I'm betting Wii U Zelda will have co op play option much like the Galaxy games. One person controls link while another person can play Navi (or whichever sidekick) with the Wii U tablet and can help Link out with gathering rupees or stunning enemies or search for hidden treasures.
I can see a lot of creative gameplay possibilities with the tab contoller.
For example, it can be used in local multiplayer in a Mario Kart game like Double Dash where a player drives using the wiimote and the other player on the kart aims and fires projectiles. This is better than split screen.
Or it can be used as an extra set of 'eyes' or visor like in a Metroid Prime game. Face the tab contoller at the TV screen and you can see something diffe...
Major hit franchises such as 2D/3D Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Smash Bros, Paper Mario, Zelda, DQ X, and key 3rd party games they moneyhatted for like that Lego City game, and X casual game included with the console will push a lot of Wii Us. Will it sell more than Wii? Who knows but I think selling over 50 million will be a sure thing with those popular franchises.
If this Wii U is priced right I think it will be a beast in sales.
The general public loves novel ways to play games and the Wii U offers it. If you have seen the Ubisoft Wii U developers conf. they novel ways to play. One game used it like a virtual reality. Awesome.
I also think Nintendo is smart to jump on the Ipad hypetrain with Wii U.
Of course it is not next gen it is instead NEW gen. Seriously, I think debating to label it next gen or not is ridiculous and unimportant. 95% of the gaming population doesn't care and neither do I.
That said after unimaginative fanboys and some developers call it a gimmick for several years they are going to say how cool it is after Microsoft and Sony adopts the Wii U concept.

Nintendo shouldn't worry about a thing. The PSP2 or NGP is an over engineered mess that will sell much less than the PSP. Moreover it will be overpriced. There is no way Sony will have it debut below 350 bucks.
3DS is going to totally destroy PSP2 or whatever it is called in sales.
This thing is going to cost at least 400 bucks which will price it out of the mainstream audience. In fact, I think this thing will be less successful sales wise than the PSP because it will be so pricey.

Honestly, I didn't enjoy the game at all. It was so unpolished compared to Nintendo made games. I guess I'm so accustomed to Nintendo's high standards. This game needed another year of development IMO.
The high sales of the game are a sign to 3rd parties they can succeed on Wii if they hype up and market the game even if the game is mediocre.
It is likely Nintendo paid Capcom for console exclusivety.
