Ha, fair. I used to write articles too. Those were the days. I’m definitely content with having moved on though. I still enjoy weighing in on a good discussion and I’ve certainly had time to refine my thoughts on this topic.

Articles posing the exact same question seem to come up periodically, so it's clearly a topic of interest.

It's also not a question with a straightforward answer. I for one like to get my money's worth. If I'm busy and it takes me longer than anticipated to beat a game, that's on me. I have a good sense of what I'm usually willing to spend per hour of entertainment, and the extent to which I'm willing to go above that is proportionate to how g...

I mean, to be fair that Chun Li would probably win a cosplay contest but yeah, she looks like someone playing Chun Li, albeit really well, rather than Chun Li, and there are definitely characters that make me think “yeah, that’s her”.

As for others like Ken, all I can say is I think I’ve seen that guy at a convention...probably as one of those annoying individuals who hold up panels with dumb questions.

Now that you mention it, yeah, the majority of the best ones are women. My only issue with Chun Li’s is she doesn’t look Chinese. Some of the other ladies though are spot on...and not many of the guys.

Most of these look like young people entering a cosplay contest...the majority of which wouldn’t win. There are a handful I think actually look pretty good. Too bad most of those aren’t the classic characters. Ken’s has to be one of, if not the worst.

Yeah, they can show their devotion to the regime instead. :/ Silly kids, human rights are for the elites. There’s a big difference between parents stepping in and enforcing game time for their kids, and a government actually stepping in and actively limiting that.

Also, do you really believe gaming is the only activity kids or even adults can engage in that China’s government isn’t at the very least monitoring for their citizens?

That’s a dictatorship for you. Communism is when everyone is on equal ground. The second someone is above the system, usually to enforce it, it’s no longer communism. Of course, there’s no real world data as of yet of any attempt at communism not devolving into a dictatorship (and I don’t think China’s system was ever meant to be anything but a dictatorship).

For all you Canadians out there, I’d say the odds of the XS dominating the competition is similar to the odds of the NDP winning the election. Sure, it could happen, but it’s unlikely and there’s no precedence of it happening.

Of course, the reasons for both entities being at the back of the pack are different, so it’s not a perfect analogy, but in both cases I’ll believe it when I see it.

But, don’t we already have a collection with games based on 2/3 of those movies? WTF? Why not at least publish a collection containing games not already re-released? It would likely still be just as over-priced and lacking in content, but at least it would all be content we don’t currently have access to on modern systems.

But how do you know he’s not a decent person? You do know that actors play characters who are often nothing like they are personality-wise, right? Evidently not or you wouldn’t have made such a comment.

@KDblack Agreed. Man, think of all the actors in the history of all manner of media who played villains, and imagine a world where none of them would have taken the role. If it were a crime or even legit grounds to be mistreated, no one would want to play them.

Thanks for clearing that up. I don't actually see myself playing Super Mario Party that way anyways. It just seems weird to me that a Nintendo first party title wouldn't have control options to optimize the experience for one of their alternate model Switches. I know Super Mario Party came first, but you would think a patch would have been released after the Lite came out to remedy a huge issue like that.

Oh well, I'll count my blessings that I have a mainl...

Doesn't the Switch Lite have gyroscopic motion too? I don't actually own one as I've been perfectly content with my regular Switch, but my friends own Lites and I think I read somewhere that it does. If so, even most motion-controlled minigames shouldn't be too difficult. Of course, the entire Lite would have to be tilted and moved about vs just a Joycon on a regular model Switch, but if it's doable then it's an option. I've heard it's possible to pair a Jo...

The thing is, when a product is developed for a company, that company owns that product, regardless of who created it. If the individual who created said product is no longer part of the team, they no longer have any more to do with any future products created under that IP than anyone else who's no longer part of the team.

There is prestige in being the creator of a popular franchise, but that really only amounts to people knowing that individual created that franch...

I'd love for loot boxes to be banned entirely, but it's a good start.

I actually really liked the GBA games. I still have fond memories of them.

Maybe someone can make a new IP then. I legit think a game based on Celtic mythology and starring a Celtic figure would be a great idea if handled right, but I don't think it should be a God of War game for multiple reasons. Heck, not only does that idea not fit God of War IMHO, but it would benefit so much more from just being its own thing.

And sometimes it’s still “doom and gloom” for PlayStation. I have to wonder how well the PS5 needs to do for certain journalists to recognize it as doing well.

Yeah, they're fantastic at sucking the soul out of every studio they acquire and discarding their lifeless husk when they no longer serve them well. Too bad those aren't traits I admire in a corporation that buys up studios.

Awesome! I saw! I'll have to purchase this with all due haste. In lieu of a new game in the mainline series, this duology should more than sufficiently tide me over.
