What part of “I very much dislike Donald Trump” was ambiguous to you? I was never in support of his presidency.
I’m just saying that I for one believe in democracy, which means that I fully support the right of others to support whatever candidate or party they see fit.
Most importantly though, I believe in treating one another as human beings, because that’s just common decency. Why do people of different political ideologies have to be enemies? ...
I very much dislike Donald Trump, but who cares if some people voted for him? That’s democracy, and people are entitled to their political beliefs.
Scott here is a Christian from a red state. I assumed he was at least Republican-leaning, but why should I care if he is? I don’t much care for the FNaF games from a gameplay standpoint, but they’re one heck of a fascinating phenomenon, both from a lore standpoint, and their cultural impact.
If there was r...
It's amazing what people will threaten others over in this day and age at the drop of a hat. It makes me wonder what happened to humanity. Since when has empathy reached such a low over something as trivial as a game that will come out eventually, that such behaviour is considered remotely acceptable?
I guess I'm not alone in that boat then. Backlog mountain is fast becoming backlog planet as it will surely have its own gravitational pull soon. That said, I opted to have a life outside of games, and I don't regret that. On the plus side, it makes me appreciate it more when I do have the time for games. I'm probably not going to slow down on buying more games anytime soon either. Call it a bad habit, but so many games out there sound interesting enough that I want to play t...
Man, these Pokemon knockoffs seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately. This particular one seems to be infused with some Stardew Valley flavour as well. I'll probably hold off until a bunch of these are released and gauge the reception before opting to check out one or two of them. I'm all for there being more Pokemon-like games to choose from, but the market is quickly getting flooded with them to the point of oversaturation. I sure as heck don't have time for all of them...
I've never heard of this title, but the odds of me checking it out now are zero because I will never support a company who bows to the Chinese Communist Party. President Pooh Bear can bite me. Maybe it's not my fight as I don't have a drop of Chinese blood in me, but I'm against fascism of any kind, and I'm sure as heck against a bigoted dictatorship exerting control over surrounding nations.
I may not be able to do much for people suffering way on t...
I can actually count the number of times I've been to a Blockbuster in my lifetime on one hand, but that's because there was a local video store near my house that my family and I liked to go to instead, and it was much closer than any Blockbuster. That said, whether it's a chain or a local shop, the experience of visiting a video store was something the likes of which today's kids will never know, but which holds a special place in the memories of those of us old enough to h...
Right you are. I can't imagine why someone who wasn't around in that time would understand why anyone would miss having to actually go to a store to rent movies or games. Obviously, streaming services are far more convenient, and you don't have to worry about whether the media you wish to access is in stock. But, it's a tradeoff. I wouldn't describe streaming as being an experience that even remotely holds a candle to going down to the video store. Still, it's def...
I don't actually think "just play it" is bad advice TBH. Let them get a feel for how a game controls, because while there is some variation, many games nowadays stick to similar tried and true control schemes. It doesn't take too long to at least get a feel for what button jumps, what button shoots, etc. Maybe start with one genre, and branch out from there.
Above all though, give someone a judgment free environment in which they can learn games. Let...
It was by far the most memed too. Honestly, it's a miracle and a half that Xbox is still a thing after that disaster. It was only through backpedaling and actually listening to feedback that it would go on to even sell even half as much as it did. Some things like forcing everyone to buy Kinect with the XB1 took a good while to be rectified, but at least the DRM plan was scrapped before launch. On the plus side, there's now a good case study on how not to reveal a console.
Nah, I think it’s just getting started. It will likely change and evolve as time goes on though.
Well, that sure takes me back. I'm interested.
On a conceptual level, maybe it's not the most original thing out there, but for me Days Gone is far more than a sum of its parts. It could just be that it's the kind of game I needed at the time, but riding around and taking out hordes of zombies was beyond satisfying. I enjoyed the story and characters well enough. It's different enough from The Last of Us in that it's far more open world. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think every game needs to reinvent the whe...
In other media, maybe. For games though, a 7 is meh, and anything below that is trash. I'm not entirely sure why it is that games in particular follow a different scale, but that's the industry standard and is how most gamers approach scores. It's different than rating something like anime/manga, where a 6 may be a far more acceptable score for something. With games a 6 is not good at all. It may just have to do with the culture of different industries. If you're a fan o...
Ummm...just don’t buy from scalpers. Scalpers only do what they do because they have a market. Stop giving them one.
Well, denial is clearly a much longer river than we anticipated. I wonder what happens if we ask Alexa about Stadia sales/revenue and number of subscriptions?
That shoe probably gnaws off your toes or heel for you, so you don't have to mutilate your foot yourself. That's the only way I can see it being remotely like a Cinderella shoe. You can tell that I prefer the Grimm version of the story for that gratuitous plot element.
On the other hand, if EA were a guy, he probably would be the shallow type who "falls madly in love" with a girl he very briefly met, but somehow only remembers a very minute detail about ...
Also, scalpers have invested in XSs too. So by that logic, if PS5 numbers are inflated by scalpers, then so are XS numbers. This line of logic doesn't actually favor MS's system at all. Maybe the logic is that more scalpers buy PS5s, but in that case that just shows that they perceive more demand for Sony's latest system. Fun fact: scalpers don't invest in things they don't think they can quickly sell.
They also want to sell through their supply of scalped systems before the shortages end, so they're not sitting on them for very long. Once people can easily walk into a store and get a PS5 no problem, they're not going to think it's worth paying more for one than MSRP. Scalpers know this, and while they may have a while yet before they need to switch to the next scarce thing, they sure as heck know that the days of their PS5 resale business are finite and undoubtedly want to se...
Well, I'm not expecting anything too phantasmagorical. Not only is Metroid a Nintendo property with a need to appeal to a wider audience, but it's a metroidvania first and foremost. If it plays out like past titles, Samus will gain more weapons and abilities, and will later be able to defeat that enemy that's seemingly invincible at the start. That said, I am liking what I'm seeing, and I'm definitely getting a sense of dread when that robot thing shows up. Whether it&...
