Nice. Now bring Xillia 1&2 to territories outside of Japan in a 1 disk Wii U set for $70 NamcoBandai. Please. I'm sick of waiting forever for these games, and not knowing if we'll even get them.

It's all dependent on the price. Not only do any new consoles have to be very affordable during these especially tough economic times globally, they will also have to give gamers compelling reasons to buy yet another console. This gen saw many people buy 2 and 3 consoles. There are plenty of great games to play, and this generation of consoles is now very affordable all the way around. Why should people buy a new one? That is the question that each respective hardware will have to answer ...

I for one play video games far more than I watch Television. In fact, outside of the (many) DVD's I buy, or the news clips and anime I watch online, I don't watch TV at all. Haven't had nor wanted Cable in years. This 'Reality TV' era is annoying to me beyond proper description.

I really didn't care for it much either. I'm in the minority I figure, but I agree with the Author. Something about it just didn't do it for me as a gamer.

Agreed. Not to mention that they nearly ALWAYS make profit off of their hardware and will never plan on releasing hardware that won't allow them to do so.

Nintendo would get into the smartphone business and release their games on it before they give up on making hardware and sell their games on the consoles of their rivals. It's just not going to happen unless there's continual, decade long failure by management, and upheaval in the industry itself like we've ...

Come on though, Sega got into the console business with the 8 bit machine, had some real success with the 16 bit machine, though not phenomenal, then proceeded to completely screw up.

As compared to Nintendo who since the NES has made a profit every year until this one, and are now profitable again. That comparison is weak. Nintendo is a much stronger gaming company, with billions in the bank. Of course they can't afford to keep losing money, but they are in no way shape...

Most people don't read the story when they approve it. Most people don't read the story once it's approved. People react to the headline and comment and/or argue with others about the perceived bottom line, and what they want the collective to walk away from the article believing. Sad. But not going to change any time soon. We live in the age of 'too long;didn't read', and 'Blah blah blah sucks even though I know very little about it'.

If they didn't dick us around and release Japanese developed games 2 years after the fact in other regions, this wouldn't be an issue at all. The bottom line in my mind here is that if gamers want to play a game, not allowing them to play it from the day that gamers in a different region get to, is going to cause all of the problems that they don't like, such as console modding, piracy, etc.

The easiest solution? Have region locking, but on a game by game basis. I...

It did my heart good to see Heroes of Might and Magic 2 on there.

I agree that the 'deeper experience' was a big factor. But I also think that the rising costs of arcade play was just as important. Which in turn points the finger at the makers of the arcade machines themselves in my opinion. When a new arcade machine costs the owner $10K-$20K, it takes forever, even at 50 cents a game to break even on your investment. Add in electricity, rent, and constant repair costs and it's even worse. Just like we've been finding out with console gaming...

I agree. I'm playing it now. I am highly annoyed however at the fact that it took 2 years for the game to be released here, while Japan has since had Xillia, and now Xillia 2 has been announced.

I agree. Anonymity is THE major reason why some people act so boldly in their inappropriate behavior. Even so, I'll deal with that and Trolls all the time, everywhere before I'd rather the internet become some overly regulated and babysat place.

As long as we have humans living together in communities, there will always be idiots who intentionally try to ruin things for everyone else. Once we change our own way of doing things too much in order to counter them, they&#...

As long as any time they include it, the Mii thing is just a side mode/add on that doesn't interfere with the main game and how they went about creating it I don't mind at all. I'd much rather not have them included though unless it's of course a Wii sports/Sports Resort type of thing. Though perhaps that's just me though I guess.

Regarding the music, is it Koji Kondo? If so, maybe he's in a little bit of a rut. He's an all-time great imo.

The music doesn't seem as great as past games. I agree. What bugs me more than anything else though about this game is that after Mario Kart Wii, this game will be the major doorway to 'Mii's' invading waaay too many Nintendo games. Graphics are by no means everything, but any decision to include Mii's in a game is pretty much a decision to use undetailed graphics (relatively speaking).

I don't want Mii's in Smash Bros, and platformers, and the Nin...

I don't know that they could afford to wait since 3rd party developers and many gamers really abandoned the Wii at the end.

I totally agree about the Nintendo Seal of Approval, and the shovelware problem though. Personally I just ignore the shovelware and buy what I believe to be quality. But sometimes people get tricked and buy games they wish they hadn't. True. Also, the fact that so many crappy games were allowed to be released on Wii caused many people to just ha...

By console:

Wii: LoZ: Skyward Sword - Great game. Not as good as many made it out to be. Alienating game play for people who prefer traditional controls made a lot of people have to be frustrated through a game that they liked but could have loved.

PS3: Killzone 2. It was pretty. It wasn't a bad game at all. Terribly overrated though. I think that people saw the graphics and by default attributed all things good about gaming to it.

Xbox 3...

Seriously. Let's also not forget that unlike many haters, Nintendo Enthusiast actually tried the console and games out first hand.

OMG_Armageddon:
I wasn't saying 'if' in the sense that I don't think they will. They'd be crazy not to. I was responding to the idea that Activision wouldn't want to spend the 'extra time' to code the games for the Wii U controller. 'If' they want to bring their games to the Wii U, they'll have to take the time. Everyone will have that controller. Not everyone will have the Pro Controller.

5074d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Regardless of how Activision feels about the Wii U controller, if they do make CoD games for Wii U, they'll have to make the tablet controller, or Wii remote controls standard since those are the controllers that every Wii U owner will have. The Wii U Pro controller will have a MUCH smaller install base.

Recurring theme? What, that I tend to defend Nintendo with my comments, and sometimes take part in the behavior I described in the blog post? I admitted that. Not sure what you mean by suggesting that I'm trying to fool people.
