Seriously though, are you kidding me? Is the side boob offending people :-P
As far as i know the panny bd50 will be the first profile 2.0. It will probably have a fairly large price tag attached to it though unfortunately. I wish blu-ray would move closer to hd dvd prices. They would sell way more players.
I am not sure if the PS3 has the ability to support TrueHD and DTS HD over hdmi (bitstream) with a firmware update. Maybe someone else around here knows. I just know that right now it can't so i am going to grab a stand alone player that can do what the PS3 currently can't.
I don't buy a player to last me a year or two. Just because they aren't mastered in DTS HD doesn't mean they won't be in a few years. Foresight my friend. Plus i want the signal to be bitstreamed via hdmi because i would rather my receiver do the decoding rather than a standalone player or PS3 of much lesser value.
The PS3 still isn't up to par though. I personally have to wait for a profile 2.0 player that can bitstream TrueHD/DTSHD via HDMI. I want all the glory of Blu-ray, not just part of it. Panasonic BD50 will be the player to go with!
Maybe hardcore was the wrong term to use then. I was just trying to highlight the fact that if you don't go standalone then you are missing out partly. I know lots of people don't have receivers that can receive TrueHD/DTSHD via bitstream or multichannel PCM over HDMI, but for those of us that do, a media center like the PS3 just isn't up to par.
Lots of people still say they have sizable HD DVD collections, just take a look at AVSForum for a few minutes. There is nothing wrong with having a large HD DVD collection because many of those people have both formats and have either a dual player or two standalones. I think it tends to be more "hardcore" (for the lack of a better word) collectors that still talk about HD DVD collections. But one thing that doesn't get mentioned on this site much is that many blu-ray supporters ...
Once again agreeds all round because who cares? In a blind test, very few people would notice and/or be able to tell the difference. Play the game and have fun!
Could be true i guess. I know if my xbox live had been down and i had a PS3 i would have used that to game online.
This seems a bit out there. Just make sure that if you call them regarding a dead console you skip the monkey that answers the phone and talk to the supervisor. It is easier to get what you want because supervisors can actually do more than what is on the monkey's little piece of paper!
Good call but most fanboys on this site don't seem to understand that businesses aren't run by fanboys
A very good point dude. I don't see why people are making a big deal out of this. Microsoft and Sony aren't a big corporation of fanboys like lots of their supports, they don't care about rivalry and mine is better than yours, they care about making money.
I think it is time for some stupid psychologist to say something about gaming again so that we can band together and stop hating each other :-P
Check out this review, best one of the bunch!

Mass Effect has turned me into a sex crazed zombie. I just wish I had never played with that damnable devil-machine. I can't sleep or eat anymore... I'm up all night, craving digital sideboob. This book features no sideboob.
That is fantastic! I want to hear a response from her. Say you acted like a complete tool and we might stop posting bad reviews :-P
UPDATE: Her book is now ranked #209,473 :-D I love it
Come live in Canada. They don't repair broken boxes here, they just send you a new unit :-)

Thats cool, i thought it was going to be over half way through but they just kept going!
Thats great. Reviewing her book without reading it is just what she did so power to all those negative reviews :-) Stupid woman!
Unfortunately though for the PS3 it just doesn't have the games library, that is however my opinion. The games i have most recently purchase: Bioshock, Halo 3, Mass Effect. PS3 doesn't have anything that can touch those titles, especially Halo 3 online and Mass Effect for scfi RPG.
