Expected, but great news nonetheless!
Again, you’re assuming I think GoW is actual best game of all time material. It’s not even my favourite PS exclusive. However, I’m glad a PS first party took the crown to the chagrin of everyone who tries to downplay everything PlayStation does, and it’s clear it’s also making the FFVII crowd cry hot tears.
You’re probably overestimating FFVII’s importance just a little, but it is true that it did bring the JRPG crowd over to PlayStation, at a time when the JRPG crowd had...
Well, GoW wouldn't be the winner for me either (I think the majority of games in this poll are overrated in some manner or another), but I prefer it to some items on the list. BotW is a decent game, sure, but it's not even the best open world game I've played, so I hardly think it's best game of all time material. Its popularity is inflated because it stars Link and is a departure from the normal Zelda formula that works. Also, it's the most recent Zelda title.

Given how much I love the Danganronpa series, I'm definitely looking forward to this and am interested in any and all details.
That's Nintendo fans in general. You can criticize any other company and its games, especially if you have valid criticism, but as far as they're concerned you should never criticize Nintendo or any of its studios or all heck will break loose. It's why I just can't talk to them. I don't think any company or its products should be above criticism, especially when it comes to products I enjoy, because constructive feedback can help make a product even better the next time...
Happy 10th Birthday Isaac! The Binding of Isaac really is one heck of a rabbit hole of a game, and even more of a time sink.
Nice! Since they're going to bring Venom into the mix, I'm glad they're not afraid to get a little darker.
It’s not surprising to see some degree of bias in favour of what’s more recent, as those games are fresher in people’s minds, and many younger people weren’t even around when some classics were current. At least Fortnite was eliminated right away.
I’m glad God of War won, but this poll is all kinds of whack. Chrono Trigger somehow lost to a random racing game, and while it surprises me a lot less, I disagree with Ocarina of Time losing out to Skyrim. As for Breath of the Wild beating Final Fantasy VII...well, they’re both overrated with the latter being more so, so I’m fine with that. Given how sketchy this poll is though, I’ll take GoW winning, especially over GTAV.
I'm loving this game so far. Note, that I haven't played the sequel yet which apparently greatly improves on it. As for this game though, I agree that it's a worthwhile experience in its own right. However, I wouldn't say it quite stands shoulder-to-shoulder with that big franchise.
There are certainly things I like better about Nexomon, and it is true that it streamlines the Pokemon experience, but there are nuances to that experience which dedicated fan...
Kinda? It is click bait. This is hardly the first time Kojima has been misquoted and it won’t be the last, but it makes for an enticing headline every time.
Yes, back from success so they can enjoy even more success.
When were they ever gone?
Oh yeah, the haptic! This game is going to be lit!
Are we going to go through this every time Insomniac develops a game based on a popular Marvel superhero? I’m getting flashbacks to similar crying when Spider-Man was first announced.
In case you don’t know how exclusives work, if you want to play a game that badly, you can get the system that plays that game. Problem solved. Then, you can play it all you want once it’s out, and you don’t need to contribute to the devaluation of games “journalism”.
@VersusDMC I have to agree with you there. As much as I love Japan, there are bigger markets elsewhere and the Switch has a strong grip on the Japanese market. Also, given how much of a success the PS4/5 has been here in the West, I think Sony made the right decision to put more eggs into that basket. You are also correct that that doesn't mean they've given up on Japan entirely, just that more of their focus is on the West. I'm looking forward to FFXVI too.
I know there's a certain YouTube channel that's pushing that narrative. I just don't see it though. Maybe if there was evidence of Xbox making gains on PlayStation in Japan, there would be merit to it. Switch will continue to dominate in Japan, for sure, but I don't see any signs whatsoever that the PS5 won't maintain second place, however distant that may be. The XS is currently a distant third, as in far back from second, much like its predecessors.
Wow, first Spider-Man and now Wolverine. I'd feel a bit bad for Xbox if I wasn't too busy being hyped.
Of course it is. If it’s not Skyrim getting ported to everything to this day, it’s GTAV. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were announced for smart fridges at this point (and am only being slightly hyperbolic when I say that).
Thanks Phil, but Sony and especially Nintendo are already doing that, not to mention plenty of third parties. It’s amusing that you think Xbox is the saviour this corner of the industry needs though.
