That so? Perhaps it's regional. I called 5 stores and received the same response.
While I agree that the Wii U is indeed a cool and capable console, and I will be getting one, the fact remains that even though it won't be as far behind PS4 Xbox 720 as the Wii was this generation, anything cool that Nintendo comes up with for the system operationally or functionally, the other two can easily mimic. Just like they did this time around. That's the unavoidable pitfall of purposely aiming low specs-wise when your competitors on principle, aim higher.
'Gamers' find new ways to surprise every day...
Nintendo doesn't go out of their way to secure games like this and people call them 'kiddie' and unappealing.
Then they go out aggressively and publish a game they know the so-called 'hardcore' want (after it had been cancelled mind you!) and what do we get? People flying off the handle and expressing themselves in pathetic ways. And you know why? Because they NEVER had any intention ...
I doubt that anyone will buy a Wii U just to play Black Ops 2. But if someone is thinking about buying one, but didn't think they'd get to play Black Ops 2 in a way that is equal to the experience on PS360, then this makes their mind up for them. A lot of people REALLY like this series. Having it on Wii U is a staple that Nintendo was able to secure. That's all there is to it.
I don't think they provide it, but use software that makes your Wii U the easy to use, central hub for all of the services you prescribe to.
O.k.
As for me personally, the price was everything. They hit the very limits of what I'm willing to pay. They confirmed the 2 gigs of RAM, (1 for operating system, 1 for games which is awesome for a console) Nintendo TVii sounds like a great idea though in addition to Miiverse, and the solid launch lineup.
We get a lot of cake at launch, with the promise of some sweet frosting later on. I'm sold on it now, so I can't personally say that I think t...
'If you are not happy with the price ranges then you are being unreasonable because how could you possibly have expected a next-generation console to be any less than $300.'
Very true.
'It's doubtful though that there are many upset folks out there at all.'
Not so true. Unfortunately, there are a LOT of people out there who couldn't wait to be upset about whatever Nintendo decided. It's pathetic.
As usual, Pachter was wrong. No big surprise there. He gets paid to talk crap about whatever console/game fan group will currently give his firm the most attention when he opens his crap encrusted mouth.
^You sound like you're trying to make a commercial convincing others not to pursue the Wii U version, and play the Xbox version. Come on man. What good or positivity comes from trolling Wii U articles just to say things like that?
Plus: No more screen peeking or LAN connections to prevent screen peeking.
Minus: This probably only works with 2 players rather than the 4 that people are often accustomed to when playing local co-op.
You 'Lior'. :p
Nintendo has been talking about this idea since E3 2011 when they announced Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS.
Keep in mind that the big extra of the 32 gig console is Nintendoland. Not really the extra storage space. But between more storage, the game, and the charging peripherals, it's worth it.
Not that Nintendo will know that this article exists, but I wish they did. I agree completely.
After the blasphemy of naming Ness I stopped reading.
'Earthbound was never released in the UK so forget Ness!'
No my good sir. Forget you. :p
*Now if they give Ness Lucas' up smash, then I'm SORT OF o.k. with removing Lucas. But in general? No.
As much as they'd like it to be, Nintendo Land is no 'Wii Sports' They can keep it if it lowers the initial price of the console as far as I'm concerned. I'm looking forward to Zombi U, Assassins Creed 3 and to hearing about some of the first party secrets they've been holding back on. I'll play the ninja star game at a friends house, as that's about the only one I've found appealing so far. Not to mention that even that's disheartening as compared to t...
Earthbound, as is, gameplay-wise, with MAYBE some voice acting, but in Wii level graphics is good enough for me. And I mean AS IS. The simple battle screens would be the same, simply with 3D modeled pictures instead of pixel ones. The over world and cut scenes would look like the CG from Super Smash Bros Melee opening, etc. My friends and I would all buy it, along with a few extra copies to give to others who we think would like it, but are resistant to old school graphics.
Bubble up. Well said.
I didn't comprehend that as 'The next gen doesn't begin with Wii U' so much as, 'It will be a while until the Next gen is going at full steam (with all 3 new consoles on the market at preferable install bases).
Thanks for the approves guys. Better to take this story down until I have info from more states though.
