They need to fix the resolution in addition to frame rate. I know it still needs to be optimized but it's pretty awful at present.
@gamename:
What I'm saying is those numbers are different and they look big but hardly make a difference when comparing both consoles to a Pc which can have double to 6x as much more power. And yes I work in Los Angeles. I work on lots of game cinematics (we did the in game cinematics for infamous second son, some halo, a few ea games, gears of war etc). I work with the video game industry a lot. You make a lot of friends... Especially when you all love video games. I hea...
No it doesn't. It's about 20-30% and I have friends that work at ea, Santa Monica studio and Activision. They all agree that the ps4 is "a little bit more powerful" but in general they are similar and "in the same ballpark" in terms of power. The ps4 is a little easier to hit 1080p and a bit easier to get a more sustained frame rate. That's about what the power differences end up at.
Stop pretending the ps4 is some super computer. As I said bef...
i don't think you can. i never found a way to, but i could have overlooked something. i'd rather run it locally personally. streaming introduces lag and sometimes quality issues or in more rare cases, instability.
but if they focus a big portion of their efforts on niche titles or more obscure genres, they're limiting their broader appeal to the masses. its not that there isn't a place for other genres that we know make ps4 great, but they also need to be successful as a business. personally i think its a smart move. the ps4 is a runaway success and they can ride that wave. a bonus side effect from said success would be more willingness to put money into more "unique" titles with ...
from a business perspective, you should go where the market is. if sony's best selling product is the console and a majority of the console market is in the west, then yes in that context.
way to keep it classy... nothing like people just taking other peoples products and work without compensation. i need to remember that the next time I'm shopping for a car or a tv.... "well it was just sitting there and someone unlocked the door for me and i wanted it so i felt i was entitled to drive away with it"
Agreed. I love my xb1 and ps4 but I'm not going to pretend they are on high end pc power level. And for me me they are good enough and still look good on a big tv.
So for the fanboys who think the ps4 is the same as a high end pc at 1.84 tflops, they're saying that the gtx970 with 4.6 tflops isn't enough to push 60 fps at max. That's more than twice the power and not even a top of the line card.
Maybe this will finally put it into perspective about real differences in power and capability between the two.
Love your ps4 as I do, but let's not pretend it's something it's not.
Yes. Ms is paying to make sure that all 3rd party games be downgraded and Sony and all of the studios are ok with it.... I love that this is the logic fanboys come up with when the ps4s actual real world power (not magic n4g ps4 power) is seen.
Someone forgot to tell the pc versions that was the plan.... Cuz the division on pc looks better than the consoles. The console versions look pretty close to each other (and still good imo but not as good).
@flip:
first off I'm not a fanboy. i believe in facts. secondly - the kinect reserve occupied 10% of the xb1 gpu leaving 1.3x for graphics push. if you are as capable of basic math as you are at being a word i won't mention on here, you can arrive at the conclusion. even if that wasn't the case, the amount of power difference is splitting hairs, so chill the F out and stop judging people you know nothing about.
For GPU comparisons it goes like this:
Xb1: 1.41 tflops (with Kinect reserve off)
Ps4: 1.8x tflops
Gtx970: 4.6 tflops
Wii U: 352 gflops (not tflops)
Exactly. It's really annoying how people think the ps4 can magically keep up with a high end pc while they make fun of the Xbox because it's less powerful. They don't even realize that the ps4 is closer in power to the xb1 than either console is to a solid pc.
I own a ps4 and an xb1 and I don't own a gaming pc but I'm also realistic and fully aware of what pc's are capable of - especially since we use really spec'd up boxes at work for VR producti...
is it the rest of the game? and for free?
my office mate directed it and the studio we work at did all the post and cg :)
the ps4 isn't that much more powerful than the x1. the ps4 certainly can't stand up to a decent gaming pc. if this were on ps4, the differences with it and the x1 version would be maybe less frame drops and possibly a little bit more particle effects.
so for way more money on a system, you can have more power. who would have thought....
p.s. its 1080p
wow. great review. i should consider picking this up.
LOL @ all of these comments. They show PC version images which are better (and in 4k) and everybody calls downgrade. they show lower rez graphics on the ps4 and suddenly people can't believe how good it looks - especially compared to the xb1 version which is the exact same rez and nearly identical.
This site is a f'ing joke with fanboys. yeah the game looks good on ps4. it also looks good on xb1. it looks great on pc. so... win on graphics. check. now, does the...
i think we could all agree to that.
