Yeah, I give it 8 months before they close the servers. I love Trails; in all honesty, I think it's one of the best RPG franchises and also the best when it comes to world-building. But it's not popular enough to sustain a gacha mobile game for more than a few months.

Sort of inevitable, they are becoming a service provider first and foremost. So the reasons to get their hardware are becoming less and less.

Because people unfortunately make these companies and products part of their own persona, so when they are scrutinized, they see it as an attack on themselves. There is some neuropsychological research around this phenomenon, but it basically has the same effect as religion. It helps foster a sense of community that humans need to feel comfortable. So that is not happening unless we have a sudden surge of people actually understanding how they work and taking control of themselves.

Oh, I remember this one on the Switch. Super charming art style, absolutely zero substantive action in the gameplay, basically a glorified minigame collection, and not even an extensive one at that. A bit odd that is coming to Xbox of all places, given that it`s the only modern platform that doesn't have access to a actual Project Diva game.

Sense of exploration. That was why older Bethesda games were so good. They might have had glitches, broken mechanics, meh visuals, etc., but they were some of the best around when it came down to the sense of exploration. You could go wherever you wanted and you would find something cool; it might have been a faction, a weapon, an enemy and much more. And that is what they are lacking now. Skyrim still had a lot of that, but Fallout 4 dropped it by focusing on an interconnected world and more...

I agree, although being a GaaS, it would make a lot of sense for them to expand to the Xbox ecosystem as well. These games thrive based on the size of their player base, and while Helldivers 2 is currently healthy, a few more players wouldn't hurt.

Additionally, it was the first game in the franchise to break the mold and come to PC, so there is historical significance here.

I think it's better to leave games like AC: Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash forgotten on the Wii U. Best case, they are mediocre games; worse case, they are very bad. It was a dark time for the Wii U, and the first only exists to sell Amiibo cards, whereas the second was put together in a couple of months with a shoestring budget, and it shows.

The rest of the list does have some really cool games, though. I would love to see a remake of Star Fox Zero with...

Unless they are trying to kill their recently created PC business, I would advise against opening a dedicated PC store. It's an extremely hard endeavor, and people, in general, are very comfortable with Steam. Even Epic, with their billions of dollars invested, is still struggling to find a foothold, and they have Fortnite.

Shame most of the people that made Blizzard what they were, have already left a while ago.

I don't think that is a huge thing. Hell, I would even argue that is completely not important.
Pc Gamers in general do not care about resolution that much and therefore I don't see 4K gaming becoming a thing on Pc any time soon. It's just not worth it. Even more when right now there are many better ways to improve the visual quality of your experience before going for the resolution.

From QLED, OLED, miniLED-based solutions, Fast IPS, IPS Black, bette...

It's a great idea, but I feel the execution could have been better, particularly concerning the quality of the consoles themselves and the fact that those carts are likely not going to last long, given the cheap, bottom-of-the-barrel flash memory they use.

For me, the primary concern with new software is how it's often exclusive to a new series. This not only frustrates me but also raises questions about the lifespan of the hardware. With GPUs no longer offering significant performance boosts, they rely heavily on software enhancements.

However, this reliance is contingent on developer support. When the new 5000 series hits shelves, it's likely that the 4000 series won't be compatible with Nvidia's new softwar...

Classic franchises thrive on their familiarity. While they can introduce new ideas, it's crucial that these innovations stay true to the essence of the franchise. Otherwise, it might be more appropriate to develop a new franchise or spinoff.

And that's where FFXVI sort of drops the ball for many. It doesn't offer much to old Final Fantasy fans. Honestly, I loved the game, but I feel it might have worked better as a spinoff, a new franchise, or even a reimaginati...

There's a mix of concerns. Firstly, people are a bit worried about the state of the franchise. While Final Fantasy XVI sold well, it didn't break any records or perform as strongly as other Final Fantasy titles. Additionally, with Final Fantasy VII being the middle point of the remake trilogy, its success is crucial for us to get the last part.

And, of course, there are those who like to point and laugh at the potential sales being lost due to its release as a PS5 e...

I could see this being a cool thing for Indies. But often you can do just that already if they have a patreon or something similar. For major developer companies that would be super silly, to start there is a huge chance that the devs that worked on that particular game has already been fired as the project is over. And obviously the money would not reach the developers that are still there, the suits would gobble it all up.

Also we all know that if this get implemented by...

Well, the article definitely has an edge to it, and the title can indeed be misconstrued. But the overall content is fine. It talks about the exploit that allows people to load PSP games into the system and then delves into the possibility of a Portal designed to run classic games natively.

The reality is that this is indeed possible. The current Portal is not a particularly powerful device, so any natively running capabilities would be limited. However, you can run PS1 gam...

Neon White in VR sounds like both a dream and a nightmare. It's a dream because it would look incredibly cool, but a nightmare because of how fast-paced and intense the game is. With its frenetic action, nausea could kick in pretty quickly.

Still, I hope it's true. The PS VR 2 is a solid piece of hardware, but it's lacking titles.

Discord, being US-based, is really scared of lawsuits, especially since their legal system tends to favor the bigger, more resourceful parties. So, they're just covering themselves in case Nintendo decides to take action.

Hard to blame you. The original announcement is almost 10 years old. The article calls it a 'long-awaited PS5 game' but when it first appeared the PS4 was barely a couple of years old.
