Well, they did open up a new division focused on mobile games last year. So that studio is likely to become responsible for their GaaS offerings.
Because as far as console/PC gaming goes. The only GaaS title that they have in the horizon is Blue Protocol. But they didn't even confirm a western release for that one.
This days? No, you should not trust Kickstarter or any other form of crowdfunding for games. Not only we still have to deal with all the uncertainties that we always had, like games getting delayed or never even materializing. But now we also have to deal with exclusivity deals, what might mean that you either had to suck it up and get the game on a platform that you don't want to or after all the years of waiting get a refund - and that is considering that the devs will even offer that o...
I see were you are coming from, but I don't think that would really help the console much. Mainly because it's was not created for streaming, it doesn't offer any sort of mobile connectivity, communication features and it is a extra device to carry around.
Also there is one big issue in Nintendo themselves. They are the company that didn't allow Netflix to be on their console or even offer a proper internet browser to it. So I find hard to see them allowing...
@FullDiveDerail
The issue is not the review itself. It's how it was reviewed.For example their complains about the lack of a end game, whereas there is are none because the game is no at that point yet.
I don't think that either the Series X or the PS5 will hurt Nintendo sales. At most they will make third parties less inclined to port their stuff to the Switch.
What Nintendo will have to deal with going foward is streaming. But it will take a couple of years to it become a threat. And when it finally reach that point is likely that Nintendo would already had moved past the Switch.
To be fair, they did. Both Pokemon S&S and Temtem have the same score on their website.
That said I have to question their decision to review a early access game the way they did. As one of their negative points about it is literally there because the game is not finished. And unless they re-review it when it leaves Early Access, that is just wrong in my opinion.
I hate what they pulled with that campaign. It's clear that they already made the Switch port, as there is no way that 50k and 2 months would be enough to make it. That amount of money would likely not even be enough to cover Nintendo cartridges license fees, let alone develop a game.
It's just a pre-order page. And a way for them to make a quick buck.
The issue is not really those devs accessing the global market. But rather their consumer base being deprived of said access. Their target audience is often only the chinese. To the point that the vast majority of those games are only offered in simplified chinese as language.
What Steam allowed them to do was to bypass the Chinese government control and restrictions and sell to their chinese player base. As current normal Steam is not banned nor fully censored on China. H...
It's likely going to be a PS only game like Persona 5, Persona 4, Persona 3, etc... They release that survey every year and it always remains the same.
Well, it make sense a lot of their games were only available on Japan and only for the PS4. That as far as I know already lost its market share to the Switch.
I used the Wii U and it worked flawless. So it would most likely be fine.
No? If the rumors are to be believed that would be impossible right now.
This is one generation of consoles were both Microsoft and Sony are actually doing stuff right, there is no corners being cut with the processor nor with the storage. Both companies will likely subsidize the hell out of their devices as well. So it's unlike that any PC will be able to outperform them at that budget.
In terms of GPU they would not have a way to really make a big upgrade over the current Xbox One X while keeping the prices low. However swapping the garbage tier Jaguar CPU with Zen 2 CPU and putting a SSD on it would already be incredible upgrade.
Now about how powerful the Series X is. Current there is two main rumors. One that the Series X have more or less the same hardware as the PS5 with a 9 Tflops GPU (likely based on the RX 5700 XT but underclocked) - If that ende...
I disagree that there is no need. Because in actually if they manage to flank their competition by both sides with a more powerful hardware at a higher price point and a weaker hardware at a lower price point they would position the Xbox brand very well in this next gen. And introducing a weaker/cheaper model down the line is very risk, because it's likely that once it hit the shelves the PS5 would drop in price to accommodate for a PS5 Pro.
So at least for me if there is no &quo...
It is likely going to work like that for the first year or two of the Series X existence. As Microsoft already said that they plan to continue supporting their One lineup of consoles. But once that support drop off, they would definitely not rebrand the One X because it's hardware is just way too different to make financial sense.
For me it will really depend if there is indeed a Xbox Series S in the works as well. Because if there is, then it would make sense for Microsoft to release the Series X for a more premium price ($500 - $600) while the Series S would act as their base model offering a lower price point ($350 - $450).
I also don't think that using Nvidia hardware as a base for estimating the value of real time Ray Tracing is of much use. Because accordingly to Amd's patent on the sub...
@TheReflectedGod
I wouldn't consider that extra $30. Because the expansions are the same for Sword and Shield. So you don't actually need to buy it two times to get the "complete" experience.
Technically Pokemon already cost far more than $100 for the "complete" experience. Leaving aside the exclusive Pokemon that can be traded, Sword and Shield also have exclusive gym leaders to each version. So while it's for sure a very small piece of content. In order to have the "complete" experience you have to buy both titles and that would normally cost you $120. Then you factor in the $30 for the DLC and you have a nice $150 for the "complete" package.
Well, because they like money.
Unless the game requires special hardware. It should run on the Switch, the issue however is how many compromises in visuals, performance and/or gameplay the studio/publisher is willing to make in order to make the port happen.
