I know that and that's why I wrote what I wrote...
If Nintendo did control the community by having an online ecosystem they could actually own they might actually be able to keep the pedophiles out of it!
What a thought, eh?
Probably the exact opposite actually.
These kinds of "I didn't get my way so NOW I RIOT!" tactics reek of a lifetime of unabaited entitlement.
How is any of this his fault?
That's right It's not!
People as a species have a tendency to pervert everything and I do mean quite literally EVERYTHING.
Good point but again in thinking this through thoroughly.
What could they do to stop this from happening?
Not really all that much. I mean in my personal opinion you'd think the very least they could manage is to keep records of online interactions and of course that means having a robust online ecosystem on the console so that very young users don't have to venture out onto the net to find like minded individuals who might be creeps... But you know what ever.
I mean.... I get what you're saying really how many times do we need to hear Nintendo disavow pedophilia we know the company doesn't endorse it and also what can they do about it? They can't keep pedos from buying their products or ban people without some kind of reason.
But would you rather read a news story about Nintendo endorsing pedophilia?
That would be worse in my opinion.
I'm assuming you we're never targeting as a child.
Good for you then. For people like me it's very easy to understand their motivations because I was molested.
There's a certain amount of curiosity I invested into figuring out why. Best I can figure after all these years is that its a power trip for them.
Regardless it always shocks me that so many are confused that PEDOPHILES MIGHT ACTUALLY BE INTERESTED IN GAMES AND COMMUNITIES COMPRISED MOSTLY OF ...
@King_Noctis
Yes we do know what we're talking about... mate.
Nintendo makes a lot of games targeting a much younger audience. That is a simple and incredibly obvious fact. It's been that way for over 3 decades and only just recently shifted allowing many more adult oriented games to be released on their platforms.
Over the past 30 years how many mature and up (or equivalent depending on your region) games were released on Nintendo platforms? How ...
@sampsonon
You can't stop the mob mentality easily. Calling it out isn't going to stop it we've tried that and it just doesn't work. Mob mentality is the living things default state. I mean that all organisms on this planet adhere to the herd/mob to a very obvious extent. Today schools teach it and even Neil Druckman himself is a part of it by injecting his own personal politics into the story. His worldview shaped the themes of The Last of Us Part II and they made no...
Funny how my laptop seems to be more powerful than your rigs. Sure it cost $2,000 and is outdated now and I'm not rocking a RTX2080 just a GTX 1070 but it's still more powerful than an Xbox One X.
Honestly didn't think I'd be in the upper echelon of hardware specs amongst this crowd of gamers. Of course I use my PC for renders not for gaming. And honestly I haven't turned it on in a while. Part of me is thinking I should clear hundreds of gigs of space a...
Remember when the PC guys kept saying all you needed was a GTX 750Ti to get you through the generation?
I sure do and now those guys might not be able to play Horizon Zero Dawn!
@Smclaren1985
PCs as a platform were past their prime before Half-Life 2 released.
Online activations heavy DRM and stringent hardware requirements never really seemed to go away. The best time to buy a PC game you like now is a few years after it releases when you'll have hardware that can run it well.
Consoles have a lot of perks focused on gaming that the masses want and PC elitists with high end riga constantly trading out parts in their desktops t...
@Sunny12345
Don't want to edit my original post...
Why didn't Naughty Dog do something really stunning and brave by creating brand new stupid inept individuals lacking critical thinking skills that they could cram into The Last of Us' universe so this story could make some sense?
@Sunny12345
Why didn't Ellie have that flashback sooner?
Because plot of course!
This is pathetic storytelling and we all know it. Why is this fine. Naughty Dog is better than that.
Additionally wasn't the whole point of getting away from Uncharted to make the violence the characters partook in make sense? And yet at every critical story point the writers made the violence senseless and thinly veiled attempts to hold th...
Hakuoro
So you couldn't find anything decent about the story of The Last of Us Part II?
I rest my case.
@TheKingKratos
"Ahh this Bullcrap again ... you act like Joel don't trust any one in the first game
But he did .. he trust Henry and sam and went with them and they could have been bad people too and kill and loot him when they had the chance... this is a sh1t world after all"
Uh... Did you forget Joel's first interaction with Henry was literally trying to kill him (which Joel openly admits in-game)?
Henry abandons Joel during a ...
What about this games story was great, new to games as a medium, done better than any similar game stories if any? And since we're leaving the politics at the door, the use of LGBT+ characters is totally irrelevant mentioning them gives you nothing in the way of credibility unless you can prove that including their sexuality was critical to the story and couldn't be done with non-LGBT+ characters.
I'll wait.
@Lexreborn2
So the message is "self-flagellation for the win"?
Again what!? Kahlina is 110,000,000,000,000% right nothing Ellie did will break the cycle and if we learned anything by the very existence of Part II is that Ellie is in for the beat-down of her life soon because of all the people she terminated there's probably one brother, sister, mother, father, son, daughter, distant relative or close friend she p•••ed who's now pinning for a chance to put E...
If you don't like her friends how can you like her? I mean it's one thing to have characters like Tess who die early on and a totally different thing entirely to have these characters around you the whole time that you feel like you know next to nothing about. That's yet another hallmark of poor storytelling.
Hmmm, well let's try this. How far off the mark was I in understanding what you meant?
Please explain.
@Sunny12345
So Noctis gives you a link to the playlist you watch the slowest part of a 35+ part walkthrough and think this is the final word the guy has on the game... And you think his review process is broken?
Just WOW!
I mean had you just skipped to the part where you know the game picks up (since you played it, right) you would've caught the bits where he said he likes the combat and enjoys the faster less cluncky moveset of Abby/Ellie when the game gives yo...
