If gamers wanted this... they would have purchased the BC PS3 more than the non-BC PS3. PS gamers voted with their wallets over 13 years ago now. Xbox and Nintendo didn't even give their customers an option, but in Xbox's defense they currently offer the largest library of BC games via emulation and if you own those game discs you can play the emulated versions at no extra cost.

In fact Nintendo comes out as the bad guy here because they don't even honor prior d...

Sony isn't spending much time on this. They seem to have contracted the developer Implicit Conversions to handle these BC ports to PS4 and PS5. If PS spent the time to do this themselves I'm sure they could do the same or better. The thing is this isn't native BC. It's just like Xbox and Nintendo emulation now; all in software. I am hopeful that PC is working on native PS3 BC, but I'm not going to hold my breath for it.

PS5 doesn't have native PS1-PS3 BC. That's the difference dude and if you knew that you wouldn't have written what you did.

Xbox made 718 to 740 BC Xbox and Xbox 360 games work for Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles over almost 15 years. Only 61 original Xbox games are available via Xbox's BC program the rest are Xbox 360 titles.

PS had over 200 PS1 games and 59 PS2 games available for download on PS3 according to Wikipedia and none feature...

Low res? They're higher resolution than PS2 HD ports. Didn't *DF also mention that in this clip?
Everyone acts like this is all standard in emulation but it isn't. Most of these are mods and some just managed to work their way into the overlaying emu software which is why most emus offer per-game settings profiles.

No emulator is perfect we only hear about the pluses and never about the drawbacks.

Many console warriors are comparing P...

Indeed I watched Mystic compare Sly Cooper across PS2, PS3, PS4, and PS5, and wouldn't you know it, but the PS5 version looked the sharpest and ran as well as the PS2 version.

All these games are ported by Implicit Conversions who uses their own Syrup Engine to repack these games as their own emulated versions. Yeah, I wish PS had their own emulator like they used to (which were effectively perfect software emulations), but it's clear that no one actually values BC ...

And then there's GT7. It relies only on reflections... which creates all the other lighting phenomenon including bounce lighting or global illumination. Of course GT7 only deploys that system at 30FPS and people think that makes it not worth it. In reality there are many other games that deploy it without issues even at 60FPS like Fortnite which everyone ignores is a F2P 60FPS UE5 game with RT on consoles.

The smart deployment of RT makes it worthwhile. Even in a game l...

It's DOA no matter what even if it's a streaming system like PS Portal.

I'm guessing Xbox Wireless will be a streaming system like PS Portal. And yes I fully expect their portable Xbox to be given a really stupid name like "Wireless." Maybe even a dumber name like the Xbox Series W.

Totally the reason only 1 store had a single headset available. PS must have so much backstock they aren't selling to retailers! /s

Imagine a child safety advocate switching gears and targeting how a business sells games, weird right? I could be wrong, and maybe old blonds in England with the name Vicki Shotbolt are a dime a dozen... but assuming this is the same Vicki Shotbolt of The Parent Zone, her company The Parent Zone partnered with MS in 2014. That's a long time ago I know, but apparently Shotbolt has ties with the UK government.

I'm not saying anything, but MS doesn't let partnershi...

Vicki's company ParentZone has partnered with MS in the past. Wonder if their partnership is ongoing? I can't find anything on such short notice. Might be MS pulling their levers of power yet again. After all what do they have to lose?

GT7, Stellar Blade, Astro Bot, and probably a few others just this year alone. On top of that, depending on what PC HW you, or anyone else who complaining about how wrong I am, might not run this years existing and upcoming 3rd party multiplatform games on their PCs as well as PS5/XSX might run them (including min/max performance and min/max resolutions at console-like visual settings).

@Shiore2u
Are you really going to try and gaslight me (a PC to console convert who still owns a 2017 gaming laptop - which in 2017 was high-end not to be confused with top-tier) into believing PC has the best User Experience? Is Windows 11 the epitome of best user experience for gaming today? Are you being genuine!? Of course not. No one would say that except a fanboy. PC has so many more issues mostly due to radical HW fragmentation which is undeniable and yet still ignored by PC di...

Lol this title is such click-bait.
"Nintendo effectively have two parts to their business: platform and IP. The platform business is everything from hardware sales, accessory sales, subscriptions and store sales. These companies receive a large cut of the revenue (30 percent in most cases) for every third-party game sold on its platform, so the platform business is an extremely lucrative and important part of their income. There's a reason why Sony was mortified at the idea ...

Right, Mario VR would be a PC/PS5-PSVR2 exclusive... or they could attempt budget VR on Switch again. Either way if Nintendo started putting their bigger games on PS or PC now they'd dilute their brand and the desire for potential customers to buy into their ecosystem. That said Nintendo isn't a stranger to 3rd party releases. In 2017 or so they agreed to have Nvidia's Lightspeed Studios release older GameCube and Wii games officially on the Nvidia Shield TV for the Chinese market...

Just Microsoft. Sony doesn't own Lego or the rights to publish Lego games. They did agree to their IP being used in Lego's game. If Horizon: Zero Dawn, Forbidden West or the next game in the series launched on other consoles your argument would make sense, but that isn't happening.
