Drakengard made it onto the list mainly because Nier gave it a cult following later on. Honestly, it wouldn't have made the cut for any ACTION RPG list on its own. The characters are cool, the story is mess up in a good way, the lore is confusing and great, but the gameplay alone kill any chance of it being a recomended ACTION RPG.
Would love a remake of the series with updated gameplay. Drakengard 3 with Automata's hack and slash would be gold.
They did this before though. The Xbox One All Digital, or Xbox One SAD, was exactly this; they just removed the disc drive and closed the tray.
Yep, even though DD2 has its issues, it was one of the most anticipated games of the year. Releasing the port so close to its launch definitely did not do it any favors. That said, if it follows Zero Dawn life cycle, Sony should expect a long tail for this one.
I mean the core issue with AI is exactly what it's substituting. Generating visual art is a perfect example of this. Currently, if you want to use AI to generate anything short of a background, you are going to deal with numerous drawbacks. From anatomy issues in humans and animals to completely broken fonts for logos and visibly recycled styles.
But when it comes to writing, things are a bit messy. There are indeed extremely talented writers out there working on video ...
f you haven't already, consider getting 8-Bit Armies or the new 9-Bit Armies. They're made by some of the same folks from the older C&C, with very similar mechanics; it's just the aesthetics that are completely different.
Honestly, I'm still surprised that they were registered in the US. It seems to be one of the worst places to set up any sort of enterprise focused on emulators. The EU would likely provide more protections due to their much more pro-consumer legislation, while the BRICS would likely not care at all about Nintendo and their lawsuit.
Worse than that, it would probably only be Japan itself. That said, this news is very sad. It's not just Yuzu that suffered but also Cit...
It's probably not surprising to folks who keep tabs on the VR scene. It's kind of a specialized area, pricey to make stuff for, and being stuck to just one console makes it less appealing than the big-name headsets out there. But, the fact that they're looking into making it work with PCs adds some hope. Sure, it's unlikely it'll ever sell like the Quest 2 or Quest 3, but it does promise a new market and should keep the headset around longer.
The problem is that scratching the surface is taking way too long. By November, the PS5 will be four years old, using the previous gen as a ruler that means it's already halfway through its life until the PS6 comes out. So unless Sony plans to do what they did with the PS4 and bring over most PS6 exclusives to the PS5, they have just over 3 years to ensure the PS5 has a good lineup of exclusives and games.
And there's nothing on the horizon to suggest that's hap...
Probably the weakest generation so far. Cool features, good enough hardware, very few games. And a PS5 Pro will not help with that.
Played that on my phone, really good game. Don't know if I liked the voices in this version, but at the very least is a nice acessibility feature.
Sales metrics are pretty much meaningless for Xbox, and I think most people can see that. But in terms of reviews, Xbox actually did pretty decent last year. They had hits like Hi-Fi Rush (87), Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (86), and Forza Motorsport (84) all making it into the top 20 best-reviewed games for their platform. PlayStation had Spider-man 2 with a higher score of 90, but that was the only first-party title to crack their top 20.
But let's not kid our...
The Oath in Felghana is one of the best games in the franchise, and it's really cool that it is being ported to modern systems. Though I feel $30 is not a lot for this high-quality game, it is double the price of the original, which can still be purchased on Steam. bit
I mean, Microsoft is definitely not making things easy for those who were interested. Last year, they raised prices in a lot of regions. For example, Brazil saw an increase of 35% in the Series S price, making it actually more expensive than the PS5 Digital and close to double the price of the Switch.
Yep, 12 million sales on Steam, plus 7 million players on Xbox/PC Game Pass. The year has barely started and this is already a monster.
I would prefer a new IP from Naughty Dog, but at this point, I'll accept anything that is not a remake or a remaster.
I mean, they definitely fired what the corporate calls redundant positions. That is literally one of the first things that happens every time a company buys or absorbs another.
And it's really not that hard to understand. Every "support" role probably existed in both companies and basically did the same or a very similar job. So for the corporate overlords the question is why keep both departments if you can cut costs and allocate some personnel and all the wo...
Well, everything points to that being the next Xbox, whether it's the successor to the Series or just a refresh. Even the leaked device was a digital-only piece of hardware.
Not to mention that it makes complete sense with their GP strategy. The only thing going against them is the godawful way that Xbox consoles expand their storage.
That is around 7 million USD. If they earned $10 per copy sold (factoring in regional pricing, Steam cut, Epic cut, Microsoft cut, etc.), they have already made close to 5 times their budget in profits. That is really cool.
And 4 million sales. This is shapping up to be one of the largest releases of 2024.
Hard to blame you. The original announcement is almost 10 years old. The article calls it a 'long-awaited PS5 game' but when it first appeared the PS4 was barely a couple of years old.
