I say good for toshiba for not rolling over and dying but it isn't the best thing for the consumer. Good personal effort for them, but it is too little too late as one other person said. It is time for one format and i don't think HD DVD is going to be that format.
Why won't all of the consoles have a good year, that is my question? All have a good install base, all appeal to a wide number of people, and all have good games. I think they will all do great in 2008.
Richie, you make me chuckle. Bubble for you :-D DarkSniper's post is very fanboyish. There is nothing wrong with liking a console but there is no need to make up junk about a competing console. The whole news statement made me laugh.
I guess some people like the little extra bits that come with it. I went with the normal version personally, i wanted the game and thats it. A little helmet and some bonus discs isn't really worth it in my eyes.
Agreed. One format would be nice now. Time for toshiba to start making blu-ray players and all is good.
Buying loads of HD DVDs makes way more sense than signing a silly online petition. Companies don't care about names, they care about money.
I returned my A3 and movies that i got on boxing day. After the Warner announcement i didn't want to risk having a player that wouldn't have any movies in a few months. I got full money back for the player and store credit for the opened movies.
Isn't this old news? I don't think it would take off even if they did though, to many people already have xboxs.
I think all fanboys are bitter, so you get an agree from me.
I agree with you but use less caps next time :-P
I am not sure about downloadable content, i like to have something physical. I won't even download and burn a movie because i want the real case. That might strike some people as strange but i like having a physical movie collection.
@ the disagrees - so there are people on this site that don't want mature discussion? Good to know! Most of the comments are people flaming away, it is very lame. There are some good comments but more are trash and are only meant to provoke or irritate someone.
Most of the comments in this thread are total garbage. Come on guys, you are better than this. Lets have some mature discussion!
I guess you could say it was a gamble if you were buying the PS3 solely for playing blu-ray but if you bought it as a gaming machine then i don't think it was a gamble.
Makes sense, it is all business to these guys. Their move was based on making money. I just hope we have one format in the next few months with 100% studio support. Then i can get all the movies i like :-)
It is some kind of rocket train!!! I can't say the fan in my 360 bothers me but then again i play all of my games in glorious surround sound. If i could hear it over that then something would be wrong.
When i read that title i thought something was up until i realized it was comparing the HD DVD add-on and the PS3, not the PS3 and the 360. I am surprised it is only 10 to 1, hasn't the HD DVD add-on only sold between 150k - 200k in the US?
@Lynx i don't think any xbox 360 fans would try and spin anything because the HD DVD add-on hasn't been very popular. If you wanted an HD DVD player why not get a stand-alone for $50 more?
It confused me too dude.
FYI The line graph that they use is horrible. If you handed that in for an assignment in a university stats class you would get a nice fat F on it. There isn't even a time scale on the bottom, it looks like something might have been crossed out though.
Doesn't matter anyways because who really cares about sales, i just thought i would let you guys know about the graph.
Thats pretty cool, now the fantasticness of Halo is available to more gamers. It is a win win situation for everyone.
EDIT: Haha i love the disagree. Is someone mad because Halo is now available outside the xbox universe?
