I disagree. For ever person that thinks 500 is too high, there is one willing to pay because it's new tech - tech that has never been available to consumers before. People were paying over a thousand dollars for ps4s when they weren't available in stores and that's just an evolutionary step of the PS3 so there are definitely those out there who will spend. People were spending 3x msrp for iPhones etc. new tech always has people willing to pay. My guess is psvr will be $399-499. F...
This thing is going to cost more than the wishful $199 "accessory" price floated on this site as I've said before to many disagrees. Sorry but the entry price to any vr including psvr won't be for the budget minded. not initially. I also don't think they initially plan on moving 10s of millions of units. V1 consumer will be for early adopters like myself willing to shell out a bit more money. It will get cheaper over time if it's successful. Sony themselves said it w...
not bad. the backwards compatibility element of it seems to increase the value imo - a good competitive step toward the often times better offerings of ps+ freebies.
How much do they pay you? .... And why do you care so much? all companies work deals for rights. Ms does it, Sony does it etc etc. to suggest otherwise is just naive.
@dead
I don't care how many it sold or why. I don't care that it's an exclusive. I have a ps4 and an Xbox - regardless i didn't even buy the game so I have no horse in this race.
I don't doubt it would sell more if released on both platforms. That's probably true of any game.
I just wanna know where the armchair analysts get their data to make such calls. Apparently half the people on here are capable of running fortu...
Let's see your figures
the typing is a good example of using the touchpad in a meaningful way imo. it actually adds to to the experience by making it quick and less tedious.
as far as sales go, the xbox is actually selling quite well (aside from asia which has always been the case). better than the 360 did. the thing is that the ps4 is selling unexpectedly well - to the point that not even sony knows why. so its not like the xb1 is failing so much as the ps4 is simply exceeding expectations. Remove the ps4 from the equation and its still turning out to be a successful product even if it is in the #2 spot. furthermore, xb1 sales are actually on an upward trend, ...
it felt kinda tacked on in infamous. it was clever sure, but it was nowhere near necessary and not key to the gameplay whatsoever.
6-axis is definitely a cool feature, but much like the ds4 touchpad, it rarely gets used in a meaningful, experiential way that really takes advantage - if at all.
well... i have yet to see it. the other team has practically turned their console into a completely different console loaded with features and updates... the ps4 has remained largely static since launch. i mean its cool, but lets be honest, aside from launching with faster memory and a slightly better gpu, it has only come up with a minimal set of big features compared to the competition.
whether they've been "more innovative than anybody getting software on their ...
i dunno... i'd go with something like asynchronous computing.

the first time i saw it, i literally thought it was some weird pre-alpha leak or something. when I realized thats what it was going to look like, i was completely surprised.
I certainly remember that. Some still defend it.
Agreed. I didn't hate the order but I definitely didn't love it either. The gameplay itself often times felt like an afterthought after a bunch of cutscenes. I'm still hopeful they'll take feedback from the first one and make a much better sequel.
wow. this is what happens when fanboys can't take the heat. a total apologist rant.
you're right. its not e3. so stop caring so much what people think. it was a boring show that didn't wow. its not the last show. if the general consensus was that the show was lackluster, then it probably was.
the ps4 is still the no. 1 console, it still has plenty of good content coming out and the world will still turn if Sony doesn't blow everyones m...
well... ferrari is an obstacle for many because they cost more than an economy car, yet some people buy them and the majority do not. high end gaming rigs are also cost prohibitive to many yet people still buy and make them.
the fact is, VR is new tech. new tech has never been cheap, nor has it been mainstream. psVR at best is going to cost at least $300 (similarly to its competitors) and realistically probably more (similarly to some competitors). if it doesn't, the...
i think the title is misleading. fwiw though assetto is one of the best racing sims i've ever played. period. it would be a loss if it didn't make it to consoles.
Plain old bc or gtfo
It's not really a peripheral though. It's a new platform entirely. It's misleading as it runs from the ps4 but it's doing a lot. It's more like giving your car the ability to fly rather than say getting a better radio do it.
Success will be based on the expectation Sony sets for itself. They've already said they don't plan on selling millions of these things. To me that says they will do small runs and see how they perform as well as general feedb...
