No one makes such a good pure adventure games anymore like The Longest Journey series. Too many gamers today seem to think unless they can shoot, something is wrong with the game. Games like The Longest Journey series are good storytelling. Closest "adventure" games today are called "Action Adventure" which focus too much on action by killing or blowing the enemies up along the journey. No game developers or publishers today dare to make a new classic adventure games that ...

Same with me. I stopped buying any new games today at the release day. Just about every game shipped today have some kind of nasty bugs. If I'm going to buy the game at full price on the release day, I want to enjoy the game, not having to deal with the bugs.

But too many gamers rather buy the game on the release day and live with the bugs because it's difficult for them to wait.

So, game publishers see shipping games with full of bugs as acceptable p...

For X360 games, how do Redbox control how well renters handle the DVD discs? I rented DVD movies several times that were very scratched and couldn't play certain parts of the movie. If some X360 renters moved their console while playing the game, you know what that does to the DVD disc.

Good old days, not that long ago, DLCs were developed as post new contents for the games. Now, DLCs are a way to move part of the original game contents to be sold for more money.

It seems announcing DLCs before the game is out has become more common now. For gamers who don't care about the total cost of the game, this can be good marketing.

For those who hate having to pay more for the DLC, this can also be useful to know ahead that the actual cost of th...

While what you said is true but able to patch games at post release has gone out of control. When the game cannot be patched after release, the game developers and publishers had to try to polish the game the best they can (not saying they never released very buggy games) because if the games have nasty bugs, it will effect the sales forever.

Now, because it's too easy to post patch the games, there isn't much of a reason to try to do good testing before releasing the...

Doing good testing before releasing the game is part of the process. But game developers and publishers know there will be plenty of gamers who can't wait to buy the game immediately will be doing the "free" testing to find the bugs. Save them money and time having to do it.

Reality is any gamer who must play the game immediately should expect they will be the ones paying to do the testing. But if you don't want having to deal with the bugs, wait and let the...

There will always be whiners who can't wait and then whiners when the game has bugs.

Which is better? I choose delay the game until it's more polished. Then, the delay becomes a positive experience.

If you don't like bugs like this, why don't you wait for a few weeks after the game comes out and patched before getting it?

Just about every game released today has some kind of nasty bugs until they are patched. While not everyone encounters the bugs, there's no guarantee that you wouldn't see it. That's the price of rushing to play newly released games immediately. Game publishers know with all the hypes, they can always sell buggy games. It's all a...

Is Sony going to continue to say updating to the latest firmware is "optional" if you don't go online as they used to say?

Is it better to ship a game on time with bugs or wait longer to have a more polished game? You can't have both.

Somehow too many gamers seem to think they can't wait and want the games to ship as soon as possible and then rather complain why the games have so many bugs.

Good timing to slow down the pirates from playing popular games released in November.

Same with me. I still have some very old game saves in my backups since PS3 launch.

Some responses said play the entire game in one sitting. Well, not everyone has the time or wants to blow through the entire game just like that. I take my time to play most of my games. More enjoyable than rushing through the game just to say, done already in one sitting.

I like to hear from those who have unlocked and beat every possible thing in the game to 99% completion a...

I got in the habit of making a copy of my saved game file after each chapter or making several hours of progress in any game.

That is the reason I hate games that have console locked saved game file. Making full hard drive backup each time is so impractical because it takes 8 hours to backup 200GB of data.

Does Castlevannia have console locked save game file?

I agree with the article author. I'm also willing to wait because I don't like spending over $100 for the game and the DLCs. Another advantage of waiting for the complete edition is most bugs will be fixed by then.

There will be always gamers who must get the game and each DLC immediately by paying the full price for them. But they are also those who complain about spending too much after the complete edition comes out.

It's as simple as those are...

What is the real meaning of Collector's Edition anymore? How long can you keep the special collector's items? If they are physical items like bonus DVD disc, figurine, art book or metal case, you can keep them for as long as you want. When you sell your Collector's Edition, everything that came out it can be transferred to the new owner.

But now, most Collector's Editions have special DLC which is gone once the code is activated. Unless you keep your account t...

Gave OnLive a try on Assassin's Creed 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction. Not impressed. Whenever I use the mouse to pan the camera, it's very jerky. On SCC, I can control Sam with the keyboard when it's moving but once he's in the ducking at the corner, I lost control. The mouse for camera pan is still quite jerky.

OnLive feels like playing games on PC again, no way to guarantee the graphics is always smooth. On my PS3 and X360, they run much smoother than OnLine...

Just love to read gamers are so easily sold by the hypes before the game is out. I'm referring to any games.

Why do gamers think if Nintendo has "Wii HD", it will be enough? Assuming "Wii HD" has hardware capability of PS3 or X360, the real question what is the point of owning another similar capability console? Motion control isn't unique to Wii anymore.

What Nintendo does have is the "family friendly" brand name.

I like to hear what Best Buy excuse is when they updated your PS3 and the new firmware disables certain functionality on the PS3.

I'm guessing their excuse is you don't need it or it's bad for your PS3 security.

Then again, anyone that clueless about how to update their PS3 firmware probably will be clueless.
