When did they go out of style? I don't recall them ever falling out of favor. Maybe some people prefer their online experiences, but I can't imagine we would get such a constant flow of singleplayer titles if no one was playing them. Also, since when have live service games taken over the industry? They exist, sure, but I can't hear you over all the great non-service games I've been playing lately.

I didn't. I paid $15CAD for it. I already had the PS3 version, but that's when I decided "sure, why not?". I believe the Left Behind DLC was included too, so I didn't mind paying that for it. It's a great game, yes. But, it's a great game that I rebought. So, I just waited to rebuy it at a price that worked for me.
There are a lot of things I love about the modern age. This practice isn't one of them. I've always thought pre-order exclusive content is BS. Physical pre-order bonuses are one thing. To the creative director of Days Gone: I sympathize bruh, but maybe complain about the pirates rather than the people who played your game legally, and in such a way that you still gained some kind of revenue from it. I get that you want to make as much money as possible from any game you may produce, and you would get more from sales at $60USD.
