I wonder if this is to equate their service with what Sony asks for the PS Plus. As of now the prices of Live Gold are more or less the same as the PS Plus Essential whereas the GP Ultimate directly competes with the PS Plus Extra more or less coin per coin as well. The unfortunate victim in the middle is the GP Console. That was a much better deal and is now not that good anymore - still the best deal available in the region, as far as I'm aware.

Or if this is to keep...

Yeah, not a bad list.

But 3DO should be there for the huge impact that it had on the license agreements between publishers and console manufacturers. A big part of the "Nintendo exodus" was only possible because it opened the door for the later, much more competent, devices like the PS1 to steal games and publishers.

The original Xbox being listed is also odd. I could see an argument that it popularized online play on consoles, but even that is ...

@Hofstaderman

Cause it's funny to see such a cesspool. The double standards, moving goalposts, the armchair lawyers and game developers, the most "brilliant" takes that show zero understanding of tech, business, etc.

All of that makes this one of the most terrible places for real discussion. But, the vast amounts of dumb shit that come out of your and many other fanboys' keyboard also makes it a terrific place for being entertained.

Well, this is N4G.
Famous across the web as the cesspool of Playstation fanboys. So it doesn't surprise me in the least.

But given the current output of PS5 exclusives, I don't see much to be mad about waiting. If anything it probably fits the schedule of many PC players.

You are overestimating the console's GPUs.

If we go by theoretical values we also need to keep with the same architecture. So the PS5 equivalent GPU would be the RX 6600 XT and the XSX would be the RX 6700. With the first being in the ~10% of the RX 5700 XT that is being required on PC.

If we go by actual real-world performance. Digital Foundry has stated many times that the RTX 2060 Super or the RTX 2070 are the closest approximation to the PS5. An...

Well, obviously anyone that is not a fanboy would prefer to see a PC receiving those games on day one. After all that would mean that you would only really need one single platform to have access to almost everything gaming can offer.

But, we know that is not happening because the PlayStation model is selling people hardware and then milking them with software and subscriptions. So they would be putting at risk of downsizing two of their three revenue sources and while the ...

I mean, it's a high-quality game with gacha mechanics, f2p and on mobile.
I would be surprised if it wasn't a ridiculous success.

Most games should not require a beefed-up PC. They should require specs close to the lead development platform. That is why it's interesting to see a game that does actually ask for exactly that but without the actual definition of "recommended" we can't know for sure if it's well-optimized or if the developer just assumed that everyone will be playing on 720p/low.

1116d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'm interested in knowing exactly what the "recommended settings" will entail. Because these requirements are very similar to the brute power of the PS5. So comparing the two would give an idea of well optimized this game is.

Yeah, wait and see.
Some of the most popular games out there could totally be created by an AI: Third person + Action + Cinematic set pieces + Easy to Digest Plot + Simple Puzzles + RPG Elements + Hand holding.

The recipe itself is pretty easy. Yeah also helps to reduce costs and keep the game code cleaner. So I would be really surprised if we don't end up seeing games partially or totally created by AI in a couple of years. The main question is if the publish...

But it is a good thing.
It will make the game die faster and that is good. Cause OW 2 is a complete disgrace.

"That is called cherry picking"

Says the guy that cherry pick a specific set of PC VR Headsets to compare it to.

"Not comparable in visual quality"

And remember kids. If you move goalposts you are not a person, you are a fanboy and your opinion is invalid by default.

@MIDGETonSTILTS17

Don't know man, maybe the most-sold VR Headset to date. Maybe the Pico units, perhaps the newer released Pimax hybrid?

Though I'm pretty sure you gonna say that those don't count. That is what fanboys normally do.

Then why you don't link it?

It depends. What is the rest of your build and the resolution that you are targeting?

Honestly, I would prefer if they just ported/remastered Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion to modern platforms. So we could have access to the "original 3 games". Because I don't see how to really reboot Turok. It's a product of its time being a mixture of platforming/fps and puzzle.

And I really don't see all those elements being preserved on a Reboot.

If it's 15% faster than the 3060 Ti but slightly lower than the 3070. Then it most likely hit the same ballpark as the 3060 Ti GDDR6X. Which it directly substitutes and is the reason why Nvidia will stop the production of the 3060 Ti. So instead of actually making the hardware make sense. They are just making it the only choice for those that want the combo "Nvidia features" + "Lower price".

1119d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's not half the price if you have to buy a new "processor box" for another $500. That is why being stuck on a console ecosystem is an issue. The device doesn't cost $550, it cost $1050.

The only people that don't see it are the few that already have a PS5 and are also interested in VR. Which given how low attach rate for the original hardware was. Is probably not that many.

We know how sales compare based on a single data point that is not 1:1 and was purposely chosen for a reason. Hence why we need more data.

1119d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

Well, the issue with the PSVR2 will not be resolved by having more games during the holidays. The issue with the PSVR2 is one of price, the amount of people willing to pay that amount of money for an accessory is small and even for VR enthusiasts is a hard sell as the device is stuck on the Playstation Ecosystem.

But we will see for sure once Sony reveals the 5 months' sales of the headset. With that data, we can at least compare it 1:1 with the original hardware. And ...
