It's available today right? I think I'll get it since it's only 5 bucks, and looks fun.

Nintendo first fully announced the Wii U at E3 2011. They first fully showed it off at E3 2012, and are releasing it 6 months after that. It takes time for people to hear about, understand and decide upon their desire for a product. Why do people think that a PS4 or NextBox will release next year when they haven't even been announced yet? It's not impossible, but they'd be rushing it if they tried that. Just because we gaming news readers are ready and waiting doesn't mean tha...

Why is this article in the Wii U section?

May he rest in peace. He entertained us greatly in several ways and seemed to be a good guy.

Red Steel wasn't only a poor game, it also suffered from being one of the first realizations by Wii gamers that the Wii Remote didn't do what they were led to believe it did - What it didn't do until Wii Motion + and games like Red Steel 2.

Zombi U appears to be the real deal. I can't wait to own it and really play it thoroughly.

If this thing is $200 Who wouldn't buy it as soon as they can afford it besides the most idiotic of haters? Hard to believe that this will be the price. But by the same token, if it's $300 it doesn't feel like a value, and $350 or $400 sounds insane to me. I refuse to buy it at those prices.

It does look a little bit cheap. But I think they may have been going for a nostalgic, PS1 era look/feel.

I think that with this game, they've set solid groundwork for a Wii U sequel where they can tighten up the concepts, work out the kinks, and present it in HD. I look forward to it.

I remember the Sega thing from this site, but this article seems to be a much stronger and valid effort. Kudos.

I own both consoles. I'm loving Dawnguard on 360, feel bad for my friends who only own PS3 and have to wait, and am a bit jealous of my friends with Monster PC's who have access to all sorts of mods and extra content. You just have to make the most of what you have. Plenty of other games for PS3 owners to play until Bethesda gets it right. *shrug*

I seriously doubt Nintendo would ever sell their games on a competitors console. They just aren't the type of company that would do well developing on hardware that they didn't create.

If things ever got truly bad for them, perhaps we might see a generation where they only released a new hand held. And that only because they'd feel at the time that they needed to wait longer for a certain technology to be more prevalent and inexpensive before releasing a new conso...

Pokemon battle revolution didn't have an RPG element. It was all battle scenarios and free pokemon as DLC.

By the way, I've seen ZombiU, and I disagree very much that it 'only looks as good as a 360 game'. That game looks very crisp, smooth and excellent in ways that even games like Gears haven't quite attained.

Regarding how good AC3 looks, opinions are all over the place. I'd have to say that it's likely due to certain parts of the game being polished, and some not yet. But when someone like the EIC of GameTrailers says that the Wii U version looks the be...

For the record, Pikmin 3 is a Wii game that Nintendo decided to port to Wii U rather than release on Wii. As for 2D Mario, I'm sorry if you feel that you need to see the textures on the individual lines of Mario's jeans, but they are just never going to go that far... That's what Smash Bros and perhaps Super Mario Galaxy HD are for.

Key:

"The Wii U has way more memory, so we can take advantage of that with less compression on elements and textures, so it will look all lovely and shiny."

So regardless of whether or not it's more powerful or similarly powered, the RAM will make a big difference. None of us know. But I think that anyone who bets (in a raw capability sense) that the Wii U is anything less than a PS360 x 1.5 + quadruple RAM would be setting themselves up for a l...

Different cultures have different desires and expectations. Just because we in the west may put a certain importance on something doesn't mean that a Japanese game developer necessarily needs to do the same. And vice versa. There's no 'free pass' involved here. Just a style that so many people over here are now resistant to, we now want to act as though Japanese developers are flawed. Their continued varying successes make us act as though they get a free pass. Please.

Pretty sure the 'Use by' comment refers to the time period that 3rd party developers should have begun their final projects by if they want to take advantage of the opportunities that a gung ho user base brings. After whatever that date is, many gamers have moved on, or are so interested in what the next thing is going to be, they reign in the wallets a bit in order to be prepared.

I would think that most of us still on occasion enjoy our NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, PS2,...

Is the rumor true that they will help you move your data over for free to the XL you purchase? That's the deal maker or breaker for me.

EDMIX, how many console games do you really think would be developed at that level should the specs end up being that high? Not many. Way too many developers went under this generations due to development costs. The majority of them aren't looking for something that is much more expensive than what they currently have to deal with.

Even if the NextBox and PS4 are as powerful as you hope they'll be, most developers will just use that power to cut corners and do LESS op...
