A site called trolling.com actually sounds like it would be more interesting. At the very least the authors of anything on such a site probably wouldn't take anything they write too seriously, and would probably just have fun with everything they post.

I for one very much prefer Plus to Switch Online. Where are the articles about how Nintendo is charging an extra $30/month to play a handful of N64 games? I suppose there are Genesis games too, but virtually all of them seem to be games that can easily be acquired in other ways, making them all the more baffling as a supposed incentive to pay for that "add-on". Please tell me how Plus is worse than that.

I’ll come out and say it: The Nintendo of my childhood was better. I won’t stop loving Nintendo because it and I go way back, but I’m not liking it so much right now. Nostalgia isn’t enough to blind me to real problems with modern Nintendo’s services, policies and just general philosophy.

It’s also worth noting that almost, if not all those Genesis games have been released in other ways on modern consoles too, and you can keep those for a one-time purchase. So, it really comes down to how much you love these N64 games. It’s definitely not worth it to me.

I play games, not mini fridges. I do appreciate how far the in-joke of the XS looking like a fridge has gone, but that’s not actually a product I would buy, nor does a novelty product have anything to do with the quality of the actual XS, which is the thing being compared to the competition.

It's almost as if gamers like games. Of course the console with a steady and consistent lineup of exclusives wins.

And I bet we still can't play Uno the way we would like, and are still limited to the currently available options. That's an update I'd actually like to see.

Is this supposed to be controversial? A transition has to be made to the current gen at some point. Some games are only possible with modern systems afterall.

Ha, you underestimate the Internet. Stupid things are almost never one-off occurrences. What’s more amazing to me is how such dumb people can hold the positions they do (until they’re inevitably fired, of course). That goes double for the military as you really don’t want dunces involved in warfare, in any capacity. Intelligence is clearly not a prerequisite to join the military though.

I'm against animal abuse, but maybe they can focus on cases of it in the real world? The thing about fiction is it isn't real, and the vast majority of people who play these games aren't engaging in such problematic activities IRL. Moreover, focusing on cases in fiction doesn't actually solve real world instances of it, as that stuff is happening whether or not this particular game depicts it. Armchair outrage in general is just useless and only serves to annoy people. If ...

I wonder if this thing will work with Mario Party Superstars. That could be a great way to find out if its components are just like the original controller.☠️

Well, there is SMTV. It's not Persona 5, but at least the Switch got a five that's probably great in its own right, and exclusive to it. As a multi-system owner who has P5/Royal already, I very much prefer having an original game on Switch anyways. I am actually interested in that Advance Wars collection too. On the first party front...I'm not huge into Metroid and think GF is resting on its laurels too much to want to drop $80CAD on their latest efforts again, but I'm loo...

@sourOG Good point. That said, new release games are bloody expensive, especially where I live. But, there will always be exceptions. If I'm a big enough fan of something that I want to have it as soon as it comes out, then I'll do it, especially if that something has a pre-order bonus or collector's edition I can check out. Limited physical releases are also a thing I do sometimes.

So, I do support new releases from time to time, and if I buy physical, it&#...

And that competition could do with talking less and doing more. I'm glad Sony's more action than talk than the other way around.

Yeah...as a current Switch owner, I don't need this, nor do I feel compelled to really want one. If I didn't have one, I'd certainly lean towards getting that model, but it's not enough of an upgrade for me. I don't really use the handheld mode enough to make it worthwhile.

I've legit never counted the lines of dialogue in a game, but that sure makes for a good headline.

Why would you? If you're paying that much for a game, it's typically for the pleasure of playing it right away. If you're going to backlog it anyways or don't plan on playing it immediately, what's the point? Also, we live in the fun age of post-launch patches and bug fixes, where games sometimes launch with bugs and other problems that are subsequently fixed. If you get a game later on, you benefit from all of that already having been dealt with.

Oh yeah! A new Twisted Metal may be in the works too! Man, PlayStation is killing it!

1720d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Good question. I would assume it's because people are still buying them at that price.

Nice! I'm not surprised in the least, but they are a great fit for Sony and I expect great things!
