One Sony executive said the PS3 should have been priced even higher (I know WTH!). Sony thought that that PS2 and PS1 gamers would blindly follow to the PS3 with the exceedingly high price point just because it has the word Playstation on it. Sony stole the motion sensing idea from Nintendo then denied it. Sony first ridicules motion sensing when Nintendo unveiled it then a month later Sony adds motion sensing to their six axis. Not only are they arrogant but they are liars and unorginal. <...

Still laughing that the Wii has outsold 360 and PS3 combined for most of the year. And the Wii has totally destroyed 360 and PS3 in Japan. All the while people say the Wii is just a fad or gimmick and will die soon. HAHAHA funny. Some people are so irrational.

Anyone in here willing to bet me that the Wii will outsell the 360 and PS3 by a huge margin this Christmas season?

The Wii is so much of a fad that is has outsold the PS3 and 360 combined for most of the year. HAHAHA.

Wow, all these cliche anti-Nintendo-isms. When will it ever end?

The Wii is not a fad. I seriously question the level of intelligence and rationality (and maturity) of people who continue to say it. Nintendo Wii sales have been hot since day one and has been outselling PS3 and 360 combined (except for the past few weeks because of Halo 3 pushing more 360 consoles). The Wii is the fastest selling console in history, that's a fact. When has a console ever been so hot that just qu...

How do you know Nintendo paid Capcom for exclusivity?

6715d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah, how dare Capcom try to make a profit to keep itself going.

6715d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

Yeah, they should have made it for the PS3 because I wanted to see prettier, sparklier graphics (sarcasm).

It was a smart business move for Capcom. Smaller development cost and larger install base equals higher chance of making a profit. It's a no brainer. They could have made it for the PS2 but maybe Capcom wanted to full utilize the unique Wii interface for the game; and plus maybe they thought it would sell extra well on the Wii since there aren't any other games like it on ...

I have said this before and I will say it again. Improved graphics does not automatically entail improved gameplay today. Graphic capability of all new consoles this generation can realize a developer's vision without compromising the gameplay mechanics. Even for the Wii. Halo 3 and Bioshock could be made for the Wii and even the Xbox, albeit with downgraded graphics but the core gameplay mechanics wouldn't be compromised.

Sure increased graphic capability was essential before,...

Why do many people insist that the Wii is for casual and non gamers? The Wii is for everybody. Even Nintendo explicitly said it was for everybody.

I mean seriously, would Zelda: TP and Red Steel sell over a million if there was all but casuals and non gamers buying it? Would Resident Evil 4 sell 400k plus? Would Metroid Prime 3 sell over a half million?

Nintendo is smart not to SOLELY focus on the 12-30 male demographic. They are focusing on everybody and their m...

Wow, over 200 posts (at this point).

I don't have time to read everyone's post but let me just say this, all indication shows that the PS3 will not become number 1. The reasons why are as follows:

1. Just about every console and/or handheld each generation the least powerful won. PS1 outsold N64 and Dreamcast. PS2 outsould Gamecube and Xbox. Gameboy (with the spinach graphics and without a backlight) outsold Gamegear. Today, the DS is outselling the PSP and the ...

Some Wii Brain Game packed in with the Wii. Pretty cool. I see Nintendo is sticking to trying to bring in non gamers.

The Wii is just going to get bigger and bigger. The Wii doesn't have many good 3rd party exclusive games and it is still outselling 360 and PS3. Just wait until the good ones come out in the next few months. Zack and Wiki, No More Heroes, Medal of Honor 2, Nights etc. Companies have jumped on the Wii bandwagon because they know the Wii momentum is not going to end anytime soon (it's like a freight train that won't stop), production cost is low, and they can experiment with independent-like ga...

Sony and Microsoft are the Republican and Democratic parties (which are really the two butt cheeks on the same butt) of the console business which do things just to appease hardcore gamers. While Nintendo is the smaller Independent party which is all about new ideas, moving foward and appealing to a broad base. They don't cater to just one base (hardcore gamers) to win votes.

The stores I have visited that have Wiis in stock were part of $400+ bundles. Stores that didn't bundled Wiis were sold out. I guess people weren't willing to spend so much money no matter what they will get. That's understandable. Costumers know that stores are trying to make extra money off them by exploiting the high demand of the Wii. I think that's just wrong.

I'll wait until or if it comes down to $250. In my opinion, it's not worth to buy a console that cost more than that. I have bills to pay.

Mandrake, not only are Microsoft and Sony adopting a business model, but it's also a horrible one. Sony and Microsoft have lost tons of money on their "next gen" consoles and they are losing more every day.
That's why I disagree that Microsoft and Sony have little to gain from copying Nintendo's business model. How many consoles do you expect Sony and Microsoft to make if their strategy hasn't made them $1 dollar in net profit? Shareholders are going to be grumbling about th...

With all that money, Nintendo should buy some new developing teams/companies. If I were the President of Nintendo, I would bribe/buy the most talented developing teams to make games exclusively for their consoles. I've read they have recruited Yasumi Matsuno, the creator of Final Fantasy 7 and Vigrant Story. But Nintendo can do a lot more to have the most and best exclusive games on their consoles. With the tremendous momentum Nintendo is riding on they should push for total domination of the...

Why would Nintendo drop the price of the Wii when it is selling out? Nintendo will eventually lower the price when demand is lower than supply. Until then, Nintendo will not lower the price considering the core principle of every business is to maximize profits.

Microsoft and Sony are lower the price on their consoles but they are losing even more money on every console sold unlike Nintendo which is making $20 - $100 on every console sold. It's a horrible business model. Sony ...

Nintendo is not selling out there long time fans. Nintendo have been making games that appeals to everyone since the NES days. The most "hardcore" franchise I can think of off the time of my head are the Zelda series. And Nintendo hasn't stopped creating new Zelda games.

With the momentum Wii has I doubt 360 will win this generation. Microsoft is now trying to appeal to casual gamers but it's not going to work. The perception of the 360 as a hardcore console for 12 - ...
