Honestly, I really wish they went with the other schools.
Like pick Uagadou, Castelobruxo, Mahoutokoro or even Ilvermorny and make a game set there with their own little twist to the magic system and flash out the different cultures that are honestly barely explored in other media.
Okay, I kind of want this.
Even knowing that PowerA controllers are a bit on the shoddy side as far as third-party controllers go.
"Still, I think is fair to say that an SSD is definitely recommended if you want to maximize your fun with this game. And that if you are running a low-spec machine if you pair it with a HDD, you are going to have a bad time."
Saying that is unplayable is a bit of a stretch and is not true to what the experts said. Hell, they literally say that it's also fairly dependent on the rest of your specs. Machines with more RAM offer a much better experience even when paired with an HDD as per the expert.
Still, I think is fair to say that an SSD is definitely recommended if you want to maximize your fun with this game. And that if you are running a low-spec machine with you pair it with a HDD, you ...
Is kind of sad really. Fanboying has always been a thing, but the lack of actually exciting games this gen makes the behaviour sort of depressing to watch as people are essentially fanboying over hot air.
Your whole argument is based on the idea that the Pro couldn't be the target hardware. My whole argument is based on the idea that it could. So we aren't really talking about the same things here.
Also, doesn't matter if it's dynamic. Just like upscalers themselves, those are crutches that should be used to improve an already solid native experience and not to fill the gaps of a lacking development cycle.
Natively and on consoles, no.
The closest to that would be running on "balanced mode", but the internal resolution would be sub-1080p and the frame rate also comes with a lot of dips.
I find this generation quite bizarre. We are already getting rumours of a close release for this "Pro" model.
But true "current-gen" titles are still a small percentage of the market, I believe we have maybe 30 of them at this point if we are really generous with half of a dozen "current-gen" DLC for some reason. And the cherry on top is that the MSRP of both consoles has actually gone up.
Like, I fully understand that technically th...
Same guys that developed Sinner, another Souls-clone with a bunch of issues both in performance and in gameplay. But hopefully, they took the criticism of the previous title to heart and are building this one based on that.
I have never even come close to China and I know it is a classic series with tens of entries and decades of history. So not really necessary to have grown up in China to know the series, though it definitely helps. As the series is fairly new to the West, starting to get localizations only about 8 years or so.
But now, between the games that got localized and the animated show available on Crunchyroll. It's quite easy to get yourself into it. Also, just for the record ...
I thought it would be after seeing the minimum requirements. That said, I wouldn't expect an amazing performance out of this one running on a Deck. Probably closer to low/30fps.
Unfortunately, the game in its current state has too many issues to recommend. The sound is kind of broken, simply stopping and requiring a re-start. The game crashes often if you don't run it in compatibility mode and the translation is shoddy (though that was expected if you have ever played anything else by this studio/publisher).
Hopefully, they will fix those issues fast.
TL;DR
The game runs at fairly low resolutions and with unstable frame rates. But is very complex visually and DF believes that it was enough to show something that outstrips last-gen software. Even though it came with a hefty price of low internal resolutions and frame-rate dips.
There are differences between the modes available. With Quality giving more foliage, better reflections and shadow quality. Motion blur is permanently locked, but DF described it...
Yeap, DF review just came out. This game gets as low as 720p on the PS5.
So performance is shit on both PC and consoles. Really an amazing feat of game development.
Is doubtful that there was even a PS4 version, to begin with.
That is definitely interesting. As I'm pretty sure I saw this game in lists of "upcoming U5 titles".
Honestly, I'm divided between the team just being straight-up bad at optimization. It might be as if they are new developers with only one mixed-reviewed previously released title. Or they are making those statements to create a buzz around the game because if we look at the actual gameplay released so far they are really hard to substantiate.
40 fps average no RT at 4k native on what is by far the most powerful gaming hardware available. Either the game is the best-looking thing ever or there is something really wrong with it.
It for sure looks. Honestly, the more I look at this game, the more I feel they just reskinned their previous release Kings of Lorn. From medieval horror to sci-fi horror. But with very similar empty rooms, similar patterns of enemies just walking towards you, similar clunk-looking mechanics, etc.
I mean Peter getting a pretty shit deal is sort of comic-accurate actually. There are lots of stories where he gets the bad end of the stick some being straight-up cruel.
