I'm not that optimistic for the next generation. I do believe that both consoles will be powerful enough to have their games on 4K, using high detail effects, running on 60 fps and using software enable Ray Tracing. I just don't think that they will be able to do it all at the same time. Especially because of the performance hog that is real time Ray Tracing. As even hardware enable cards suffer to get 60 fps on high details and high resolution.
But I hope that mos...
It was actually rather balanced in the first couple of years. With new IPs (Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Kameo: Elements of Power, Viva Piñata) and old franchises (Conker: Live & Reloaded, Perfect Dark Zero and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts) making a appearance.
The issue was that none of those titles really took off. Their only million seller was the original Viva Piñata and while the others got good reviews on release the public perception of them kind of shi...
That one had a pretty amazing animated trailer. But as far as gameplay goes, it doesn't look anything particularly different from any other mobile moba.
That is one of the advantages of the PC as a gaming platform. As there are no third party dealing with the distribution of the software like on a console. The lifespan of a game is only dictated by the interest of the creator or studio in keeping it running.
And even if those finally move on to other projects. Is not rare to see fans teaming up to develop new unofficial updates or even a complete revival of a once loved game.
The biggest issue that I have with those cheaper Itch.io Visual Novels. Is that the devs always put o lot of effort in making the characters looking good, but not even a fraction of said effort into making the backgrounds look good. And the result is a weird "collage effect" that really put me off from the story.
My main issue with Final Fantasy VII Remake is the episodic nature of the release. It's hard to get excited when I know that the game will not have a proper conclusion for the next couple of years. Having that in mind, my most anticipated game would go for Cyberpunk 2077. Followed by DOOM Eternal and Tales of Arise. I'm also very optimistic for Halo Infinite. The art style being closer to the original trilogy was like a breath of fresh air for me.
WTF
How I'm fighting back against VR? I'm literally saying what I think it need to become mainstream. That is the bloody opposite of fighting against it.
The overall idea make sense. Like if the PS5 is going for $450 with 9 Tflops. It would make sense for Microsoft to have a more powerful option like the Series X for $500 - $550 and a weaker option for $350 - $400. What doesn't make sense is that weaker option being so much weaker to the point that devs may compare it to a PS4 Pro...
A 8 Tflops unit with a smaller SSD would make so much more sense than the one from the rumors.
....I didn't created the rumors, dude....
Well, the dude have implied many times that he don't like Microsoft. He even took a deal to release his last game, The Witness, later on the Xbox One. So I wouldn't discard the possibility of him be talking about the Series X rather than the unconfirmed Lockhart.
Also the rumors about the Lockhart are so over the place. Like the thing supposedly target 5 TFLOPS with a Zen 2 processor. But the "devs" that has access to it say it's as powerful as a PS4 P...
The free games are fine. But saying that the EGS provide healthy competition is a joke. As they don't even allow internal competition. Most key resellers that could undercut them are blocked from doing business with EGG's keys. Games can't be compared inside the store, because Epic don't allow the consumer to express any opinion in there. And external competition is almost inexistent. As their exclusive deals stop a lot of games to being sold elsewhere.

Shame that is comes with the Atari pack. I hope they also bring the version with the Namco pack as that is, at least for me, much better.
It still is more than $500 for a Quest thanks to the low availability. Yes, it is a great device with a pretty good lens and a fine screen. But still way too expensive to become mainstream. But in any case I feel the sweet spot for any device of this kind would be at most $300.
It really isn't. As I mentioned in the op, the PSVR is competent to its price point and offer a similar experience to a Odyssey that also happens to be found in the same price range.
Now I honestly don't think they offer a experience as good as the more powerful options. And that is not a demerit because they also cost less than half of said options. However I personally believe that in order to really turn VR into a mainstream way to consume games, the focus should...
I'm sure they will definitely help. However, the main problem with VR is the price. The only way to get a really good experience with this technology is to spend $ 500 or more on a good computer headset. And that assumes that you already have a very good PC that is needed for many of those headsets. Sure there is cheaper alternatives like the Odyssey, but while it's definitive cheaper it's also so much worse.
And for consoles there is basically Nintendo's ca...
You know what is disappointing? Making a top 10 style "article" and them dividing it into 3 pages in order to generate clicks. That is disappointing.
The main issue that Nintendo have when bringing the core user base of the 3DS to the Switch is most likely its price tag. If we recall the original 3DS launch, it was a failure because of how expensive the device was and the Switch is not only more expensive than the 3DS at that point but also boost considerable more expensive games.
However the Switch Lite being considerable cheaper is most likely helping Nintendo bringing those players to their new platform.
This is art.
Everything is a trade. Streaming can be more convenient and can be cheaper (or not if you are Google). But the experience will always be less tight as gaming on local hardware.
It's definitely not a service for everybody.
Nvidia does have two new versions of the Xavier that are expected to release in 2020. Both of them are striped down models of the original, with less cores, lower clocks and lower power consumption. They are not powerful enough to make the device a 4k gaming like this consultant is suggesting. But the less capable of the two would still provide a overall 50% performance boost for the device. While the other one would more than double it.
Though between the two. Nintendo wo...
