It's supposed to be, though. Remember this is Capcom's take on Namco's fighters.
The next game, Tekken X Street Fighter will be Namco's take on Capcom's fighters. Given that the Tekken engine doesn't rely on projectiles I'm very curious to know how that will work.
Also, I can't wait to pair up Sagat with Bryan (assuming Bryan won't be on-disc premium DLC in Tekken X Street Fighter).
I was just about to ask the same thing.
Looks like they're about to get it on or something....the loin-cloths are what threw me.
They're still decrypting the data. As they mentioned on the site his HUD details, weapon info, scripting details were also there. They just showed us the basic screenshots for PROOF because they knew people would probably defend BioWare to their death.
Doesn't really matter, though, EA could get to the point where literally half the game is locked away on disc requiring a DLC key to access and people would still defend them.
If they get away with it ...
PlayDead, Rockstar, Bethesda, Team Meat, Mojang and Valve also make money but they do so in a way that just about every gamer approves of.
Why is it that a company has to use underhanded tactics to make money? Why can't they deliver a good product and let it sell?
And what's more, what's up with today's gen of gamers defending everything these companies do???
It's nearly an $86 billion dollar industry across the board and...
Could it be that the DLC itself was the mission structures and content and not necessarily the character?
EDIT: Also, I was just thinking, why did Casey Hudson lie then and say it couldn't make it onto the gold version of the disc even though it did? And why didn't they just explain about the hooks? Did they just get a case of the Capcom head-cold and forget?
I really, really want to know how the DLC defenders will argue this one.
Finished content purposefully put away as DLC just like SFxT. There's no excuse, it was consumer gouging straight and simple.
They don't BattleTorn.
Within every BioWare game the Engine uses a specific feature called "Love Talk", this originally started in Baldur's Gate and the points increase/decrease based on set parameters within the conversation.
"Love Talk" points add up until you can "cash them in", I don't think I need to explain what that is. If you don't say something mean every once in a while the "Love Talk" points ...
I'd prefer to show her my control stick...it's really massive. Keeps the aliens away, too.
This game looks smoking hot.
We don't get enough hardcore medieval games like this, loving it.
I always thought Prototype was a generic man's version of Infamous.
The one thing that keeps a game fresh are the small nuances; the way characters move, react and interact with the world around them.
Sucker Punch did a great job of ensuring that inFamous felt interactive and atmospheric, which was the thing Prototype was missing. Based on what I've seen of P2 it looks more like generic, bad-guy shooting and in that regard, I think it's probably...
I was thinking the same thing.
Getting pinned down as a foot soldier would have a whole new level of immersion when they tell you that aircraft support won't be available until like 10min...then some ace pilot has to try to hurry to get to your location to provide aerial cover. Straight-up awesome.
This engine could open a lot of doors for video game interactivity, and just like you I can't wait. Great time to be a gamer...assuming you're not a fi...
I don't think someone properly played L.A. Noire.
It's already in other games like CoD, Halo, several racing games and most sports titles. I don't understand why Capcom somehow failed at implementing a feature many other third-party devs have already included in other games people have already played.
First the on-disc thing and now failing to deliver what was advertised.
I love how this company shrugs off everything and keeps counting the dollar bills.
Yeah I noticed everyone who isn't for this is getting one disagree.
Either it's a Capcom employee trying to run damage control or a fanboy who has gone so far over the edge that he has already sold his soul to Capcom and must defend them to the death, even while they rape him of all his money with DLC.
Nah, nah, they wouldn't charge for crouching DLC.
They might charge for rolling DLC, hyper-jump DLC, and super-jump DLC.
They might even charge for quick-down-to-forward DLC....oh wait, they already are.
Seriously, though, guys, you need to spread articles like this as if it were a wild fire in a dry bush.
Tweet it or Pinterest or Reddit it as much as possible. I think most people would be against this kind of gouging if they just knew it existed.
Capcom was brazen enough to admit to their on-disc scheme because they knew majority of their sales would come from casual gamers who don't frequen sites like this and every other niche site that broke the news ...
He may not be a real gamer.
On the Gamefaq forums they found various users on different forums/websites/etc., making "pro" Capcom messages. Most of the messages were all the same but some of them by different users.
Supposedly, (and the thread and moderator who found this out was banned/deleted) Capcom's damage control consists of having PR-types raid articles like this and try to quell the outcry and make it like people with common sense are ju...
Capcom and free DLC don't belong in the same sentence.
Besides, Capcom said there would be no Super/Ultimate/Hyper/Technical /Herp/Derp/Turbo Edition, they purposefully mentioned the on-disc DLC would be a replacement instead of releasing multiple iterations of the game.
They'll simply charge extra for stuff you already paid for.
Dude, they already have.
There's more than just the 4MB of files, but if you feel that's all there is to make you feel better then that's fine.
They were just showing the 4MB files as a comparison to the other character file sizes as well. Just like a lot of people jumped to the defense of Capcom after the epilogue and prologue movies surfaced for SFxT, saying that they were just movies and there was no reason to get up in arms. Turns out, there were characters, and moves, and GEMS, and ...
