster.
Rumor: Virtually no one will notice the difference
Agreed! This is a real contender for GOTY and holy wow that art style. This could be one of the best-looking 2D games ever made. You can expect a lot of Best Graphics awards going to Ori this year.
