ok. I'm just trying to be helpful. go find your own info if its not good enough. second, i don't care if you buy it or not. i didn't set the price, nor do i care.
they are both going to cost more than 399. the Oculus is going to be $500 US and thats without the motion controllers. Total cost for everything will be around $700

Dude. You lost this round of the "game" after tallying up those disagrees you got.
Maybe the game needs new rules, like keeping comments relative to the article. This article was "xbox state of the Union 2016", not "Xbox state of the Union and also ps4s lineup for some reason in an Xbox article 2016" for example.
They (Sony) already said it would cost similar to "a new gaming platform" so it's entirely possible it could cost as much as a ps4. I personally won't be surprised if it does. I'll still buy it.

I'm skeptical that ms would just bail on all the people that already bought xb1s by releasing a more powerful sku. And what about all of the games going forward? Would they just automatically recognize which gpu they were on and scale the graphics accordingly to the power? Or would there be versions and you buy the one for the system you have.
Personally I would buy the beefier one if it were true but I'd also expect a descent crossgrade deal considering the timeframe...
@juju:
If you saw the graphics and resolution that is produced on samsungs gear vr you would never have posted that comment. They are very stripped down and the frame rates make you sick because they aren't fast enough. You also see the pentiling in the Samsung display - never mind the fact that mobile vr doesn't do hand, spatial or head tracking to boot. It's all from the phones gyro.
@hoffmann:
Not even close to what this game is. Its a regular action game with cutscenes being basically a tv show more or less.
Agreed. There's some good in project cars but not nearly as much as I was hoping. Disappointing. Assetto is fantastic on pc if you haven't played it. Really hoping it's as good on consoles.
Oh I hope this game is good on consoles. Its been fantastic on pc. Now how about some iRacing while we're at it.
i 100% disagree with you and i say that owning both consoles. i think there are some really exciting titles (for me personally) coming soon to the ps4 and i am eager to get playing them, but my xbox one has been getting far more use this year hands down.
some of the best received ps4 titles might be amazing for their genres but they've also been pretty niche titles that cater to smaller groups of gamers out of the whole. i can see them preferring the ps4 for that reason...
while i agree with what you are saying in general, there are some things that are different than just the apps. for example, part of it is that the xbox one is a giant universal remote thats also voice activated. when i turn on the xbox one either by voice, button or harmony remote, the xbox turns on the tv, the amp, the surround sound etc. From there, it has a whole different channel guide thats actually way better than most cable boxes... it can also be controlled by voice, controller or...
context.
you're dealing with a system that has a maximum resolution of 160x192 (with some hardcore tweaking) 128 colors with a max of 4 per line and 128 bytes of RAM. programming is done by hand. no dev kits, no api's etc...
a wwII plane might not be nearly as impressive as a modern f22 raptor in capability but its still admirable and cool imo to see someone get one up in the air these days. programming a game on an old 2600 falls into a similar ca...
@dark:
$1k?? I bought my brand new 6s unlocked for 600. Also, a console doesn't have to have lots of different radios (voice, lte, wifi, edge, 3G, Bluetooth, nfc) a high resolution touch screen, biometrics, a good camera and still fit comfortably in your pocket.
Consoles may have more gpu power but modern smartphones are far more sophisticated machines on a whole. Not a good comparison.
Who cares how much it sold if it's not fun. High sales don't make it better. And besides...when this game came out, there weren't a ton of exclusives available on the ps4 and also add the fact that more people bought it later at much cheaper prices.
I personally bought it out of a lack of options and curiosity of the graphics. I was over it quickly. If they can make a sequel that's actually fun and focused on gameplay over cinematics then sure. I'd be down ...
You are completely missing the mark. It's well beyond a screen on your face. Head tracking, spatial tracking, hand inputs and 3D. The most immersive tech yet for interactive media.
I worry for the same reason. It's already hard enough to run 60 fps and this thing is gonna need 90-120fps. Visuals will take a hit. I'm hoping the experience overall is enough to compensate for slighlty less fantastic graphics.
Yup. Baaaaaaaaaaah. we'll be having fun without you in our VR grazing field.
@gamer_xaf
i disagree. just because you and or your friends can't afford it doesn't mean that the other 30 million+ people can't. Sony isn't planning on moving huge numbers of these things initially. Even if they moved 1 million... just 1/30th of the install base would be considered a success for a brand new first adopter tech. The initial iPhone sales were less than that and it was a $600 piece of equipment when it launched with no subsidized pricing avai...
