Is this a joke? Hurting Steam sales is hurting their total sales.... that is how total sales works.
That is true. The year gap between consoles and the PC release is the main reason for the low sales. However I would argue that cock blocking Steam for a month also hurted their total sales.
I don't know. Based on what I'm seeing here and other internet spaces people's expectation are not very uniform. Some have pretty realistic expectations while others are certain that those machine will offer $1500-2000 value for like 400 bucks.
You don't understand the scale. A server graded SSD have much higher profit margins than a consumer graded one, because they are build to be more reliable and are somewhat more expensive to manufacture thanks to being less "stacked".They also have a high replacement rate because technology is flawed and limited to a certain number of rewrites that together with the need for much larger storage capacity make them extremely more profitable.
Plus that doesn't...
The point is there is no way that Sony or anyone else would get this sort of memory for 3 to 4 times less than the retail price. As this is a highly sought after part that is sold to multiple market segments some of each are far more profitable than consoles like datacenters and the overall corporate segment. Even nand flash that is by far the most common and cheap type of memory will not have a wholesale price that is 3 to 4 times cheaper than retail because the demand is just too high.
A remake would be pretty cool. The core gameplay of Nier was bad and could really use a update.
This game is great. It's like a middle ground between classic Catlevania and Metroidvania Castlevania.
For this type of memory that is so high on demand on multiple market sectors that is most likely not the case. Buying in a bulk It's definitely cheaper than buying one or two units, but not 3-4 times cheaper.
Currently the best consumer grade one that you can find would be the 970 Pro. That will cost you $3.2 per GB. For the 6th generation V-NAND SSD mentioned in the article you should look for the 2019 model I however don't know if they are already available in the west, but it's production started in July so it should be. http://twixar.me/g0wT
Now if you want one with a PCIe 4.0 interface that is speculated on the art...
That is highly possible. The PC being an open platform, has numerous manufacturers of SSD, with various performances. However, being better than the best in the market is a little more difficult. Not because technology does not exist, but because it is costly. For example, the tech mentioned by Samsung in this article sells to the consumer for $ 3.2 per GB or $ 160 for 512 GB SSD.
The rumor is that those responsible for the patch are some employees of Sekai Project and that's why it was released pretty much together with the game. However, they obviously cannot admit that this is the case.
Officially they can't. Because the original japanese developers insisted in having the game censored in the west. So Sekai (the publishers) were contractually obliged to agree to said censorship and they can't create a way to remove it.
However thanks to a group of fans we already have a working restauration patch for the game.
It's either CV or Zero. But I feel CV is more outdated and therefore could use a remake.
However I would also love if they remake the light gun games as traditional RE. That would also be cool as heck.
Microsoft is kind of already sweeting the deal with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. So I would say there is a chance that they will cancel the Xbox Live Gold. But multiplayer is most likely not going to be free but rather a benefit of the Game Pass. And they don't really have a compelling reason for making it free. The service was always paid, so their community is more or less accustomed to it being like this.
With Sony things are a little different. As their service wa...
They didn't skip the original Resident Evil. It already got a remake on the GameCube and a remaster of said remake for the PC/PS3/360. Now about RE4. Personally I don't think that it need a remake, sure it's gameplay is not as fresh as RE2 but it still functional and very fun. And the visuals are fine especially on the PC thanks to RE4 HD Project.
If Capcom is thinking about making more remakes after RE3. I really hope they go for Code:Veronica rather than RE4. ...
Unless you are in Epic's board of directors. There really isn't a way to know what is their end game, but some people believe in exactly that. Epic is just going to use these aggressive tactics until they reach sustainability.
I personally don't believe in it. Because if their CEO is telling the true they already reached that point. Their store have 85 million users, 34 million of those don't even use Steam. They reported multiple games reaching half a mill...
This game is pretty solid on mobile. However the MTX might be a little too much for most PC players.
Public perception on the EGS is divided and will always be divided. Because the only thing that they are good at is throwing money around like they doing with this sale. And while some people might not know or care about that. Others do.
This sale is a perfect example of why some people are cautious in regards to the EGS. Because in the best case scenario and thanks to their 12-88 revenue split, Epic makes at best $7.2 when a $60 is sold. But in this sale they are giving a...
Such a shame. Sure it's only 4% of the total content, but is always sad to see a game getting censored.
And in this case is even sadder, since the reason for the censorship is that the original developer do not understand the western market. And believes that removing the h-scenes and even the religious imagery (that Sekai manage to keep in the game) was necessary.
It's true. Streaming is in theory the most convenient way to play. It doesn't have the need to install or download files and as long as you have a good internet connection you can use it.
That is if it's done correctly. Stadia is a perfect example of how such a convenient service might become extremely inconvenient if the service provider doesn't have a clue on how to run it.
