Nah dude, I won't let this slide like others will. If you live in the US most people have TVs because basic local TV channels are free for everyone. I understand that isn't a given for EU folks. That said most people in the developed world have recent TVs with HDMI ports and those work with modern PCs of all shapes sizes and capability. So, we can ignore the cost of a screen for both. We can not ignore the cost of certain peripherals for PC though. Many games are truly not fun to play...

Only League of Legends, DoTA, and World of Warcraft come to mind. Unbelievable decades long hype surround true stinkers like Star Citizen on PC.

Even PC's best is only truely recognized by E-Sport, which incentivizes users to buy just to practice to get gud with the carrot being massive cash prizes for winning tournaments. I don't know anyone who plays League or DoTA for fun.

This leaves WoW, which was only really notable for bein...

Another major con on PC is not being able to do everything with a gamepad controller without hoping some shoddy and often shady 3rd apps might mediate normal Windows operations through user configured macros.

The GTX 980 TI launched about 2 years after PS4 and it did not keep pace with PS4 just as how we will likely see the PS5 Pro put the RTX 4070 Ti to shame if not on launch it will happen in time. After all, the PS5 already puts the RTX 3060 to shame despite that card being released 3 years after the PS5 was. Notice how basically everyone now compares consoles with RTX 3070 and above these days? There is a reason for that.

My phone envodes 4K60 video in high bitrates faster than my PC and the only device faster at doing that... PS5!

But PS5 doesn't do stuff like that of course... you know that isn't even what 1st party apps like Share-Factory were even made for, of course. 🤣 The painful truth is that PS5 can't compose spreadsheets or slide presentations... but my phone can and I'm not even talking about my latest phone when it comes to the simple stuff.

How many PC games allow co-op and do so adequately with just k/m? 🤣 On PC you need two controllers and guess how many PCs come with? Oh, that's right, zero.

"PS5 Pro is priced so high"

tl;dr: Gaming PCs are really only for gaming and not much else, if you're smart you know what I mean by this. If you buy used, you put your data and other important information at risk. Most if not all used rigs will still cost about as much and net worse performance than base model PS5s today.
For more details read on.

Or you can buy a PS5 Pro for gaming and spend $150 on a thin and light laptop for work and that will cost you basically the same amount as a decent base model PS5-level gaming desktop right now.
All the benefits and none of the drawbacks.

@I_am_Batman
Yes, the US pricing does not include taxes which can be upward of 10% while VAT across Britain, and Europe, include duties and taxes. The ¥119,980 price for Japan literally says in the PS Blog post that that price includes tax! Meanwhile we might end up paying anywhere from 8-15% sales tax or even more depending on where you live on top of that $699.99 MSRP. +15% on $699.99 is still roughly £613, €724, and ¥113,366. So it very well may cost less for us in ...

Inflation is also admittedly much higher than the 21% the American government is willing to fess up to. What is inflation in your nation? 0%? -40%? Is there some real justification you can point to other than your personal feelings about the price tag that suggests PS5 Pro can be sold for less without cutting into the only publisher currently giving gamers the option to improve performance in games, which is all everyone is asking for across the board at the moment?

I'm not a fan of that either but if physical discs are still an option I'll go for it. Unfortunately, they're becoming less of an option by the month this gen and often that means I skip them and then I learn about the games being average or bad and never buy them anyway. I did buy Astro Bot physically along with Stellar Blade and basically every other PS5 game I own except GT7, but that is because it is an always online game. PD showed it still might be worth owning a special edi...

Morons: 'You're being punished.'
Sane gamers: 'I don't have to buy this if I don't want it.'
Basically everyone on N4G at the moment: [caught deep in their feels about the poor global economy without realizing it] 'THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS!!!' [strikes DISAGREE button with wreckless abandon]

Most PCs come with a basic K/M.
PS5 comes with a basic DualSense...
But what if you want the DualSense Edge. Well, that costs extra, just like the gamer K/M combos do, and the Switch Pro Controller, and Xbox Pro Controllers all cost more. Do you realize your argument doesn't work, yet?

PS5 slim doesn't need a vertical stand to stand vertically so it didn't come with one and PS5 Pro doesn't either and doesn't come w...

I just looked... and outside of steep E-Bay sales on premade desktops which you have to be lucky to find and bid on. It will cost you 300 USD more just for a desktop as powerful as the base model PS5.

Base model PS5 performance is around 850 USD which when imported to Europe would be less expensive than the PS5 Pro... but the PC in question would be much less powerful than PS5 Pro anyway. So... why switch to PC on the basis of price? Oh, right, it's cheaper to buy this ...

Intel Core i5 12400F and RTX 3060 12GB with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage desktop computer at Walmart online.
$849, which is €764.10, and £645.24.
This will basically get you the same level of performance in games like A Plague Tale Requiem as on a base model PS5... but still costs $300 more than a new base model PS5.

This did not just affect the US. There were bad global economic policies that came about during the pandemic that put the global economy in the position it is in today. This isn't the fault of the US in isolation.

Again with this 'but but but it's expensive when converted to another nations currency' argument. What is this nonsense. When I buy a game I know some will have to pay more for it in another nation. That doesn't turn me into a price warrior activist. What is your problem?
