The break-out box on PS4 was for 3D audio processing. PSVR for PS5 will use a single cord only thanks to the Tempest custom audio processor.
It isn't impossible that at some point PlayStation could make a wireless variant of the HMD, but I wouldn't count on it due to the cost and their might be a lack of interest at least as far as the cost to profit margin is concerned (the wireless HMD might be too expensive for its target audience losing the company money). It's safer ...

Not at all unexpected.

Just not economically feasible. Maybe they'll shock us all, but I highly doubt it. Even if they do I don't think it would be able to differentiate itself enough on a technical level from the competition which would effectively be the Nintendo Switch.

So it would be expensive for what it does and be less capable than your phone by consequence of being a gaming device while also being basically as powerful as modern phones likely requiring new media yet again or forci...

Aside from my own neck possibly getting in the way (not sure if the weight of PSVR is a health concern due to my neck quite yet) I haven't had any problems with PSVR on a base models PS4. Games made with robust PSVR support work fine. Games with some sideshow attractions not so much GTS was a surprise disappointment which made me worry about Driveclub VR, but Driveclub VR is awesome. Anyway the unfortunate issue is I really can't enjoy VR for long without serious heart arrhythmias or ...

If memory serves Days Gone is only the second PlayStation Original to come to PC...
And yet we have the PC 🤡s here rubbing their hands together claiming: "Its only a matter of time before all PS games launch simultaneously on PS5 and PC."
Get a grip!

We've seen at least 5 other games leap from PlayStation 3 and 4 to PC over the past few years from various developers and publishers.
From Quantic Dream: "Detroit: Become Hu...

Pretty sure their history of launching on both PC and consoles shows them consoles come first.
What? Oh you didn't know Sony and PlayStation used to release games like Overboard, G.Police, WipEout and many more on PlayStation and PC as well as other platforms and PlayStation was still their bread and butter? Oh well.

The Xbox 360 controllers I have when played on Xbox 360 don't drift but they do on PC. On Windows the gamepad thingy (Idgaf what MS calls their app at the moment) shows drift and well on PC their pads all drift, but the same pads will not drift on console. So there's a small deadzone built in. That said the Nvidia Shield TV and various PlayStation gamepads I've connected to PC don't show any drift on PC using the same windows app. Only the DualShock 4 and DualSense will interf...

@UltraNova
Despite not owning a PS5 I do have a DualSense and according to the PC it doesn't drift. Ironically all of my Xbox controllers do drift according to my PC.

@Orchard
So now all the sudden couch co-op and splitscreen multiplayer is a nonstarter on PS5? Just to suit your narrative I suppose. When PS4 came out I wound up getting a DS4 before PS4 despite securing a PS4 pre-order. Today I'm one of those still waiting for a PS5.

PS4/XO 2013
Digital Foundry basically said it was inferior to the PC version. I can say it isn't from my own personal experience with the PS4 version and PC version S well as PS3 and Nvidia Shield version.
I made several videos about it, but I only uploaded the PS3 vs Shield and PC vs if memory serves (It was a mixed up project and the PC version [Steam] corrupted my savegame file - fun times, PC gaming for the win, am I right?)...

Exactly
DF just did a video comparing PS5 to PC regarding CoD BlOps3 and was talking about PS5 punching above its weight only because it was using quarter res particle effects and dynamic resolution (except it wasn't using dynamic resolution in the real time cine Alex used to bench the game which he did mention) then he sang the praises of DLSS despite an RTX 2070 Super barely edging out PS5 performance wise with barely noticeably higher graphics settings only if you were to anal...

I feel game of the year is totally irrelevant to most gamers these days. It's something pushed by media. I personally spent the most time playing Asphalt 9 Legends, Ghost of Tsushima and Microsoft Flight Simulator in order of time spent playing over the entire year. Yeah a mobile game from 2016 ate up so much of my 2020 gaming time that not mentioning it in my top three would be disingenuous and dishonest.

I experienced PSVR for the first time in 2020 and after a total ...

No, it means releasing a game in a playable state and for most people this isn't happening.

There are still several obvious bugs during that 3 hour stream and I didn't even watch 100% of it.
Jackie clipping into the cabinets was one before that there was the bouncer losing her bat then a patron in the bar in a t-pose after Jackie has his mishap he goes from standing to sitting in a frame he also runs into the lamp post after the mission collecting the bot we don't see if the elevator doors open for him in this stream because the player was looking...

Funny I wonder where the "F," "C," "D," buttons are on PS and Xbox controllers.
I'll just leave this here for you to mull over: https://youtu.be/OKo_Ysti9p...
Note how every system has the same bugs and glitches? Also note that even when an Xbox and PS controller prompts are on screen the performance is generally really good (signifying the game is being played eith...

Well that's just it isn't it. I guess you forgot but CDPR has a downhill trajectory with each release the quality of the game itself has been getting worse. The graphics improve the game functions less and less accurately.
They should've just delayed it without a date or with a distant placeholder date. Instead they made a mockery of their brand by releasing this game in a garbage tier state.

Gamers are rightfully panning this. It is quite...

Actually this is already a trend.
As people keep mentioning The Witcher III had numerous issues but mostly suffered from lackluster performance which despite not owning or playing I can verify with all of DF's videos on the subject matter.

Today CDPR launched a game that was not only a poor performer on basically all hardware it was also launched in a totally broken state with severe collision issues NPCs popping up out of nowhere sometimes inside the player ch...

If they were on the gamers side...
They would have told us the game needs more time and delayed the game without a date or used a distant placeholder date from the first time they new it wasn't ready.
They didn't.

1853d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I never played any CDPR game but I don't recall any glitches like we're seeing now in Cyberpunk 2077 I mean even the trees are broken in this new game! Trees were everywhere in The Witcher, no?

Cyberpunk 2077 is such a broken mess people including myself are having difficulty believing it was made by developers with previous experience making games never mind open world games with RPG elements with character choices. All of which The Witcher 3 did. And yet Cyberpunk...
