I would argue that the average joe with kids buying disney movies for his kids would get them on DVD because why spend money getting them on Blu-ray unless they too are big disney fans? I am sure the kids are really going to care about the extra picture quality and sound that comes with blu-ray. I think adults buying disney for themselves will go Blu (if they have the money) but not if they are only buying for their kids.
His post confuses me, i am not really sure what to do with it. Could the agrees explain please, then i can decide if i should agree or disagree?
Its not just me, look at the disagrees. It is just that the majority of your posts are easy to pick apart. And the fat joke was just that, that isn't the reason why i think movies shouldn't be on one disc. I just don't see having more than one movie on a disc as a justification for having massive amounts of disc space, therefore even trilogies don't justify the need for monster discs :-D
Also check out the post a few below this one, i don't just pick your stuff apart. I don't like ...
Did you know that microsoft are also the ones that covered up the UFO crash at Roswell and they hired the shooters on the grassy nole! Microsoft are behind everything :-P
Why would you want star wars or LOTR trilogy on one disc? I have the extended version on DVD and that comes on about 60,000 discs and it isn't a big deal :-P The only reason i can see for putting multiple movies on one disc is so the fat kids don't need to get up to change movies. So i am against multi movies on one disc because people need exercise :-D
I would have to agree with sabbath here, if the format war was over then you wouldn't be able to buy HD-DVDs or HD-DVD players anymore. I think this will end up like the mac and pc. But since you are obviously very good at predictions would you mind picking some lottery numbers for me?
Very true, it is like someone saying HD DVD is microsoft's format.
A comment that isn't laced with fanboyism and actually makes good sense! They are becoming an endangered species around here. Bubble for you!
Most of you still don't realize that the vast majority of people that watch movies don't care about HD. They are not going to spend money on HD when they can up-convert a DVD and be very happy with it. Those of us that care about HD are in the minority, a very very small minority. Plus caring about HD has a nice little price tag attached to it and reality check, not everyone has the money to have a nice home theater setup with an HDTV and HD source.
EDIT: @mighty i totally a...
That is such a stupid comment. Only a tiny part of the consumer market owns a blu-ray or HD-DVD player. They are going to drop DVDs to make a few million people happy? What about everyone else? Most people don't want to switch away from DVD because the other options are far too expensive. Give your head a shake and stop with the stupid comments!

What was point of your comment except to try and start people flaming back and forth? A prime example of a waste of space comment.
EDIT: Dammit i just realized i wasted my last bubble on you! There is so much good commenting to be had in this thread.
Why and how do threads regarding the HD DVD and blu-ray always get the 360 and the PS3 dragged into them. They have absolutely nothing to do with it, unless you are talking about the PS3 by itself because it is a blu-ray player too, but why is the 360 being mentioned (i am not talking about the add on here)?
Last time i checked (2 seconds ago) the blu-ray and HD-DVD players are getting roughly the same reviews. Picture is sweet and so is the sound. So where did you get your information from regarding how superior blu-ray players are? The only bad thing about going with one of these players is that one format could loose. Or they will just truck along happily next to each other. Who knows!
What percentage of the market own HDTVs that accept 1080p24, let alone 1080p? Mine sure doesn't and it is only a year old! I was looking at this Blu-ray player though because i do like the samsung products. Right now though if i was going to go buy an HD player i would go HD-A3 because i don't need 1080p and because at futureshop right now you get a total of 9 movies free whereas i would only get 5 with the the sammy and it costs more. Also the reviews comparing the HD DVD players and Blu...

Last time i checked 720p, 1080i were high definition too, therefore your statement is flawed!
Some people really are sad (we could also insert "losers" in there too). Who gives a crap about 80 pixels!
Cool that is good to know guys, thats for the good references :-)
Many of the posters in here should ask themselves that question :-P f7ss1 comment was aimed solely at HD DVD if i read it correctly so i am aiming it also at the Blu-Ray group :-D What gives with the huge defense of ones beloved format?
plus stand alone players look much nicer than a console (PS3 or xbox 360).
I think one of the biggest problems right now is that a large part of the HD/Blu market is made up of gamers. The winner will be decided by everyone else. It will be interesting to see if they pick HD or Blu. Lets face it, right now more so with Blu-ray that HD-DVD, a vast majority of their players are in the hands of gamers. It is my opinion that gamers don't decide which way a format war goes, its the average home theatre consumers that make the decision.
