Oh yes it's only Sony...
Wait do we know if Witcher III saves will cross the generational divide yet?
Oh right. There are so many titles that are being ported which haven't had this particular detail ironed out but you're concerned that Sony's messaging is poor when CDPR, EA, Ubi, Activision and many more developers haven't detailed these things for next-gen?
Color me unconvinced.
Precisely.
People keep bringing up Dirt 5 but ignore games like FIFA 21: https://gadgets.ndtv.com/ga...
Also it's curious how we don't yet know whether Maneater saves will transfer to XSX yet (unless that is on Twitter, but not on the "game journalists" radar).
This is definitely a fanboy issue...
I didn't hear anyone complaining that Red Faction Guerilla: Re-Marstered forced users to make new saves on PC! This an issue across generations because it helps fuel the fanboys.
The thing is they only worked on some games.
OG PS/1 saves worked for those PS Classics downloaded via PSN, but PS2 remasters didn't play nicely with native PS2 save data. In the same vein Medieval's PS1 save files don't work on the PS4 versions PS1 emu.
Basically a new game means new save data. This is only really confusing to a total idiots.
As for Dirt 5 I couldn't tell you why XSX may allow save transfers from XO/S/X and PS5 won't t...
@King-Noctis
So the remaster of Marvel's Spider-Man with all new game trophies and unlockables won't allow save transfers over while Miles Morales which is a new game made to be cross-gen will.
Are you seriously confused as to why that is?
The GBA SP doesn't have a built in clock that consumes battery while it is idle.
The PS Vita does however and so do all N/2/3DS models. My Vita is charged every 6-8 months my 3DS' are treated similarly. The SP is still rocking its original 2001 battery and still running 10-11 hours per charge. Crazy how my stuff has lasted that long. I do charge the SP once a year. On the otherhand one of my PSP batteries only lasts a few weeks even with a full charge. So weird how that works...
@SPEAKINGxTHExTRUTH
So these companies just pull money out of thin air now? Where are all these people twisting your arm to get the remaster?
If you don't want the PS5 version... don't buy it. It's really that simple. For the people like myself that want to see these improvements (and who didn't get the DLC for the original) it's a nice excuse to double dip on the game while getting a brand new game in addition to the remaster of a game they thoroughly en...
To turn on raytracing if the game was already built with the tech in mind is literally just flipping a switch see the PC version of Remedy's "Control."
What you're conveniently forgetting is that Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 wasn't built with raytracing in mind therefore the BVH extra geometry that is required to be in the BVH and GPU power for higher quality raycasting simply wasn't built into the PS4 game. Hence the PS5 remake and while this i...
@NeoGamer232
Says a game that was retooled for over a year and was basically remade with new assets, character models, full-fat raytracing with new in-game rewards, that effectively costs $20 as a pack-in for a next-gen game... is "aA CASH GRAB" from a developer he says he loves and supports.
So not only does this guy think that is easy and therefore should be free he likely hasn't heard of the cost of Mario 3D All-Stars game yet which only includes 3...
It's always been a huge part of Nintendo however. All those Gameboy through 3DS ports of Nintendo home console games. When Gameboy Advance launched it was stacked with ports and reimaginings of NES and SNES games... You can actually make the claim with a straight face (and be 100% correct) that Nintendo was trying harder back in 2000 to resell ancient games than they are today!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was what 900p on Wii U?
Or 1080p already?
Also MK8D saw a 1FPS jump from 59 to 60FPS. Not something people outside of Digital Foundry would give a single •••• about, but hey at least all the DLC was included.
TLoU:R went from 720p30 to 1080p60 with upgraded character models oh and like MK8D all the DLC was included and received the same enhancements as the base game did in transition from PS3 to PS4 meaning many more enhancements than M...
Right!
No need for this feature, it just makes the game data more vulnerable to pirates. Anyone can download the data freely and the data can be moved off the XSS/X via USB. This isn't respecting developers and only benefits a tiny minority of gamers with seriously fast internet speeds.
My internet isn't bad by any means and it still took more than 2 days to download MSFS which is 140GB. It took longer to download the Gears 4 trial (a few years ago) even th...
I kinda hope they don't... for the sake of the developers.
I think you know where I'm going with this?
Then I recall how many days it took to download MSFS for my PC...
Yeah I'll stick with the much faster physical installation process.
Also did we just forget that PS already has a solution for this non-issue allowing users to install a small portion of the game before allowing play? So you don't have to wait 45 minutes you just install the first few gigs and can get going. 5-10 mins is all you need in most cases.
Granted this option should you use ...
@MrNinosan
Not only that but as far as I am aware none of the Xbox Series X Enhanced games are getting updated anywhere near as much as this.
Additionally people keep bringing up The Witcher III update which as far as I am aware will bring the console version up to the original PC version. So CDPR is injecting the PC assets into the console version for free. No wonder it's free?
Meanwhile Insomniac is making new assets and rewriting the game to make use od RT! I...
@darthv72
Citation?
@Morgan
The disagrees you're getting tells me no one is using there heads here.
This is a fanboy war. Bow out, we're outnumbered.
(Yeah, I agreed with basically everything you said)
@Ratty (and others ITT too)
Uh... You certainly can make games around SSD. Try playing Asphalt 9 Legends on you PC (a mobile game) using an HDD!
Ray-tracing requires fundamental tweaks and may completely eliminate the need for cubemaps but also requires far less aggressive culling and an optimized BVH model especially seeing as how we're talking about an open world. I wouldn't surprise me if Insomniac opted to render the city twice (the second time in a low...
@caddytrek Look at the state of the game... Do you really think no one noticed or did MS entrust demo reviews to the blind? We knew this would likely happen especially considering MS constantly flexing the power of their system. Not they HAVE TO DELIVER when Halo Infinite comes out in 2021 (or 2022).
A severe non-issue we don't know the situation with most of these cross gen games save data support and yet these 2 and now apparently 3 games are to define PS5's capabilities?
What? What does cross-save support have to do with hardware capabilities? Also the fanboys are clearly ignoring any game which we know will allow PS4 to PS5 cross-save support like Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It's likely Sackboy's big adventure and many more PS4/5 cross-gen games wi...
